Specifications of GUL Wavemaker G4 and G4 Mini: Technical Specification Summary
Guided Ultrasonics Ltd. produces the Wavemaker® G4 in two different physical formats, the larger Wavemaker® G4 and the smaller Wavemaker®
G4 Mini. The main functional difference between these is the number of transducer channels; the G4 mini has 16 channels as opposed to the 32
channels that the standard G4 has. Having additional channels improves redundancy and means that “EFC convertors” are not required for large
pipe or pitch-catch inspections. However, by reducing the number of channels, the G4 Mini is much smaller and lighter and has a better battery
life. The G4 mini also achieves faster collection times.
Each of the physical formats comes in two different functional formats that cover different frequency ranges. A compatibility matrix at the end of
this document shows which Wavemaker types support which ring and module types.
