College Research Reflection

1. List the campuses you plan on applying to or have already applied to. Highlight the three
most important criteria you used in determining where to apply.

The three campuses I am considering are Feather River Community College, College of the
Redwood, and San Diego City College. The three most important criteria I will use when
deciding on one is location, cost of attendance and majors offered.

2. Which campus is the one you would most like to attend? Explain why this campus is
your first choice compared to the others.

The campus that I would like to attend the most is San Diego Community College. It was my first
choice because it is close to my home and also close to my current place of employment. This
means my commute will not be too expensive and it can help me save money in the long run.

3. What will be your intended education goal? How does this goal relate to your chosen
career? What resources do these campuses have to support you in this career field?

My intended educational goal is to go to community college to obtain education in training for my

future job. The career I chose only requires a high school diploma, but having more education can
help me have more opportunities in this industry and get promoted to higher paying positions.
These campuses all offer classes in engineering which can help me in my career field. \

4. How do the costs of attendance compare at each campus? How do you plan to cover
the costs of attendance if you are accepted?

I am going to be attending a community college and I am able to use the California College
Promise Grant to help me pay for it. I also plan to apply for FAFSA to hopefully receive more
grants and lastly I want to apply for different scholarships. I also plan to continue to work
throughout my time there to help with additional expenses.

5. Do you plan on transferring to a four year college? If so, which campuses are you
interested in transferring to?

As of right now, I do not plan to transfer to a four year college.

6. Are there transfer agreements available? If so, which agreements do you plan to use
to successfully transfer? What are the requirements of these agreements?

There are transfer agreements at San Diego City College with UCs and CSUs. You need to meet
the requirements in order for you to be considered part of the transfer agreements.
Requirements vary depending on majors and schools but some of the requirements include
certain GPA requirements, having completed certain classes, and being part of the transfer
program.

7. Which classes are transferable from the community college you plan to attend to the
campus you plan to transfer to? Are there classes that will not transfer?

The majority of the classes that are transferable include core classes for your major. Some of
the electives are the ones that are not transferable.
