1.1
Visitor attractions are actually referred to the type of attractions where visitors pay for entering
into the sites or place of attraction for sightseeing. Apart from this, the attraction needs to be
permanently estimated tourists place, actual aim of which is to enable access of visitors for
educational motives, interest, entertainment and it even accepts worships destinations(Hsieh,
2017). There are different types of visitor attractions that are shown below:
There exists basically four types of visitor attractions that includes natural environment,
monuments, buildings, natural scenic beauty and also man-made structures that are made and
improved for tourists and for traditional purpose also which are now utilized for tourist attractions

attracting visitors and also made for the cause of accommodate the human necessities like special
vents, museums and theme parks which have limited lifespan of attraction as well as include pre-
booking and tickets for seeing it.
Overlap
Overlap is an attraction that was made with an actual cause but it does not have the potential to
become popular. For example, London Eye is located in London which is a major Ferris wheel
that is placed alongside of Thames River. It is an overlap attraction, since London Eye was not
created with a cause of becoming famous majorly and not a single individual knew that during the
time of attraction was being made it will be a famous visitor attraction. However, on the basis of
data, this visitor attraction is popular site and also is travelled by 3.5 million visitors every
year(Nyaupane and Andereck, 2014). This attraction have different attractive andcharming views
ofLondon from the 32 shell that it includes that weight 10 tons every holdingup to 25 individuals.
Natural History Museums in London is quite a popular and renowned museum which
portrays a compilation of samples for different segments of natural history. It is widely subsidized
national museum in the United Kingdom that is not chargeable for access. The museums shows
samples from old to new era and few popular attraction for exhibition of dinosaurskeleton nada so
ornate architecture.

Hyde Park is located in Central London. Between the four attractions, Royal Park makes
a chain which begins with the entrance of Kensington Place with Hyde Park, from Hyde Park to
Hyde Park to Hyde Park corner andGreen Park passing with the main entrance within
BuckinghamPalace(Leask et al., 2014). It was articulated as the tourist attraction from the 16th
century and extended certification. From 21 st century Hyde Park has becomes the place for
business events and rock music parties as well. However, it is identified as the tourist attractions
which emerge as special event.
The London Tower is quite popular royal palace that is situated on the north side Thames
River that shows the visitors to discover its brilliant and charming ancient period with its important
defenceand weapon store. The palace displays its armoury, weapons and crown jewels to visitors
for experiencing ancient times(Swarbrooke and Page, 2012). It was not but for the cause of
becoming a tourist sites but it is changed along with advanced times and now it’s a visitor
attraction.
The above demonstrated portion is the description in the context of overlap of visitor attractions
according to the sorts of attraction.
1.2
For visitors from the entire globe, United Kingdom is the renowned and popular visitor’s
attraction. The business of tourism all over the United Kingdom is kept very much active to
continuedeveloped momentum and also to make it specific so that the tourism sector can get profit
from it(Nyaupane and Andereck, 2014). For the purpose of examining the significance of visitor
attractions, Hyde Park is being taken as an illustration of destination.
5
Figure 1: Hyde Park
Hyde Park comes under the eight Royal Parks which is possessed by the administration of the
United Kingdom with the help and guidance of Department for culture, Sport and Media. This
park acquires the location of around 139.9 hectares that is located in the City of Westminster. The
park drive attention of the visitors with Kensington Garden on its western side and even has a
charming passage that is opened with cultural and tradition heritage (Leask, 2016).
Through being a popular and attractive royal park, Hyde Park is quite antique and attractive
destination since it becomes an important tourist attractions on an international stage. Hyde Park
with Kensington Gardens and Green Park gives the visitors an estimation to enjoy pleasure
moments in leisure activities, fresh air and soothing environment.
Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park are listed as the most renowned and No.1 historical
destination for tourists. These historical parks are referred as a signature of cultural and traditional
heritage that demonstrates pride and vitality of UK. Hyde Park was the original royal park which
was legally available for the public(Law and Buhalis, 2010.). It is the public park considering the
freedom of access within the park as well as publicly use of park.
Strategy and planning with relevant andeffectivemanagement are also taken intoaccount
for the park along with a patter for future management, promoting the interest for the park and
6
raisingcommunal engagement, giving a timeline for analysing the establishment and even operates
and the planning are portrayed for assisting a relevant budget production, allocation and
management(Nyaupane and Andereck, 2014).
Thus, in the context to the key factors taken into account for single visitor attractions like
structural management, location, process of recreation, preservation plans and also cause of
attraction are clearly examined which describes the importance of different tourist attractions.

encouragevisiting to a destinationthat can begin from personal interest to
psychologicalanddemographical interest. The demand and motivation of different tourist types,
impact over tourism on tourist attraction and even recognition of different motivational theories
have been analysed(Garrod et al., 2012). There are different tourists with differentinspirationsand
need to travel various visitor attractions. An investigation of the needs andmotivation of different
tourist types concerning different tourist attractions that have been described below:

interest as well.

2.2
The positive and negative effect of tourism on visitor attractions has been demonstrated below:
The actual aim to form the park is actually to preserve the wonderful natural scenery and also to
let the tourists for enjoying pleasure in the colourful and airy location for emerging with leisure
activities for the tourist and develop peace, calmness and privacy.
Positive Impact- These two parks have been fertile from the time it has been formed employment
for the local residents and also increased the income level for social economy. It has even
facilitated the country in the context of economy with the support of direct employment and even
indirectly in retail and transportation sector(Dong and Siu, 2013). Tourism also facilitated for
maintaining the normal handicrafts and culture as well. It has even sustainably supportive in nature
from the time of preservation of natural resources and wildlife performed there with a reduction in
over fishing and deforestation.
Negative Impact-Employment that is formed is basically seasonal and the number formed by
tourism does not significantly beneficial for the local residents as different national and also
multinational guest houses and hotels taken entire profits (Dong and Siu, 2013). Despite, major
portion of revenue of the natural beauty is destroyed because of soil erosion, litter, traffic
congestion and pollution as well.
2.3
Motivation is a major condition where people have specific needs that are require to be satisfied.
Those needs encourage people to perform activities and operations to satisfy those requirements.
There are different situations where needs change from primary to secondary as well as secondary
to primary which results in activities establishment and creates the people to move ahead to another
set of actions(Connell et al., 2015).
Process of Motivation
Needs of individuals make them to act in a certain manner to satisfy their needs and demands that
motivates the people to act in the similar process.
12
In the context of tourists, they will travel the visitor attractions only if their demand emerges with
the process of motivation, the methods have been mentioned in the following:
Through the context of the diagram mentioned above, if a visitor will go to a specific site, in case
the though process of the visitors regarding the site and related to those site will satisfy their
thought process and needs, it will even encourage the tourists for visiting and satisfying their
requirements and demands. There are different motivational theories that describe various aspects
which encourage and motivate visitors.
13
Figure 8: Maslow's need hierarchy theory
Abraham Maslow was the first person to use the motivational theories.
On the basis of Maslow, different people have different needs and demands, by implementing this
theory in terms of the tourism places; it occurs that if a person needs visiting to tourism
destinations, it requires satisfying the normal needs of a person(Connell et al., 2015). The tourist
destination require to give mental as well as safety needs in superiority which will drive attention
of the visitors to those specific destinations and will also give satisfaction for communal
requirements, self-actualization and even for self-worth. Though, this theory has only one
drawback that the needs might not stand by the hierarchical segments given by Maslow.
Responsible tourism theory is related to the impact of tourism on ecology as well as on people and
it also go after to improve the impacts by giving tourism that is quite innovative for the community,
enhances the working situation and even innovative for the environment(Dewhurst and Thwaites,
14
2014). The negative impact on the visitor attractions is implemented and this is action of
responsible tourism which describes the theory.

the consultants is vital in the current business context.
Local authorities: tourism is driver for the local economies and is the main factor for the economic
ambitions of the local authorities.

the concept regarding it.
Design: designing the area which needs to be enhanced must be first designed and it must be
according to the visitor’s demand.
Planning Implications:
Licensing: for the involved organisations, it is important to take license from the central or regional
government regarding the development.
Entrance Fee: it is important to consider whether to take entrance fee from the visitors or not.
The ticket prices must be basis of individual tourists, group tickets or the seasonal tickets(Barros
et al., 2011).
Access: the involved enterprises must analyse which part to be accessed to the visitors and which
part to be not.
Training: involved management must provide training to the volunteers and workers regarding
the preservation and conservation of the site. It must also provide training regarding the handling
of the visitors.
Customer care: A separate customer care department must be implemented in a tourist site which
will address all the possible issues of the visitors.

between them and the workers(Barros et al., 2011). It will encourage the workers to participate in
the development of the attraction.
