Part 1:

1.Hometown:
1. Where are you from?

I ‘m from Thai Binh province. It is in the East North of Vietnam and it is famous for
producing rice.
2. What do you like about your hometown?

I like people and the atmosphere. The atmosphere is peacefull and people are very friendly.
3. What is the weather like in your hometown?

The weather in my hometown bears the characteristics of tropical climate. In the year, there
are two main season: hot and cold season.
4. What are some changes in your town recently? = Has your hometown changed much
lately (these years)?

The industrial zones are built. They release emissions and dust. So the quality of air is low
and I feel unsatishfied.
5. Do you think you will be living in your hometown in the future?

I always want to live with my family in my home town. It makes me feel comfortable when I
am there.
2. Accommodation (Rented)
1. Where are you currently living?

I am living in Ha Noi city. My university is located in Ha Noi ,so I am living there in order to
be convenient for studying.
2. Which types of housing do you prefer – house or apartment?

Honestly, I prefer house to apartment. But the price of a house is usually more expensive than
that of apartment.
3. Is this convenient living in your accommodation?/ Does your living area near shops and
entertainment locations?

Yes. It only takes me a short time to go to the uni. Furthermore, there are many shops and
entertainment locations around my accommodation. Therefore, I can go shopping and relax
easily.
4. Do you want to live there in the future?
It depends on my work after graduating. If it is near , I will still live here but if it is far, I will
find a different aparment.
5. What can you see when you look of the window of your room?

I can see many skyscrapers. In the evening, they are flashy with the lights turned on.
3. Study (University)
1. Do you work or are you student?

I am a student. I study at Vietnam National University of Agriculture. It is a famous


university in VietNam
2. What is your major/ specialization?/ What subject are you studying?

My major is high-tech agriculture. It is a new major in the uni.

3. Why did you choose that major?/ Do you think it’s important to choose a subject you like?

I choose my major because When I was a child, I fell in love with plants. And I want to help
the farmer by my knowledge.

4. Do you like your studying?

Certainly. It is very interesting. It helps me have more knowledge and experiences for my
work in the future.
5. What is your plan in the next five years?/ Are you looking forward to working?

I am a third year student at the university. After graduating, I will look for a work relating my
major to have experiences and make money during three years. After that, I will establish a
farm to produce vegetables.

4. Holidays
Where did you go for your last holiday?

I visited to Da Lat with my family. Da Lat is very beautyful. It is a memorable trip with
interesting experiences.
Do you like holidays? Why?

Of course, I think everyone does and I’m not an exception. Holidays is great time to take a
rest after hard working days.

Which public holiday do you like best?


I like all public holidays but if I have to select one, I’ll choose Tet. Tet is great occasion in
order that everyone spends time on the family and meet relative and friend
What do you do on holidays

It depends on the duration of the holiday. If the holiday lasts for a week or so, I’d prefer

to travel with my family and friends. But if it is only one or two days, I will be at home to
take a rest and relax.
5. Primary school
What did you like to do the most when you were in primary school?

Honestly, This is a difficult question. It was ages ago, there were many activities and I could
not remember.
How did you go to your primary school?

My mother is a teacher in my primary school, so I always went to the primary with her by
bike.
How do you like your primary school?

At the moment, my primary school is very old. I want it fixed and had more new equipments.
What did you do in your leisure time in your primary school?

I usually play football, badminton, hide and seek with my friends. Sometimes, we did some
difficult exercises together. It was a great time.
6. Getting up early**
Do you often get up early in the morning?

Yes. I usually get up early in the morning because I always go to the university at 6: 30.
What do you usually do when you get up early?

Normally, I prepare for my breakfast, it is very important. Sometimes, I also read books or
listen to music.

Do you get up early on weekends?

No. I usually have time off on weekends and so I want to sleep more.
What kinds of people usually get up early? Why?

I thinhk that firstly, the mothers usually get up early. They have to prepare for their family.
After that, they will take their children to the school. Secondly, the good sellers in the market
also get up early because everyone usually go to the market to buy everything for a day in the
morning.
What are the benefits of getting up early?

I think that getting up early has muchs benefits. First, we have more time to do somethings
such as do morning exercises, read books and listen to music. Secondly, we can enjoy the
fresh air in the morning.
7. Trees/ Plants**
Do you like trees?

Yes. They are very good for the environment. And they provide Oxygen for people respiring.
Have you ever planted trees/ grown a tree? (Yes -> What plant did you grow when you were
young?, Where did you plant trees?)

Yes. When I was young, I planted trees with my friends every spring in the school.
Therefore, I was interested in plant and my major at the uni is high tech agriculture.
Do you keep plants at home?

Yes. There are many plants at home, such as fruit trees and flowers
Would you like to live in a place that has many trees?

I always want to that and I think that everyone like me. It is very comfortable when we live
there.
What kinds of trees are important in your country?

There are many types trees plantes in my country. But rice and fruit trees are most important.
Do you think places with trees attract more visitors than places with few trees?

8. Farms and Farming


Have you visited a farm?

My major in the uni is high tech agriculture, so I often visit some farms with my friends and
teachers to have much experiences and knowledge.
Are there a lot of farms in Vietnam/ in your hometown?

There are many farms in Vietnam but they concentrate on development agricultural areas.

There are some farms in my hometown but my hometown has many rice fields.
What can you do on a farm?
I can plant trees, harvest some products such as: vegetable and fruit. Furthermore, I can feed
cattles.
Do you like living in a farm?

I have not ever lived in a farm. I will do that in the future. I think that It is very interesting.
Do you think farming is important?/ Is agriculture important in your country?

Certainly. Farming provides food for people and helps people in the rural area have works.
9. Taking a rest
How often do you take a rest?

I usually have an hour to take a rest after studying all the morning in the university. It is
really necessary.
What do you usually do when you are resting?

I usually listen to music or read books in the restime. I help me relax and decrease stress.
Do you take a nap when you are taking your rest?

I only have a 30-minute nap after lunch before continuing going to the university in the
afternoon. I think many other Vietnamese people share the same habit
How do you feel after taking a nap?

I feel refreshed and energized after having a nap. That’s why I have the habit of napping for
15 to 30 minutes after lunch
Is it important for you to take a rest every day?

Yes. It is very important for me take a rest everyday. I thinhk that everyone also agree with
me.
10. TV shows/ programs
Do you often watch TV shows?

I usually watch some TV programs with my family while we are eating lunch and dinner.
Do you watch these shows on the TV or on your cellphone?

Both. I watch these shows on the TV with my family and my friends and I watch them on my
cellphone when I am alone.
What kind of TV programs do you like?
Entertainment programs are my favorites. They really help me unwind after a hard working
day.
Do you like watching the same kind of program all the time?

No. It makes me feel bored after I have watched it for a long time. I will change different
programs after that.
Do you like to participate in these programs?

Certainly. They are very interesting. I always want to take part in these programs but to join
in these show is not easy.
11. Your country
Which part of your country do you want to live in?

Somewhere in the north of Vietnam. I really love the atmosphere here because there are 4
distinct seasons
What is the best place to live in your country?

In my opinion, Da Lat is the best place. It is called Paris of Vietnam. It is famous for flower
fields and the moutains.
Is there anything making you proud about your country?

Yes. Firstly, Vietnam is the leading agricultural exporter in the world. Secondly, we are one
of the few countries that have been able to cope with the Covid-19. Finnally, People in my
country are verry friendly and hospitable.
Do you know the history of your country well?/ Do you know a lot about your country?

Certainly. I think that everyone in my country also like me. Vietnam is a heroic nation. We
defeated America and France in two wars to have independence.
Do you plan to live in your country in the future?

Sure. I always want to live with my family in my country. It makes me feel comfortable when
I am there.

12. Living area


1. Do you like the area that you live in?

Yes. It is a great place. Moreover, it is also near the university.

2. What have been some changes in the area recently?


Honestly, my area has almost no changes recently. Sometimes, there are some houses built.
3. Do you know any famous people in your area?

There is no famous people in my area . I know almost people in my area. We are sociable and
friendly.
4. Where do you like to go in that area?

There are many attractive places in my area. I often go to the shopping mall or the movie
with my friend at the end of month.

13. Environmental protection


Would you like to work in a company related to environmental protection?

Yes. I always want to do helpful works for society although I know that It is not easy.
How can we protect the environment?

There are many different solutions to protect the environment. We can turn off the light
before going out, decrease use of plastic iterms.
Do you think you’ve done enough to protect the environment?

I don’t think what I have done is enough to preserve the environment, and there are still

many other solutions I can contribute to environmental protection. I will try my best

to do what I can.
Is there education about environmental protection at school in your country?

Yes. Protecting environment is important problem in the world. I have taught differnent ways
to preserve the environment since I was in the primary school

14. Wild animals


Do you like watching TV programs about wild animals?

Yes. I have seen animal world on TV since I was a child. It is so intersting.


Did you learn something about wild animals from school?

There was very little knowledges about wild animals from school. I hope there will be more
contents about wild animals in studying program in the future.
Where can you see wild animals?
We can see wild animals in the zoo and national parks. My parents took me to there when I
was a child.
In which country do you think you can see many wild animals?

I think that we can see wild animals in almost country in the world because each country has
natural reserves.
15. Flowers
What kinds of flowers do you know?

I don’t know much about flowers but I can name and recognize a few. Roses, lotuses,

sunflowers
Are there any flowers that have special meanings in Vietnam?

To be honest, I don’t know much about this topic. but I know that red roses represent love
and lotuses represent Buddhism
Have you planted any flowers?

I seldom plant flowers at home but In the university, I usually grow them because it is part of
my subjects.
Have you sent flowers to anyone?

Yes. In Vietnamese Teacher Day, I usually give flowers to my teachers or in Women Day, I
always give them to my mother.
