5 .5 Trend Review Instruction

Trend Review Summarization

Trend is used to observe the change trend of the patient's certain physiology signal in a period. It is mainly
used for assistant analysis of the condition of an illness. The trend usually takes 1 minute as unit of account,
that is, that each parameter brings an average value in one minute denotes the trend value of this parameter.
It usually can be reviewed with trend draw and trend diagram.
Trend group/category
Trend group means to organize the associated parameter of physiology properly and provide the user more
integrated information of a certain physiologic index aspect.
The definition of trend group:
1. Vital signals: including the parameters of HR, SP02, NIBP, RR, TEMP.
2. ST changes: including HR, ST-Ⅰ/Ⅱ, RR, SP02, PVCS.
3. Hemodynamics: IBP1, IBP2, IBP3, IBP4, HR.
4. GAS: AA, AwRR, N20, 02, CO2Et.

5 .16 Alarm Management

General Introduction

This system has two kinds of alarms: physiological information alarm and technical alarm
■ Physiological information alarm includes parameter alarm, ST alarm and arrhythmiaalarm
Physiological information alarm reminds doctor via visual and aural suggesting idea which meets
international standard. Visual aspect mainly includes lightening and glitter of color light; aural aspect
mainly includes suggestive sounds in different level.
Physiogical alarm actualizes via "alarm limit", which defines certain physiogical parameter is within
normal range. When parameter is beyond upper limit or lower limit of this range , the alarm will be
triggered.
!Notice!
Parameter alarm limit is from bedside through network; this system cannot revise it.
■ Technical alarm
Technical alarm mainly reflects fault reference of facility or hardware and remides doctor via two means of
vision and hearing.

45
Alarm Levels

Alarm level reflects the severity degree of alarm. There are three level:
Alarm level 1――― critical and highest-level alarm, also named first-degree alarm
Alarm level 2――― severe alarm, medium alarm, also named second-degree alarm
Alarm level 3――― common alarm, the lowest-level alarm, third-degree alarm
The alarm limit of parameters is transferred from bedside through network; it can't be revised.
This system judges the existent alarm by alarm information showing different background color through
single & multiple bed observation or by the changes of indicator lights of 64-bed situation under main
interface:
Red light on--highest-level alarm
Orange light on--medium-level alarm
Yellow light on--lowest-level alarm

Alarm Mute

Alarm mute means system will prompt by vision but sound when there is alarm.
Time limit of alarm mute can be set as 3 minutes, 10 minutes and permanence.
When 3 minutes or 10 minutes is set, the system will turn to non-mute alarm automaticly when time
reaches the setting; and it will be in alarm mute excepting users' intervention when "Permanence" is set
except users' intervention.
Users can unchain alarm mute at any time when mute is set.
Please refer to "Setup instructions" for time limit set of alarm mute
Inuring and unchaining of alarm mute are via icons in main interface. Please refer to "Main monitoring
interface--Controlling icons"

Alarm Hang

Alarm Hang means the system doesn't judge alarm in a period of time, ignoring psysiological information
alarm.
persisting time of alarm hang can be set as 2 minutes, 3 minutes, 5 minutes.
System will turn back to the former condition when time for alarm hang reaches the setting.
Users can unchain alarm hang at any time when it is set..
Please refer to "Setup instructions" for time limit set of alarm mute.
Inuring and unchaining of alarm mute are via icons in main interface. Please refer to "Main monitoring
interface--Controlling icons"

Alarm Reference and Response

Alarm informationcan be prompted by visual and aural methods. This system supplies many means to
suggest users about the alarm:
■ Grounding Change

46
When psysiological information alarm occurs, system will prompt by updating the grounding in patient
section of corresponding bedside.
persisting time of grounding change can be set as 1 minute, 3 minutes or 6 hours. Please refer to "Setup
instructions" for detail.
Users can set specific updated grounding color which can also be found in Setup Instruction.

Graph 5.16 Alarm background updating interface

■ State Indicator Light
Red light on--highest-level alarm
Orange light on--medium-level alarm
Yellow light on--lowest-level alarm
■ Alarm Information
Alarm information displays on top of patient section. It lists the alarm limit. eg, "HR > 70" shows the
alarm occurs because heart rate exceeds upper limit 70.
■ Parameter Flicker
The corresponding parameters will flicker or red circle will occur before the parameters in single &
multiple bed observation windows when psysiological alarm occurs.
■ Alarm Sound Reference
The system will remind users of the alarm when alarm mute is not effective.
Alarm sound features:
Highest-level alarm: 2 times of "DO-DO-DO -- DO-DO"/ each 5 seconds
Medium-level alarm: 1 time of "DO-DO-DO -- DO-DO"/ each 5 seconds
Lowest-level alarm: 1 time of "DO"/ each 5 seconds

Alarm Volume and Adjustment

Users can click on right top of the procedureto adjust the volume.
!Notice !
The system alarms by choosing the highest alarm level when different bedsides alarm or different
parameters of one bedside alarm, accoring to corresponding alarm volume and tune.
