CONTEXT AND RATIONALE

Zumba is an aerobic activity that can count toward the amount of aerobic
activity recommended by the Department of Health. Aerobic exercise can
reduce health risks, help maintain a healthy weight, strengthen your heart,
and boost your mood. If you enjoy Zumba, you're also more likely to do it
regularly and experience its benefits as an aerobic exercise (Fitterfly, 2018).
In Physical Fitness test, some of the students in Grade 4 Section Acacia
have lower results because of minimal Physical activities in the new normal
of education. Most of them are just doing their modules or spend their time
in gadgets that’s why I decided to do this research to improve the results of
Physical Fitness Test of selected Grade 4 Acacia by adding Online Zumba to
their physical education class.
ACTION RESEARCH QUESTIONS

Physical Fitness is an ability of an individual to do daily task efficiently

and effectively with alertness and vigour and some extra reserve in case of

emergency. Due to the pandemic and changes in technology students now a

days mostly spend their time with gadgets which are not good ways to

develop them physically, they spend their times looking on their gadgets

which cause them poor eyesight and posture. Zumba is a fun and versatile

total body workout. While grooving to its beats, you can burn calories and

improve overall health, coordination, and endurance without even realizing


it. Because laughing while working out makes you happier and healthier.

This study which responded by selected Grade 4 Section Acacia of Bayanan

Elementary School Main batch 2021-2022 will help as to:

 Know the point of views of our students about Physical Fitness

 Learn from the respondents about the changes after the research

 Check the students’ improvement in selected tests in physical fitness

test.

This study has selected ten Grade 4 students from Section Acacia of

Bayanan Elementary School Main with the age ranging from 9 to 10 years

old. Survey was done in this study to get the point of view and the changes

in Physical Fitness of each of the respondents. The information from this

study will be of great value to all educator and parents to understand the

child's nutritional and other developmental needs.

PROPOSED INNOVATION, INTERVENTION AND STRATEGY

This research will make use of the Qualitative method to see the
conditions of the pupils in terms of their Physical Fitness using Online
Zumba in this new normal education which is no face-to-face classes.
Respondents of this study will be the chosen Grade 4 – Acacia pupils
of Bayanan Elementary School Main. teacher-made test will be used
as instrument to gather the needed data. Data will be recorded,
tabulated, and interpreted through various statistical tools and
techniques. Result analysis and conclusions will be given afterwards.
Recommendations will be provided for future use and other endeavors
of the same or at least related studies and research.
ACTION RESEARCH METHODS
A. Participants and/or other Sources of Data and Information

Ten students from selected grade 4 students of Bayanan Elementary


School Main, participated in this action research project. The students
ranged in age from 9 - 11 years old. They all have the capability to join
online classes. All attended grade 4 in Bayanan Elementary School
Main.
A pre-test survey and a post-test survey that measure their Physical
Fitness will be administer to the Online Zumba during MAPEH subject
or Extra Curricular Activity. At the beginning of this qualitative study,
the researcher will discuss with a fourth-grade teacher and parents
the purpose of this study and asked for her assistance and
cooperation in helping make the study become possible. The
researcher will inform the teacher and the parents subjects that the
study would last three weeks

B. Data Gathering Methods

The Before-and-After Study Design


The before-and-after design (also known as the pre-test/post-test design)
can measure change in a situation, phenomenon, issue, problem or
attitude. It is the most appropriate design for measuring the impact or
effectiveness of a program. A before-and-after design can be described as
two sets of cross-sectional data collection points on the same population
to find out the change in the phenomenon or variable(s) between two
points in time. The change is measured by comparing the difference in
the phenomenon or variable(s) before and after the intervention.
C. Data Analysis Plan
For statistical analysis and data gathering procedures, tables and graphs
will be used in the interpretation of data.
