The line graph shows the percentage of rented and owned households in England from 1918 to 2011, with rented households decreasing gradually and owned households increasing over time. It can be observed that, the line graph represents the percentage of households that are rented and

owned in England during the time period of 1918 – 2011.

By scanning the line graph the rented households in England are decreasing gradually and owned
households are showing an upward trend.

The graph shows that in 1918 there was a huge difference between the owned households and
rented households which is nearly 50 percent. 50 percent means a huge difference between them,
slightly years passing the difference between them starts decreasing. In 1971 almost the both rented
and owned households are same and the difference was 0 percent.

From 1981 to 2011, it appears the reverse trend while comparing with the last years 1918-1961,
which means the owned households are more in number. Finally at present owned households are
in high number than compared with the rented households with 20 percent difference. This implies
that peoples in England prefer owning the houses than staying in rented households in the recent
years.
