I am delighted to congratulate learners from Pakistan on their academic achievements in
the June and November 2021 Cambridge examination series. The Outstanding Cambridge
Learner Awards recognise the exceptional performance of learners around the world in
Cambridge examinations. The awards reflect the talent and hard work of learners and
acknowledge the dedication and commitment of both teachers and parents.
At Cambridge Assessment International Education learners are at the heart of everything
we do. Our programmes and qualifications help learners reach their potential and instil a
lifelong love of learning and passion for discovery.
Universities and employers worldwide recognise Cambridge qualifications, giving learners a passport to global
success. Cambridge qualifications have a reputation for being an excellent preparation for university, employment,
and life – encouraging learners to become confident, responsible, reflective, innovative, and engaged.
The year 2021 was marked with uncertainly for our students, schools and for us at Cambridge International. Due to
the government directives, in response to a spike in Covid-19 cases numerous exams in June 2021 were cancelled
in Pakistan. This primarily impacted Cambridge O Level and IGCSE students. As a result, we rescheduled and
conducted their exams in July and August 2021. This was done exclusively to help facilitate our students in Pakistan.
Changes to our exams in 2021 has meant you may see a variance in the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards
that have been given. You may notice more ‘Top in Pakistan’ winners, this is because the replacement syllabuses
only had one component, and most were multiple choice. This increased the likelihood that more candidates
would achieve the same mark, creating more winners for the same award. In addition, because some of the
replacement syllabuses were unique to Pakistan, they could not be included in the ‘Top in the World’ category.
Furthermore, we have decided to recognise Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award winners from the November
2021 series as an exception for the year 2021. This has been done to acknowledge the large number of students
from Pakistan who took exams in November 2021, who previously would not have done so.
It is extremely encouraging to see the continued growth in popularity of Cambridge qualifications in Pakistan.
I am delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievements of 35 students from 29 schools who obtained the
highest marks in the world, an outstanding performance. I would also like to congratulate 481 students who
received the ‘Top in Pakistan’ award and 36 student who received ‘Top in the World’, a much-deserved
recognition for their very hard work.
All these awards demonstrate the high standard of education in our schools and the fact that they can provide an
excellent learning environment for their students that enables them to reach their potential. Schools also make a
huge contribution in helping learners succeed by investing in professional development of their staff. Every time
a learner performs well in their Cambridge examinations, they open a world of opportunities.
We are proud of every Cambridge learner represented in these awards for their commitment and hard work.
We would also like to thank our partner, the British Council, whose continued support, dedication, and commitment
to education in Pakistan have made a terrific contribution to the achievements and lives of many learners.
We hope that this recognition of academic success will encourage learners in their future education and careers.
