Dream . Work . Achieve

4
There's nothing that gives mea better “high”
than to hear your books are selling. That's why I
wrote this.

5
Tip 1
PUT DISCOUNTED
PRICES ON YOUR
BOOKS

I know you may already know this, but it's a great way to
sell on Black Friday, especially for those who have
ebooks.

The beautiful thing about ebooks is that there is no

recurrent expenditure like reprinting costs, so you can
afford to raise the price or bring the price down for an
ebook. It's well within your power. On Black Friday, you

6
will see authors on Amazon whose books were selling for
$10.99 bring it down to $1.99.

If the print margin for your printed book is low, you may
not use this strategy so profitably. For example, if your
production cost (a sum total of all costs- design, editing,
and printing) per book is $2 and your book is $2.50, there
may be no good window for discount. But if you were
originally selling it at $10, a discounted sale of $5 might
rake in some good amount of profits that won't harm you.

Profits from Black Friday deals are usually made from

volumes of sales. That's the catch.

But there's another catch. You'll be able to get;

Ÿ Some folks who may not have had the resources to

purchase your books earlier.

Ÿ New folks who may never haveheard about you or

your works.

If you capture their data, you'll be able to maintain and

nurture the relationship. If they enjoy your book, they

7
can stretch to buy other books of yours when you upsell to
them. Also note that nurturing relationships is very
powerful and the benefits are beyond comprehension.

May your book sell on Black Friday!

8
Tip 2
BUNDLE YOUR
BOOKS

I happen to be the CEO of Switchpath Consulting.

At Switchpath, we're bundling 2 books and 2 resources.

Ÿ Shut Up & Serve Us.

Ÿ Simply Marketing
Ÿ Surviving Crisis Times In Business.
Ÿ Notes To The Bizman.

The books are strictly for entrepreneurs. They're also

9
ebooks. Each costs N2000, but for Black Friday, we'll sell
all 4 for N2000 only. Buyers will have an added value of
being added to our VIP list! This list comeswith lots of
benefits like getting a discounted price on any of our
virtual and physical trainings.

Personally, I have 8 ebooks Ican bundle together for

N2000 within a 7-day grace window.

If you have a couple of ebooks, you can do these as well.

This is not limited to ebooks. Last year, I cobbled 5 of my
printed books that amounted to N16,500by selling
themfor N15,000 with free delivery to any part of Nigeria.
Did I make profits? Oh yes, I did.

If you package the materials, include a branded material

of your brand – a wristwatch, a bookmaker, a paper,
whatever it is to the package. Doing this will create an
emotional bond with your buyer. The psychology behind
this action is that the default state of humans is to buy
more for less. Your bundle assuages this emotion.

May your book sell on Black Friday.

10
Tip 3
FIND, CONNECT
& COLLABORATE

Who says you only have to sell your books by yourself?

In my native language, there's an adage that says,

"Anyukoommamirionu, ogbaaufufu." It means, "When
we urinate together, it foams."

As kids, we would bring out our penises, choose a

particular spotaim directly at the spot especially if it was
at the trunk of a tree and fire away our urine.

11
The joy of seeing the community effort of foaming urine
was infectious.Do this for your book!

Find any author (or authors) whose branding messages

are in alignment with yours and collaborate. If you've
written a book of fiction, you can collaborate with
someone who has written a fiction book. When both of
you come together, your role will be to viciously market to
your audiences. So, your "nonfiction audience" gets to
enjoy fiction, and the "fiction audience" of your
collaborator gets to enjoy nonfiction.

You can quickly set up a single page website specifically

for this purpose and drive massive traffic to it through
organic and paid ads.

You can use a payment link that splits the revenues

automatically as sales happen or you can route monies to
a central account and split the proceeds at the end of the
campaign.

You can even bundle other books of yours into the

package, say two of yours and two of hers/his.

12
Guess what? After the campaign, each of you can upload
the data of buyers into your separate customer
relationship management tools like your emails and
continue the nurturing relationship that can lead to
future sales.

Win-win, right?

May your book sell on Black Friday.

13
Tip 4
GO THE EXTRA!

You can give extras to everyone who buys your book

during a 7-day or 72-hour period Black Friday campaign.
Any duration you choose is strictly at your discretion.

What should you give as an extra?

- It can be a training. This can be virtual or physical.

Virtual will cost you less. For everyone who buys your
book, you will give them access to a training on a specific
subject area or areas that can add more value to them.

14
For example, if they buy a book on marketing, they can
have extra training in sales and customer service design.
Make sure that the price you place on the training is 50%
or 100% the value you place on your book. So if you're
selling your book for N1000, your training should be
offered at N10,000. When they see that they're getting a
ton of value for buying the book, they will buy.

- An access to a few of your masterminds. You can rally a

few of the masterminds who believe in your works and
who can share a few minutes with your audience. This
will be done exclusively, only for those who buy your
book. You can use Zoom or Facebook group for this
access. When they see that they're going to access other
powerful minds, it tickles.

- Access to you in person or virtual. Beyond just buying

your book, you need to know that people see you as an
authority. There's just something about being able to
author a great book.

When I talk to some people, they see me as a "spirit" for

having written the things I've written. Laughable, but it's
15
the truth.Giving them access to me in an exclusive place
to ask me questions and tap from my powers is something
they cherish.

A physical meeting can do wonders because your

presence in the room can be quite ethereal. A bookshop
can be used for this, but if a physical location doesn't
work, a Facebook or WhatsApp group can suffice. They
ask you questions and you answer. That's a superb thing
to do.

May your book sell on Black Friday.

16
Tip 5
START YOUR
CAMPAIGN EARLY

Against what people are thinking that the pandemic will

affect Black November sales this year, I think it would be
a mad swing. Around the globe, many people will be
home and this will be an opportunity to buy things for
cheap. International flights have started and borderlands
are reopening.

So...join the buzz right away.

This is not the time for all those "Please buy my

book" pleading posts. Many authors I know have a

17
whacked way of marketing. You've got to go look at what
people are doing globally to make sales. Go to Amazon
and have a feel of what the authors in the bestselling
category are doing. Look at their keywords, descriptions,
landing pages, blurbs, and the things that make them
rake in sales. Join their mailing lists and replicate their
strategies to suit your locality or audience. Don't copy
verbatim, but tweak intelligently.

Optimize your author landing pages for easy

viewing on mobile devices. A lot of sales will be made
with phones this year compared to laptops. I'd have loved
to describe everything a great landing page for a book
should have, but you can take a cue from
www.worital.com/ybws.

From the heading to the reviews to the purchase buttons,

you can see what it took to design a great and converting
landing page. Most importantly, make sure that your
landing page can handle increased traffic. Your web
managers must make sure of that. Your checkout process
should be smooth, but it's also great to give people

18
opportunities to reach you or your team directly from the
landing page.

Begin your buzz now. The essence of the campaign

buzz is to heighten anticipation as the week draws near. A
buzz may be worthless if there's no place to route those
who are keen on reaching out when the cart is opened.
Design a routing system. For me, my current Facebook ad
routes people interested in my (a webinar that teaches
how I was able to make N3.8m in 60 days selling my book,
Your Book Will Sell)directly to my WhatsApp. Once on
my WhatsApp list, their contacts are saved to my Gmail,
they are added to a broadcast list, and email list and
notified infrequently before the day comes.

So, create content daily on your social media channels.

Do emails.
Do live sessions on your pages.
Keep the buzz alive.

May your book sell on Black Friday.

19
Tip 6
CREATE ADD-ONS

Add-ons are those things that you can create between

now and Black Friday that can be also sold separately
even when the Black Friday offer is over.

I'll share what you can do...

In your area of expertise, there are problems people

experience that you have solutions to.

For example, in my field of business consulting, there are:

Ÿ Culture problems
Ÿ Staffing problems

20
Ÿ Process problems
Ÿ Content creation problems
Ÿ Branding problems
Ÿ Productization problems
Ÿ Marketing problems

And lots more.

Find them. They are many in your area of expertise. From

today, and for all the days before Black Friday, take time
to:
Ÿ Identify at least 20 problems that are in a bracket.
(Let's say in marketing, what are 20 problems that
bedevil business people)
Ÿ Fashion 20 solutions to those problems.

Create 20 prerecorded videos of about 5 minutes each

then invite 20 people within your circle who are experts
and use StreamYard to interview each of them for 10 to 15
minutes. It's so easy to do.

You can also do podcasts if you want. Anchor FM is such a

great platform to use. You can interview 20 people for 10

21
minutes each using Anchor FM giving you 20 resourceful
podcasts!

These add-ons can be sold along with your book on Black

Friday. Those who buy your book can have access to them
if they buy within 72 hours. Make sure to market this
alongside your book.

Where can you host them? Very simple.

If you don't have a website, a simple Dropbox or Google

Drive link can suffice. If you've got heavier files, you can
use WeTransfer to host them. You can also host them on
YouTube in the censored section. It means it won't be
available to the public, but to only those to whom you sent
the links to.

After Black Friday is over, those resources can be sold

separately. You can either sell them in singles or ina bulk.
Imagine that you have 20 recordings and you sell each at
$5 apiece, thatis $100. If you want to sell as a bunch, you
can do so at $50.

22
Awesome, right?

May your book sell on Black Friday!

23
Tip 7
GOT MERCHANDISE?

You see, as an author of so many books, my advice to you

would be to never stop at just authoring a book.

Think merchandising!

Look at Grant Cardone. Look at his 10X merchandise and

as an author, you can replicate what he does. Those
things can make money for you.

The following merchandise can be made for your book.

Ÿ Planners
Ÿ Headgears

24
Ÿ Briefcases
Ÿ Tees
Ÿ Paintings done from words in your book.
Ÿ Traveling bags
Ÿ Pens
Ÿ Mugs
Ÿ Water cans.
and lots more.

When you visit Amazon to buy stuff, they will always

show you "Those who bought this also bought..." They
hope that you will buy more before checking out. The
more you buy, the more money they make.

For Black Friday, it's an opportunity for people to see

other things you have on display - books, and
merchandise. Because they're coming because of
discounted sales, you need to let them know about your
other books too. And merchandise, too!

Once a reader has read a book of yours, they will want to

buy other books so they should know how to find those
books. Your website is a place for this to happen. Do you

25
have a website? If you don't, you need to have one. Even if
you can't set up, there are applications you can quickly set
up.

For a one-page website, Disha.ng is a place you can

quickly set up. Your WhatsApp can be your e-commerce
store. A website like WhatsHash.com can enable you to
create a WhatsApp e-commerce store.

You should promote your other books and merchandise

in the back of every single one of your books.

Get people to know your brand.

Get them connecting with your brand.
Get them buying other works of yours.

May your book sell on Black Friday.

26
Tip 8
KEEP SELLING!

As an author selling never stops.

Some people will keep giving excuses to buy till the last
day. Yet, they'll not buy because a few things got into the
way. You need to be prepared for such folks and extend
your offer by 72 hours.

Note that the buying mood extends into December, so

prepare to rinse and repeat the strategies you've adopted.
If possible, get better at them.

Keep sending emails.

27
Keep pounding your social media with lots of sweet
content.

Send reminders.

Fill your Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp stories

with sweet content.

By all means, keep selling!
