ISSUES MANAGEMENT
The KMC has issued a warning to doctors about using internet consultations - The growth of
websites and mobile applications that connect patients with physicians has sparked new concerns
about the practice's ethics. The KMC has recommended doctors not to engage in internet
consultations, citing a violation of the governing body's code of ethics. "Such consultations are
harmful to both patients and doctors, and can lead to a slew of issues, which is nothing more than
messing with a patient's life." The KMC may potentially take action (including suspension and
termination of registration) against doctors who conduct online consultations."
The management decision follows a complaint, and even the Indian Medical Association has
demanded clear instructions from the Medical Council of India (MCI) on the topic of telephone
prescription and internet consultations, stating that the practice is unlawful and unethical.
BAD PRACTICES
Based on primary data acquired, we discovered that KMC does not adhere to regular shift
timings for personnel, particularly nursing staff, causing these employees to be
dissatisfied with their jobs and to engage in unethical behavior. For example, missing
regular checks.
KMC hospital collaborates with medical institutes, so students are permitted to practice;
nevertheless, because to carelessness and poor administration, the course of treatment has
been disrupted, and many people have died as a result. Despite the fact that management
is aware of such unethical acts, they are attempting to keep everything internal and hide
the problems.
Because KMC hospital has an in-house pharmacy, patients must obtain their medications
from there as prescribed by doctors.
