"Intensive textbook study"

The textbook is the material on which teachers spend most of their time and devote
most of their efforts to study intensively ". They study it constantly throughout the school year
when they teach it. First, they work for an understanding of " what it is". They study how it
interprets and illustrates the ideas in the (standards), why the authors structured the book in a
certain way, what the connections among the contents, are what the connections are between
the content of a certain textbook and its predecessors or successors, what is new in the
textbook compared with an old version and why changes had been made and so on. At a more
detailed level, they study how it's unit to the textbook is organized, how the content was
presented by the author's and why?

To Teaching materials is extremely important. To study teaching materials is to study

what we are to teach and how to teach it to our teacher (in other words, to finds links between
the knowledge and the student. The student teachers from normal schools doing their student
teaching with me usually can't understand why we spend so much time studying teaching
materials and what we learn from studying. From them, it seems to be too simple and to plain
study: there are just several examples problem, one of which you can solve in a minute and
explain to students in two minutes, but I told them that even after teaching for more than 30
years every time I study the textbook I see something new. How to inspire students" mind, how
to explain in a clear way, how to spend less time and let's students benefit more, how to
motivate students to learn this topic. your answers for all this question are supported by a deep
and broad understanding of what the teaching materials is about. And every you study it; you
get a better idea of what it is and how to teach it. You never will feel you have nothing more to
learn from studying teaching materials".

(Teacher Mao, as quoted in knowing and teaching Elementary mathematics, MA (1999, pg. I-
35).
Week 1

This is the first week of deployment for our practice teaching, meeting with the
teachers specially, my cooperating teacher and new course mates, but most of the student
teachers are already my friend since when I was in high school, we're glad to see each other
grabbing this opportunity in this course.
Week 2

This is the second week of my practice teaching, teacher Jeffry and me are assigned to
receive the modules from DepEd. And arranged it properly for the inventory and to distribute
the modules become easily to the receiver.
Week 3

In the third week we experienced gardening for the improvement of the school garden of the
school campus. Teacher Jayson and Student teachers are felling happy while doing these
grateful experiences.
Week 4

For the fourth week in practice teaching the boys helped for the preparation to our School,
we put an arrow for the entrance and exit for who will returning and receiving modules
inside the campus.
Week 5

This is the week for clean and green. All student teachers cooperate everyone to clean the
sitting area of the campus, stage, and flagpole. We also helped everyone in painting,
arranging flowers base and other school design.
Week 6

The teachers and student teachers are very busy for the validation of the school for the
limited
Week 7 face to face classes. And finally, before the visitors arrived our classroom are already
prepared for validation.
Week 7

This is the week of the conducted simulation, and this is also the first day wherein we met
the students of Salvacion Elementary School. Although it is rainy day because of bad weather,
the pupils and parents has come just to cooperate in the simulation.
.

Week 8

This is the week wherein I think everyone is cramming for the preparation of lesson plan for
the final teaching demonstration, we check the returned modules, and arranging our rooms
for the preparation of the face-to-face classes. And making our lesson plan in vacant time
Week 9

This is the few days of my practice teaching. I feel so lucky by this experienced because of
giving a chance to talk to the front of the learner's and to teach the pupils. We also conduct
home visit for the learners. I have learned some unforgettable knowledge and skills by this
experienced
Domain 1. CONTENT KNOWLEDGE AND PEDAGOGY

This is the day of final teaching demonstration wherein I feel grateful for this amazing
experience. I have really enjoyed my student teaching experience despite all of its hardships
and challenges. I found myself in very low points but also in very high points throughout the
semester.

If have given a chance to this profession to be a future teacher I cannot wait to build
relationships with my own students. I realized the importance of forming this open and loving
community. Although the end of the semester is sad and sentimental, I am happy to see how
far I've come as a teacher and the development of my relationships with the students.
Domain 2. LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

For the preparation of the limited face to face we experienced to manage the classroom
by making design to make it presentable. We also prepare all the requirements for the safe
implementation of limited face to face classes in line with the standards set in DepEd-DOH.
Domain 3. Diversity of learner's

This is the day wherein we conduct home visit review to guide and teach some of the
selected pupils. This experience, I have noticed that some teachers value the importance of
getting to know as much of each student as possible in terms of family, background, interests,
backgrounds dislike and learning style. Every teacher starts developing a student profile which
they know will help provide deeper understanding of their student’s unique interests styles and
abilities.
Domain 5. ASSESSMENT AND REPORTING

The assessment is one of my concerns on teaching and learning process. It is not only
because of my obligation as a teacher, but also many problems and issues that happen in our
country related to the fairness of assessment.

This assessment taught me that teaching is not only teaching the material, but also
giving the meaningful learning experience for my students. Teacher must motivate their
students to improve their performances. The important part of the application of the
assessment is teacher willingness to work hard to apply the assessment which can appropriate
to assess their students’ performance.
Domain 6. COMMUNITY LINKAGES AND PROFESSIONAL ENGAGEMENT

Everyone cooperates the simulation and brigade skwela ( Bayanihan sa paaralan ) we all
accomplish cleaning classrooms, well maintained learning tools, and attractive landscaping
inspiring students to go to schools. There lots of benefits come with brigade skwela, it saves
resources on the part of the school it builds oneness and cooperation to stakeholders where
their camaraderie among them develops, the learning of the students is ensured, the
cleanliness of the facilities becomes pleasing and inviting.

Domain 7. Personal Growth and Professional Development.

Based on my experiences, being a teacher are not easy as many people think. To be a teacher
does not only imply to know the subject to be taught, it also includes being willing constantly
improve oneself integrally, as much as updating the resources and materials one uses in
teaching.

Throughout my times in every school. I have grown a lot as a person. Before university I
was incredibly and socially awkward. While others seemed excited to be as an independent, I
feared leaving the comports of home, however living away from home, cooking for myself and
being responsible for my own wellbeing has helped me to become independent person.
My Education Philosophy

My teaching philosophy has come from my own personal experience with education.
So many years of learning, teaching, and understanding the importance of education.
Therefore, my mission as an educator is as follows, I am here to promote learning in a positive
form. I am here to encourage students to be motivated to learn. As well, I am here to provide a
strong foundation for a lifetime of learning. Motivating learning through problem solving and
critical thinking exercise to improve students’ level of awareness and understanding. This
philosophy of teaching statement reflects my core belief that teaching, and learning is best
accomplishment through positive collaboration.

I believed that a true educator must go beyond imparting general knowledge,

developing, reasoning, and thinking skill to his/her student. He/she must know the learning
needs of each student, as each student is unique, and education is diverse.
