1. Who Should Use This Document

This Document is intended for those interested in the overall


ACONIS functional capabilities, those interested in the ACONIS
interconnection with other systems, and those interested in the
ACONIS configuration.

This includes the following personnel:

1. Hardware Engineers

2. Software Developers

3. Database Maintenance Technicians

4. Console Operators

CHAPTER 2: Recovery Software


Recovery Software

1. General Description

 This Chapter explains how to recover your ACONIS server.


 It’s made by detailed procedure based on step-by-step Installation.
 Make sure to back up important data, before Recovering ACONIS server.
Recovery process will initialize your server, therefore you may lose all data.
 Now, follow each step, and you can complete recovering your server without any
mistake.
 Norton Ghost is used for recovering your Aconis server.
 Symantec and Norton Ghost are registered trademarks of Symantec Co.

2. Preparation

 STEP.1
- Insert ACONIS2000 Recovery CD #1 into CD-ROM.
- Reboot your OWS.
- OWS will boot on Recovery CD with the following message.
- If you are asked to boot on CD, then press any key.

 STEP.2
- If successfully boot on CD, you’ll see the same screen as below.
- Press “Enter” key to select choice 1.

 STEP.3
- Then you’ll see several messages about preparing Recovery process. Just wait till
the next screen comes up.

3. Emergency Recovery (Using Norton ghost)

 STEP.1
- You’ll be asked to agree to License agreement of Symantec Co.
- Press “OK” to proceed.

 STEP.2
- You’ll be asked whether partition size is correct or not.
- Press “OK” to proceed.

 STEP.3
- You’ll be asked to whether proceed with disk restore.
- Press “OK” if you don’t have any data to back up on your server.

 STEP.4
- Now you’ll see the proceeding status with bar graph.
- Wait till a pop-up window asks you to replace CD 1 with CD 2.

 STEP.5
- When it reaches about 75%, you’ll be asked to insert CD 2.
- After replacing CD 1 with CD 2, press “OK” to proceed.

 STEP.6
- When it reaches 100%, you’ll be asked to whether continue or reset computer.
- Remove CD from your CD-ROM, then press “Reset computer”

4. End of Procedure.

 STEP.1
- After pressing “Reset computer”, your server will reboot with Recovered data.
- When your server boot successfully, you’ll see an Error message.

 STEP.2
- Ignore the error message.
- Reboot the ENTIRE system to synchronize the whole data.

5.ACONIS Server Restore Proc.

1. Remove the Lan cables(2 cables).


2. Restore system with ghost CD(Recovery CD) : The above procedure(Item 1-4)
3. rebooting( restart )
4. Change the network IP as follows;

(1) My Network Place 에 right click

(2) In Properties Window, Right Click on Local Connection 1

3) In Properties window, select the Internet Protocal(TCP/IP)

(4) Set the IP Address


ex) ACONIS2 : 10.8.1.202
ACONIS3 : 10.8.1.203

5) In Properties Window, Right Click on Local Connection 2

then repeat (3), (4)


Caution : You must set the IP Address, start 11..

ex) ACONIS2 : 11.8.1.202


ACONIS3 : 11.8.1.203

5. Change the Computer Name


(1) My Computer icon 에 right click

(2) select ‘Network Identification’ tab, click the ‘Properties’ button

(3) Change the ‘Computer Name’


ex) If N0.2 CRT , You must change “ACONIS2”
If No. 4 CRT , You must change “ACONIS4”

6. Connect the LAN cables again (2 cables)


7. Restart the computer
