1. Are there any environmental problems in your country?

Yes, like other nations, my country is experiencing several issues in terms of the
environment. The most serious problem might be poor air quality. If you have
to commute in the early morning, you would face smog, which makes it
difficult to see. And this polluted air is really harmful to our health.
Besides, climate change is also another environmental issue.

Yes, I’m a nature lover. Though I’m up to my ears inwork, I usually spend the

1. Describe an environmental problem that has occurred in your country

You should say:

 The cause of the problem


 What effect it has had on your country
 The steps, if any, that have been taken to solve this
 Explain why you think this problem is so important to solve.

I’m gonna talk about air pollution, which is one of the most severe
environmental problems in my city.

This issue is caused by several reasons. Firstly, due to modernization, private


vehicles become more affordable for people from all walks of life. This leads
to the fact that there are more and more cars, trucks and motorbikes instead of
bicycles commuting on roads. As a result, the amount of exhaust
emissions stemming from these modes of transport increases, and therefore the
atmosphere is contaminated. Secondly, more factories and power plants built
also contribute to air pollution.
As regards actions taken to solve this problem, people should use
environmentally-friendly transportations like bicycles or buses instead of their
private vehicles like cars or motorbikes. Another action might be that it’s the
government’s responsibility to plant more trees in the city and encourage their
citizens to plant trees at home.

Of course, it’s vital for us to come up with other solutions to mitigate this issue


as soon as we can because of its clear detriments. You know, breathing in such
severely polluted air can be very harmful to our health. To be more
specific, long-term exposure to air pollution might lead to several
diseases associated with heart, lungs, cancers and other health problems. In
addition to that, the severity of polluted air causes the high frequency of smog
in the morning, which makes commutersdifficult to see. As a result, there might
be more traffic accidents occurring in my city. That’s why it’s important for us
to control air pollution.

1. In which way do people damage our planet?

Human beings have triggered a number of environmental problems during the


last several decades. By dumping waste indiscriminately, they cause water
pollution that occurs in many places. In addition to that, the constructions of
numerous factories and the intensity of vehicles contaminate air, which leads to
air pollution. Also, humans damage our planet through their small habits. For
example, people nowadays usually use disposable items like disposable plastic
containers or spoons instead of recycled ones, which adverselyaffects the
environment.

Well I suppose climate change would be the most severe environmental


problem that humanity is facing. We’re experiencing long
summer heatwaves that lead to  prolonged droughts every summer. In
addition to that, unstableclimate causes rising sea levels, and therefore flash
floods occur more frequently. These consequences inflict enormous damage
to people and property.

Yes, I would like to believe so. Since people are more and more aware of
serious environmental problems, they come up with solutions to improve the
situation. As you can see, an increasing number of people travel by bike or bus
instead of their own cars or motorbikes on a daily basis. In addition to that,
more businesses pay attention to environmentally-friendly items. For example,
they choose to use paper bags to replace plastic ones in the past.
