Introduction

The aim of the assignment is to bring north Wiltshire hardware into the future as they have
been using the same computers for a long time and they need upgrades.

The purpose of installing and maintaining hardware

 Compatibility: installing this is a main source as you would make the hardware
and software compatible with the computer system.

 Change in system functionality: The change in system functionality could cause


problems.

 Upgrade: to upgrade the technology and computers for north Wiltshire hardware
Improve productivity:

User requirement description

The client has many needs like upgrades to the technology making everything run
faster and be of better quality as all the computers and technology they have now are
old and slow. North Wiltshire also want to expand geographically meaning they need to
upgrade.

Installation activities list Upgrade the two hard drives to two 1 TB
ssds for system 1 and 2 also upgrade the
ram to 8-16GB ddr3 for system 1 and for
system 2 will need at least 8GB of DDR2
RAM.
Maintenance activities list Back up the hard drive and install the two
ssds and take out the old ram and install
the 8-16GB ram into system 1 and install
8GB of DDR2 RAM into system 2 and
reinstall windows to both the systems
and boot the systems.

With all my final decisions it will have upgraded and make the pcs better like the
client’s requirements asked for. With all these decisions I’ve made it will improve
their systems and they will be happy with the new upgrades.
