Regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health.

Exercising can
improve our health and reduce the risk of developing several diseases like type 2 diabetes, cancer and
cardiovascular disease. Being active has an impact on the muscular system and works to develop and
strengthen it. Exercise delivers oxygen and nutrients to our tissues and help our cardiovascular systems
work more efficiently. And when our hearts and lungs health improve, we have more energy to tackle
daily chores.

Exercise may also change levels of chemicals in the brain, such as serotonin, endorphins and stress
hormones. If you start exercising, your brain recognizes this as a moment of stress. These endorphins
tend to minimize the discomfort of exercise, block the feeling of pain and are even associated with a
feeling of euphoria. In this way, it can lift our mood and improve our sleep patterns.

And a way to ensure regular activity is to make a physical fitness program. Consistently following a
physical fitness program will get us into good shape and bring us lots of health-related benefits. Having
this physical program is essential because it’s arguably the best thing we can do for our state of health
and wellness.

All these go a long way to boosting our morale, self-esteem and confidence – no matter what the age is.
But we need to be responsible and consistent to make sure that we are addressing our health and
fitness needs.
