Micro-Project Report

Mobile Generations And 5G wireless network

1. Rationale:

Recent developments in the wireless technology has made the communication

more and reachable to all peoples. In one way the demand for mobile
communication needs the integration of wireless networks into the existing
fixed network like local area network(LAN), wide area network(WAN) etc.,
Otherwise we can say that, it needs advancements, adaptability and
compatibility over the mobile services provided by various mobile generation
technologies like 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G. In this report we deeply discuss about
the growth of Mobile generation technologies from 1st Generation to 5th
Generation. And this report gives an idea about how these technologies are
operating and providing increased performance over the earlier generation and
their merits and applications.

2. Aims/Benefits of the Micro-Project:

To implement a report on Mobile Generations And 5G wireless network.

3. Course Outcomes Achieved:

1. Analyze the functioning of the Data communication and computer network.
2. Select Transmission media and switching techniques as per need.
3. Analyze the transmission errors with respect to IEEE.
4. Configure various networking devices.
5. Configure different TCP / IP services.

4
4. Literature Review:

From the very first technology 1G in which information was exchanged in form of
basic voice signals while the 2G came up with many add on features with new capacity
and coverage capability. This followed by the 3G which was designed to achieve
greater speeds with mobile broadband experience. 4G which is developed later which
provide wide range of telecommunication services than present technologies. The
development of new research of communication given name 5G will come up with
much greater speed, exceptional applications, Quality of Service (QoS). This report
will provide a review of the earlier generations of mobile generation and on the present
technology and a glimpse on the upcoming technology in future.

5G technology going to be a new mobile revolution in mobile market. Through 5G

technology now you can use worldwide cellular phones and this technology also strike
the china mobile market and a user being proficient to get access to Germany phone as
a local phone. With the coming out of cell phone alike to PDA now your whole office in
your finger tips or in your phone. 5G technology has extraordinary data capabilities and
has ability to tie together unrestricted call volumes and infinite data broadcast within
latest mobile operating system. 5G technology has a bright future because it can handle
best technologies and offer priceless handset to their customers. May be in coming days
5G technology takes over the world market.

5G Technologies have an extraordinary capability to support Software and

Consultancy. The Router and switch technology used in 5G network providing high
connectivity. The 5G technology distributes internet access to nodes within the
building and can be with union of wired or wireless network connections. The current
trend of 5G technology has a glowing future.

5 Actual Methodology Followed:
First, we decided the topic for out microproject “Mobile Generations” And 5G Wireless
Network

Mobile Generations

1) Then we gathered information and researched about various mobile generations.

2) Then we collected the information about various generations of mobile through the
past few years.

3) We gathered information from -

/amp/

4) Then we prepared a report on mobile generations.

They are as follows-

a. 0 Generation mobiles

b. 1 Generation mobiles (introduced in 1979)

c. 2 Generation mobiles (introduced in 1991)

d. 3 Generation mobiles (introduced in 1998)

e. 4 Generation mobiles (introduced in 2008)

f. 5 Generation mobiles

5) Then we prepared a presentation on our topic 'Mobile Generations'.

Wireless 5G Network

I. We will focus on the materials we need, as well as the instructions and sort it out in
a manner which will expedite different responsibilities of the team members.

II. Cross check all the conclusions and answer.

III. The Selection of the topic will be done at the beginning by the whole team, then the
research on the selected topic then after the project is completed.

IV. Prepare a report on the topic.

7. Outputs of Micro-Projects:

1) 0G mobiles

Mobile radio telephone systems preceded modern cellular mobile telephony

technology. These systems are sometimes retroactively referred to as pre cellular (or
sometimes Zero Generation) systems.

2) 1G mobiles

Used analog radio signal. Introduced in 1980's used FDMA. The various standards--

NMT in Nordic countries-

Sweden, Norway,Denmark and Finland.

7
AMPS(Advanced Mobile Phone System) in the United States(1983) and Australia.
TACS (Total Access Communications System) in the United Kingdom.

3) 2G mobiles

It was launched in the year 1991 in FINLAND.

The technology of most current DIGITAL mobile phones- TDMA +CDMA Features
includes:

-Phone calls-Voice mail

-Receive simple TEXT messages, Speed:10kbits/sec

4) 3G mobiles

Japan was the first country to introduce 3G nationally, and in Japan the transition to 3G
was largely completed in 2006. Korea then adopted 3G Networks soon after and the
transition was made as early as 2004. Combines a mobile phone, laptop, PC and TV.

Features includes:

-Phone calls/fax-Global roaming

-Send/receive large email message-High-speed Web-Navigation/maps-

Videoconferencing

-TV streaming Speed: 144kb/sec-2mb/sec.

5) 4G mobiles

Features include:

-An efficient system.

-High network capacity.

-Huge data rate.

-Smooth hands off

-Seamless connectivity & global roaming.

-High quality of service.

-An all IP. Packet switched network.

6) 5G mobiles

Complete wireless communication with almost no limitations. It is highly supportable

to WWWW (Wireless World Wide Web). 5G technology providing large broadcasting
of data in Gbps .

8
Multi - Media Newspapers, watch T.V programs with the clarity as to that of an HD
Quality. Faster data transmission that of the previous generations.

9
