ABSTRACT

The purpose of the study was to improving students understanding on magnet by using hands-on activity. The subjects consisted of 23 students from standard 3 students in Batu Pahat area from an outstanding primary school. The data for this study was colleted by using rating sclaes, pre-test and post-test. During the treatment session, sudents are given hands-on activities to be carried on. The result showed that 21 students achived significantly higher marks in the post-test as compared to the pre-test. There were 9 subjects who obtained full marks, showing tremendous improvement in their performance in the post-test. Besides that, students show their interest in doing hands-on activity through rating scales. On the average, I get 4.44 with the full marks of 5. There was 7 students give me full marks. The results of the study show that hands-on activity is effective to improve students understanding in the topic of magnet. Since hands-on activity technique was so effective to improving students understanding in the topic of magnet, I will try to inculcate also in other topic, to see whether hands-on activity effective in all topic or not.
