Memoria Script

Maria wakes up in the woods confused and disoriented. She finds photos in her pocket that seem to jog her memory and lead her on a journey to different locations. At each stop she has flashbacks, though they only increase her confusion. The last photo takes her to a house where she has another flashback and finds a disturbing photo on the wall. When she picks it up, a hooded figure attacks her. The story then repeats back to the beginning, suggesting Maria is trapped in a cycle of memory loss, flashbacks, and assault.

Memoria

EXT. THE WOODS – DAY


Maria (gasps)
eyes shoot open in shock

Maria sits up, clutching her head in pain as she looks at her
surroundings, confused, dazed, until she reaches into her pocket
and pulls out some pictures with a confused expression on her face.

She starts to flick through the photos and starts to get up from the
ground and walks towards the first photo in the pile.

Maria
Hmm so according to this picture the clearing should be... over
there...

EXT. THE OUTSIDE - DAY

Maria walks out of the woods and onto the road, where she slowly looks
up and then starts to make her way across the crossing.
She gets across and then makes her way to a tree that’s in the photo,
when there she looks up in shock and white lights flash.

(FLASHBACK STARTS)

Maria
Walks over to Alice
What are you doing?

Alice
Looks up at her sister
Reading a book...(sarcastically) Duh.

Maria
Outside in the freezing cold?

Alice
(smugly) I find it refreshing

Maria
(Chuckles) Your so weird Alice

(FLASHBACK ENDS)

Maria looks down at the pictures, sorrow plastered all over her face
as she makes her way to the destination.
Maria walks and walks until she reaches the last photo in the pile,
the house. She stands in front of the house for a few seconds before
cautiously walking over.
As Maria gets closer the same sensation, she felt just minutes ago
returns, giving her another glimpse of the past.

(FLASHBACK STARTS)

Maria and Alice run up to the door of the house giggling and
snickering as Maria opens the door and they run inside.

(FLASHBACK ENDS)

Maria clutches her head in pain and looks around, scared as she
approaches the door of the house, opens the door and goes inside.

INT. HOUSE – DAY


Maria shuts the door and looks up at the stairs.

(FLASHBACK STARTS)

Maria walks up the stairs slowly and turns around to look back
and then turns around again and starts to make her way back up.

(FLASHBACK ENDS)

Maria seethes in pain and once again clutches the side of her
head.

Maria
What was that? I don’t remember that happening (Pause) I’m
going to go and investigate.

Maria starts to make her way up the stairs, cautiously and quietly as
she gets to the top, she sees an open door and decides to go that way.
She gets inside and looks around and suddenly gasps and drops the
photos on the floor in shock and nears the photo on the wall in front
of her.
She leans in and grabs the photo, looking at it with fear and terror.

Maria
Oh my god!

She takes a few steps back but as she does a hooded figure comes in
and grabs her, covering her mouth and suffocating her with their
hands, making Maria drop the photo on the ground.

The photo floats to the ground and it cuts to it being revealed and
then cuts to black.
EXT. THE WOODS – DAY

Maria
(Gasps) eyes shoot open in shock.

(CUTS TO BLACK)
