Reason (R): Each kind of cell organelle performs a special function leading to a division of labor in the
cell.
A. Both A and R are true and R is the correct explanation of A.
B. Both A and R are true but R is NOT the correct explanation of A.
C. A is true but R is false.
D. A is false but R is true.

7. State with reason whether the following position-time graph represents a possible motion of a body: 1

(2-mark questions)

10. A vehicle covers half of the total distance at a speed of 50 km/h and the remaining half at a constant 2
speed of 40 km/h. What is his average speed?

11. The table below shows the melting and boiling points of four pure substances. Which substance is a 2

moving through the very thin walls of tiny blood vessels called capillaries.
A. Name and define the process by which this exchange takes place.
B. We know that deoxygenated blood is brought to the lungs and oxygenated blood is sent to the
body from the lungs. Identify gases labelled A and B in the figure below.

13. A glass tumbler containing hot water is kept in the freezer compartment of the refrigerator 2
(temperature <0°C). If you could measure the temperature of the content of the tumbler, which of the
