B. Lesson Proper: Unlocking of Terms:

Festivals- a community event celebrating unique aspects of that community and its traditions, often
serving to meet specific religious purposes. These celebrations offered a sense of
belongingness for religious, social, or geographical group.
Religious festival- a festival celebrated in honor of a patron saint by the Catholic church.
Secular Festival or Non- religious festival -a celebration or merry making as a sort of thanksgiving
for a bountiful harvest,or showcasing the special products, artworks, and crafts unique in a
particular place.
Theater- is a collaborative form of fine art that uses live performers to present the experience of a
real or imagines event before a live audience in a specific place.

III- ABSTRACTION : Group Task: The class will be divided into four groups with 7-8 members. They will be
assigned to discuss collaboratively with their group the following topics:
Group A. Pahiyas Festival & Obando Fertility Rite Group B. Moriones & Ati-atihan Festival
Group C. Sinulog & Dinagyang Festival Group D. Santacruzan

Make a make a table similar to the one shown below. Fill in the column the appropriate information about the
festival assigned to your group. Choose a leader and a rapporteur to do the reporting. All group members should also
be given a task to say something about the festival assigned. Group output shall then be submitted after the reporting.
