Advantages and disadvantages

I will discuss all about the advantages and disadvantages of


Management Information System where in malalaman natin if
Malaki ba talaga yung naitutulong neto sa ibat-ibang businesses,
company or organization.
So lets go on the advantages:

1. It Facilitates planning: MIS improves the quality of organization by


providing relevant information for a better decision making. Sometimes
due to increase in the size and complexity of organizations, managers
have lost personal contact don sa mismong production area if yung mga
employees ba nila or laborer is enough ba yung time na pinapasok or
naaabot ba ng mga to yung quota nila everyday. For example is pag nag
dadaily log in or out yung mga employees or kapag merong scanning of
biometrics to monitor the attendance it can provide the right data for the
managers to create the right decision for their workers or employees
kung sino ba yung mga dapat na mawala na sa organization kasi nga yun
di pumapasok or laging late sa trabaho kasi nga yun magdudulot to ng
masamang result sa company.

2. Minimizes information overload: MIS change the larger amount of


data in to summarize form. So yun because of MIS maiiwasan yung
confusion ng mga managers sa mga over flooded data. Yung mga
isasave lang neto is yung mga important datas na dapat malaman and
mastored ng mga managers for the company and employees.

3. MIS Encourages Decentralization: Decentralization of authority is


possible by the help of MIS, So yun nga katulad don sa number 1, if
meron silang system na ginagamit to monitor the operations of their
employees. The MIS is can successfully used for measuring
performance and making necessary change in the organizational plans
and procedures.

4. It brings Co-ordination: MIS can facilities integration of specialized


activities by keeping each department aware of the problem and
requirements of other departments. It connects all decision centers in the
organization. So for example yung other department is may need na data
na makuha sa other dapertment is madali sila makakapag coordinate sa
isat isa by the help of MIS.

5. It makes control easier: MIS serves as a link between managerial


planning and control. It will help to improves the ability of management
to evaluate and improve performance ng organization. So yun nga like
sa mga namention ko kanina sa 1 and 3 MIS can help the managers to
easily control the organization by facilitating and decentralization. So
mas madaling makakagawa ng plan yung managers kapag nagkaroon ng
problema sa organization nila.and also by using computers they can
increased the data processing and storage capabilities.

So all in all MIS can assembles, process, stores, Retrieves, evaluates and
disseminates the information in organition

Disadvantages

1. Highly sensitive requires constant monitoring: Managers and


company owners have to learn skills to use MIS so hindi lang
basta basta yung paggamit ng MIS kasi if di maronong yung nag
operate and may nagawang mali possible na may mawala or
mabura lahat ng datas na nakastored sa MIS nila. And dahil din
sa continues innovation ng MIS, nagkakaroon ng mga new tools
na naiintroduced so need nila mag update sa latest latest trends
syempre di yun libre then doon magkakaroon ulit ng problem in
MIS and it involves extra fees and staff na expert sa field na
yun.
2. Quality of outputs governed by quality of inputs: MIS works
on quantitative data and not quality data that is can ba an another
problem of this system. So yun nga yung MIS it can store a lot
of data but if yung mga datas na ininput doon is not enough to
make a concrete plan or decision sa mga managers. So mag
rereflect to sa effectiveness ng plan or decision making nila and
if di maayos yung naging result yun yung magiging problema
which means the top management team can be fired at any time
and magkakaroon ng new team that will change company
policies and it will effects the overall company decisions and
employees’ interactions. So yun maninibago nanaman lahat.
3. Prone to hackers : MIS is online connected. So pwede itong
maaccess ng mga 3rd party people or yung mga hackers. So In
some cases, some sensitive data na nakatore sa MIS mo is
possible nilang makuha like yung mga credit card details ng mga
customers and other important datas na dapat nasa loob lang ng
company or organization. So dapat magkaroon or maginvest ng
high security for your MIS.
4. Lack of backups : So yun nga Yung MIS it can be your
big storage to store all of your files and datas so lahat ng
important datas ng organization or business mo or datas ng
costumers lahat yun nakastore dito, and if ever yung
nagoperate neto is lack of knowledge about the system
possible na in just one wrong click mawala lahat ng
important data na nakastore dito or kaya naman yun nga
mapasok ito ng mga hackkers and just get all of the
important datas and then inerase lahat ng data nandon.
Diba so mahihirapan na namabalik lahat ng datas or
possible na hindi na talaga mabalik so dapat magkaroon pa
rin tayo ng backups sa mga datas natin.
PS: So for me lahat naman ng disadvantages na to is kaya naman
gawan ng paraan or iwasan. Malaki ang maitutulong ng MIS
para sa productivity ng organization.
