Sub Topic : Chapter 05: THE BALL POEM by JOHN BERRYMAN
Learning  Students will examine and analyse the tolerance, acceptance, responsibility and other values

Imbibed  They recognize the tone and the message of the poem along with proper reading
Pre Requisite
Students are aware of the attachment with a favourite thing and the feeling of its loss

To enable students to comprehend the poem thoroughly and appreciate the central idea of the poem.

Opening strategy(ies)  Everyone loses something or the other in life. That’s moment when one has to be mentally

Methodology
 The teacher will ask a few questions about the loss of something in life.
Tell us about one thing which is close to your heart.
Would you be ready to replace it with something else? Why?
What would be your reaction on losing it?
 Critical Thinking : Students will share their experiences and feelings related to some loss in life.
Teaching Startegy
Explanation &  Teacher will introduce the students with the central idea and theme of the poem.
Discussion  Reading skill: Students will read the poem attentively and teacher will assist in getting the
meanings of difficult words.
 The students will go through the glossary given in the textbook.

Teacher will encourage the students understand the entire poem and the message hidden in it.

Closer Attachment with the things and the people (closed ones) gives pain and weakens us.
