WORK VALUES INVENTORY

Values are an important part in the career decision-making process. It is important to select career
options, which best fit your values. The list below will help you to identify those values that you think will
be important to you in your work. Your work values may change as work situations change. It is important
to evaluate your work values often.

Read each value and decide if it is always important to you, sort of important or not important to you.
Place an “X” in the appropriate box. The definition is there to help you think about the value. If your
definition is different, use your own definition when rating the value.

MY VALUES WORK STORY


Write a paragraph describing how you see your top 5 values in your work.
Honesty is one of my biggest values because it shows loyalty and trust with customers and
employees. When work is well organized and has a specific time, I work well, and I don’t get
stressed, when I can't find my work or when I don’t hand it in on time. Management is also another
important value for me because when a workplace doesn’t have a good manager or isn’t well managed
it’s hard to work in that environment and get along with your manager. Having good leadership is
also an important value because when there are good leaders, the workplace is well organized, and
the work is easier to complete and handed it on time. The last important value is creativity, when a
workplace works well on creativity and accepts it, you're able to work outside the box and let your
imaginations and talents take over.
