Forming Present Simple: We form present simple with s and infinitive forms as follows. Note es is used
for words ending in o and ch. Words ending in y but have a consonant as the previous letter change y to ies.

PRESENT SIMPLE NEGATIVE


We form the present simple negative with the auxiliary verb do. When you use an auxiliary verb, the
auxiliary verb follows the form rule and the main verb does not change. The auxiliary verb is followed by
not.
Example: George and Martha do not eat breakfast. Laura does not cook lunch.
In contraction form do not = don’t does not = doesn’t he/she/it does
