environments healthy

2. Instructional Materials - Powerpoint, pictures, activity cards, pictures of
different communities
3. Teaching Strategy- Think Pair Share, Cooperative Learning
4. Value Focus – Care for school, community and the environment

III – LEARNING ACTIVITIES


A. Motivation
- Show pictures of different communities: barangay, church, hospital,
school
Ask the following questions:
1. What is a community?
2. What are examples of a community?
3. What makes a healthy community?
B. Presentation
- Reading time: Read Lesson 8, pages 136-137.
- Explain the following:
1. Different communities:
o Location-based communities
o Identity-based communities
o Organization-based communities
2. Characteristics of a Healthy Community
3. Ask the pupil to do the activity in Gear Up! by pair.
4. Instruct them to count the number of YES they have checked and score
themselves based on their answers.
C. Deepening
- Ask the following questions:
1. What makes a healthy community and environment?
2. Why is a healthy community and environment important to one’s
health and safety?
D. Generalization
- Have pupils complete the following sentences:

2. One way I can help my community become healthy is…

E. Exercises
- Group the pupils six. Do activity below.
- Ask the class to enumerate the effects of a healthy community to people.
