Introduction
For some people, it is a forbidden art associated with sin and sorcery,
banned by various organized religions.
For others, it may be nothing more than wishful thinking, or an age old
hoax that just won’t go away.
To the intuitive seeker, however, it is a valuable system filled with startling
revelations about the self and others. It can explain people’s many different
personalities, be a great guide to healthy relationships and even aid us in
finding success and meaning in our earthly lives.
I am of course talking about the great language of the stars, astrology. This
ancient, cosmic science views mankind as not only being affected by genes
and environment, but also by the condition of our solar system at the time
of our birth.
During the course of this book, we will go through the basics of astrology,
before taking a close look at each of the 12 Zodiac signs, their unique traits
and meanings, their ideal partners, and how this information can help you
better understand the true spiritual essence of yourself and others.
Chapter 1:
A Concise History of Astrology
The origins of astrology date back as far as the ancient Babylonian
civilization, and it is most often credited with the creation of astrology. To
them, when observing the heavens, astrology and astronomy went hand in
hand. Originally, they believed there were five planets: Jupiter, Mars,
Mercury, Saturn and Venus.
In addition to these planets, there was the sun and the moon. All seven of
these heavenly bodies served a purpose. Each planet also had their own
powers. For example, as Mars was red, they believed that planet was most
closely associated with aggression and war. Back then, it clearly wasn’t an
exact science, but it was how the Babylonians were able to understand their
world and the planets around them.
Approximately 2000 years later, the Greeks began to use astrology after
studying Aristotle and Plato. It was then that astrology was considered a
science, and it was the Greeks who took the astral language to a whole new
level. They created the zodiac, which in Greek terms means circle of
animals . After decades of studying the moon and the stars, early
astrologers learned that it took twelve lunar cycles, or twelve months, for
the sun to circle around the planets and return to its original position.
From there, we have the horoscopes. Each person’s horoscope is relative to
the positions of the moon, sun, planets and stars at any given point in time.
Most detailed horoscopes use the location, date and time of the person’s
birth. Skilled astrologers are able to use the information provided to build a
detailed chart with loads of details regarding personality traits, signs one is
most compatible with, and predict probable future scenarios and challenges.
They can even go as deep as forecasting personal moods during certain
months, depending on which planet is in which house at the time. Astrology
is a wonderfully insightful science — if it is done correctly.
Although there are websites that can spit out information that may seem
relevant, it is mostly generalized and not tailored to anyone in particular.
The best way to know all you could possible know about your complete
astrological profile, is to have a professional reading by a legitimate, trained
astrologer.
Astrology as an occult science has waxed and waned throughout the
centuries, although today, interest in the topic is stronger than it has been in
a long time. There are practitioners in nearly every country in the world,
making sure that the gift that the ancients gave us still survives to this day.
If it was not a proven method, it would have disappeared a long time ago.
Let us now take a look at the fundamental concepts and functions of
astrology…
Chapter 2:
Astrology Basics - Putting It All
Together
There are four parts to astrology which include the planets, the signs, the
houses and the aspects. We will look at each of these individually to get a
better understanding of how everything comes together when studying
astrology.
For the purposes of astrology, there are still nine planets — even though
whether or not Pluto is actually a planet has been up for debate over the past
decade. Most recently, it was deemed a dwarf planet. Regardless,
astrologers would have still used the same data regarding the planets and
their relevance to astrology for centuries.
Let’s start with the sun and move through the planets, touching on the rules
and how often it changes signs:
1.
The sun rules your basic personality and changes between the signs on a
monthly basis.
2.
The moon rules moods and emotion. Even though the moon passes through
phases throughout the month, it actually changes astrological signs every
two to three days.
3.
Mercury rules mind and one’s ability to communicate. You’ll see Mercury
changing signs about every three to four weeks.
4.
Next up is Venus. Naturally the planet, also named for a Roman goddess,
rules love and attraction. She changes signs every four to five weeks.
5.
Mars rules over your drive and energy and switches signs every six to seven
weeks.
6.
Jupiter presides over luck, growth and wisdom. There is a huge jump in
time and Jupiter changes signs every twelve to thirteen months.
7.
Saturn rules over discipline, challenges and fears. The planet passes through
one sign every two to three years.
8.
Uranus rules change and originality, which switches signs every seven
years. Neptune is the planet for dreams and healing. It changes signs every
ten to twelve years.
9.
Finally, we get to the dwarf planet, Pluto. It’s responsible for power and
transformation and changes signs every twelve to fifteen years, though this
can vary somewhat.
The further you get away from the sun, the slower the planets rotate around
it, which is why those that are way out there only changes signs every few
years. As you can see, each of the planets (as well as the sun and the moon)
in their respective sign and house at any given time can have a major
impact on your life. For instance, have you ever noticed how your mood or
emotion can be affected by whether the sun is waxing or waning?
Personally, as a Pisces, the moon has a rather large impact on my mood and
I’ve found I’m much more emotional when the moon is full. I’m also far
more inspired to write, so even though it can be an emotional time, it is also
great for creativity! Let’s consider that a win.
Now that we’ve covered the planets (the energies), let’s talk about the
houses in which they reside. There are twelve houses, one for each
astrological sign. Unlike the actual astrological signs, the houses are simply
numbered and have no name. On the astrological chart or wheel, the houses
are arranged in a circle. It is not the same as the well-known zodiac wheel,
however. The zodiac wheel correlates to the Earth’s rotation around the sun.
The wheel of houses is directly related to the twenty-four hours it takes the
earth to rotate on its axis. This is where the explanation can get a little
tricky!
The zodiac wheel and the wheel of houses join together. Picture them as
two cogwheels. Separately, they can spin on their own, but when they are
joined and turn in unison, they rotate the zodiac signs through the houses. A
good example of this is two Pisces. According to most astrologers, all signs
are compatible with four signs in total, including their own.
Technically, those two Pisces should get along, have similar personalities
and matching moods throughout the cycle. This is not necessarily true,
however. If Pisces number one was born under the fish sign in the twelfth
house, and Pisces number two was born in the first house, this would have
created two incredibly different people.
This example circles back to the mention of daily horoscopes being too
general. Those are written under the assumption that everyone under that
sign was born in the same house. It just doesn’t happen that way. This is not
meant to knock daily horoscopes. I get them delivered to my inbox every
day and still read them. Some days, they seem pretty accurate. Others, not
so much.
Because each house contains a lot of detail, we are going to briefly cover
them. It is important to note here that of the twelve houses, there are four
that are considered the most important. They are the first, fourth, seventh
and tenth.
1.
The first astrological house represents the self. This is one of the most
important houses because it has everything to do with you . It can include
the physical body, appearance, self-image and self-identity. The planets in
this house have a great influence on personality and how others see you.
2.
The second house is all about what you value. From money to possessions
and talent to self-esteem. The second house kind of piggybacks off the first
in that it is about you, but it is self-value over personality. Possessions in
the second house include anything you might own from clothes to houses.
The second house also presides over how you spend and gain money. It also
deals with your own attitude toward possessions, wealth and how you
accumulate it.
3.
The third house is that of communication in your environment. This can
include coworkers, family and friends. The third house covers all forms of
communication within your environment, which encompasses phone,
messages, writing and even gossip.
4.
House number four, also one of the most substantial of the twelve, deals
with all things associated with your home. This involves both the childhood
and the present home. It also encompasses family, morals, and your roots.
The fourth house is said to determine where you will go at the end of your
life.
What’s amazing about this house is that it also rules where you come from.
It touches on reincarnation and past lives, meaning if you believe in that,
the fourth house will carry any karmic baggage left over from any one or all
of your previous lives. Whether or not you believe in past lives has little to
do with the effects of the fourth house. It deals in your emotions,
subconscious and home life. It is said the fourth house can also have an
effect on your parental relationships.
5.
In the fifth astrological house, we see creativity, pleasure and children. This
includes love, hobbies, drama and even gambling. This is where everything
is all about you and enjoying every aspect of your life. This house is not
considered one of the most essential houses, but it is where romance, love
and sexual relationships rule. Oddly enough, marriage is not considered in
the fifth house, but in the seventh. When the wheel was created, marriages
were contracts, not a sign of love and devotion to another person, which is
why it falls in the seventh, which we’ll discuss shortly.
6.
Day to day routines, diet, health and sickness fall under the sixth house.
This includes your job, taking care of family and the mundane daily tasks
like cleaning house. This house covers the quality of your work and how
much you put into these routines.
7.
On to the seventh house. Remember, this is one of those considered to be
especially significant. As we touched on in the fifth house, the seventh is
where marriage and personal relationships flourish or diminish. Lucky
number seven has to do with cooperation in relationships, business
partnerships, and marriage. It can also be where divorce, law suits, enemies
and quarrels take place.
Where the fifth house refers to love, the seventh is where we build long
lasting or permanent relationships. Once a couple has married, for instance,
we can safely say that they’ve moved from the fifth to the seventh house.
Here, you will see cooperative relationships, sharing and clues as to any
issues that may arise in marriage or any other relationship.
8.
Remember how we talked about the second house ruling individual
possessions? The eighth house is the polar opposite of the second. This is
where joint possessions come into play. For example, joint bank accounts,
homes owned by a couple, etcetera. This house is also quite confusing. It
seems everything that resides within it has nothing in common with each
other, or everything within it is negative.
This house governs taxes, wills, death, sexual intercourse, bankruptcy,
personal sacrifice and clairvoyance. It’s quite a ragtag group of things
we’ve listed. On the plus side, this house is also about transformation and
healing. It could be recovering from the death of a loved one or a personal
sickness. It is a house of transformation, so while many of the things listed
in this house are daunting or flat out depressing, it is where we can become
more powerful and it should not be taken for granted or feared.
9.
From the transformative eighth house, we move into the ninth house which
deals with religion, learning, morals, philosophy, travel, dreams, visions and
the higher mind. This is where we find wisdom, publish books, participate
in ceremonies and rituals. Number nine is where big ideas and thoughts
happen. Ultimately, this house is the things we encounter when searching
for meaning in life or things that occur within it.
10.
Of the twelve houses, number ten is the last of the four, highly essential
houses. Why, you ask? Because this is where honor, status, reputation,
professional careers and prestige reside. This isn’t about gaining material
things, but more for the success of social status and honor. Ten is where
your sense of duty, respect for authority figures and social responsibilities
lives. This covers the public aspects of your life as opposed to the daily
mundane routines as discussed in the sixth house.
11.
The eleventh house is that of larger groups like communities and
memberships. This is where hopes, goals, and humanitarian efforts thrive.
12.
Finally, we’ve come to the twelfth house. Here we see (or not) the hidden
self that includes the subconscious, our unconscious mind, habits from the
past, karmic debt, spiritual realization and even mental illness. The twelfth
house is also considered humanity’s collective unconscious.
Within the houses we see our astrological or zodiac signs. We’ll cover them
in depth throughout the rest of this book.
Before we delve into the awesomeness that is each astrological sign, we
will talk a little bit about the aspects, which is the flow of force between the
planets. Aspects are important when it comes to the interpretation of an
astrological chart. What the aspects are going to tell us are whether or not
we will struggle or if we will be at ease.
There are other, much more detailed things to discuss when it comes to
aspects. In simple terms, they are the connection between two or more
planets. Aspects also cover degrees of angularity, conjunctions, sextiles,
squares, trines and oppositions. These are the things an astrologer will be
able to explain in greater detail. For all intents and purposes what we need
to know is that aspects have a major effect on an astrological reading and
are key players in astrology as a science.
Chapter 3:
Astrological Divisions
In astrology, there are the masculine and feminine, known as dualities. Of
the twelve zodiac signs, six are feminine and six are masculine. Not to be
confused with male and female; this is not saying that some signs have
more female qualities and vice versa. Duality is the symbolic expression
within each sign, and how it finds balance with the opposite energy.
- Masculine signs are energetic and direct. They are outwardly focused, and
are strongest through their direct actions.
- Feminine signs are magnetic and receptive. They are self-contained and
are strongest when connecting with, and utilizing, their inner reserves.
- The six signs with Masculine Duality are Gemini, Libra, Leo, Aries,
Aquarius and Sagittarius.
- The remaining signs with the Feminine include Pisces, Taurus, Capricorn,
Cancer, Virgo and Scorpio.
After Dualities come the Triplicities. Here, the twelve signs are divided into
four groups, each containing three signs, thus the name “triplicities”. Each
of these are associated with an element: Earth, Fire, Air and Water.
- The three Earth signs are: Virgo, Capricorn and Taurus. These signs are
stable and practical.
- The three Fire signs are: Sagittarius, Leo and Aries. These signs are
enthusiastic and highly active.
- The three Water signs are: Cancer, Pisces and Scorpio. These are the
intuitive and emotional signs.
- The three Air signs are: Aquarius, Libra and Gemini. They are the
communicative and intellectual signs.
Finally, there are the quadruplicities. This is where the twelve signs are
divided into three groups, each of which contain four signs. This group is
where qualities are represented. Astrological qualities are Mutable, Fixed
and Cardinal. The sign’s designated quality directly correlates to how it
interacts with the outside world.
- Fixed signs include: Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo and Taurus. These are the
most resistant to change.
- Mutable signs include: Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces and Gemini. This group
are the most versatile, flexible and adaptable. They tend to go with the flow
and easily adjust to changing circumstances.
- Cardinal signs include: Cancer, Libra, Capricorn and Aries. These are the
most outgoing and enterprising signs. They are known as the initiators in
the zodiac.
With the basics of astrology out of the way, let us now move on to the main
part of the book, the famous 12 signs of the zodiac!
Chapter 4:
Aquarius — The Water Carrier
(January 20-February 18)

The first sign we will explore is Aquarius. Even though this sign is known
as the water carrier, it actually falls under the air category. Air signs are
thought to be social, communicative, rational and enjoy relationships with
others. They are often quite friendly and intellectual. All positive traits
come with some negative, and for Aquarius that is definitely the tendency
to be somewhat superficial. The ruler of the Aquarius is the planet Uranus.
The most compatible signs for Aquarius are Libra, Gemini, Sagittarius and
Aries. By compatibility we mean that those signs can be great friends or
lovers for an Aquarius. As friends, they may appear to be emotionally
detached from others. Once you get to know them on a deeper level,
however, you’ll find that they are a true friend. The Aquarius loves to cheer
people up when they are feeling sad, and can be quite comedic at times.
Although they enjoy deep, meaningful relationships with others, Aquarius
are also incredibly independent. They thrive on their freedom, and the
ability to come and go as they please. Attempting to tether them down or
restrict their movement will only make them flee. We wouldn’t go so far as
to say they are the most free-spirited sign, but they certainly do enjoy their
freedom quite a bit.
Aquarius can also be quite stubborn, which can, on occasion, lead to
failures, both in career and relationships. Regardless of there being mounds
of evidence to prove them wrong, they will continue to do things their own
way. Even though they are quite stubborn and often refuse to see the fault in
their opinion, they do not push their ideals on others. A great quality of the
Aquarius is that they have respect for everyone’s opinions, and they have a
great capacity to understand people’s various differences and viewpoints.
On the plus side, this sign is one of the friendliest of all twelve. They can
make friends anywhere they go, and are often revered by co-workers for
their networking capabilities. In just about any situation, the Aquarius is
comfortable with speaking to someone as though they’d known them for
years when in fact, they’d only just met them. Their extensive people skills
are rooted at their core, but they also need time to themselves. This sign
does well with meditation or yoga, things that give them the valuable alone
time they need. Connecting with something greater than themselves is of
great importance to this sign.
On the downside, if they are not given enough alone time, they can become
depressive and even resentful of those who have not allowed them their
space. As self-reflection is something that the Aquarius usually engages in,
their hobbies or extra-circular activities may seem eccentric to some. They
can also be prone to some serious loss of control. In general, it takes a lot to
push an Aquarius over the edge. They tend to keep things bottled up inside
until they can no longer handle it, at which point they explode.
Libra: Aquarius and Libra make for a fun, unpredictable relationship. Both
are rational, excellent communicators, sociable and carefree. It is important
to both that their lover be their best friend and that they are both intellectual
enough for stimulating conversation. When it comes to marriage, the Libra
is all about it. Aquarius, however, do enjoy their independence, and this can
be a huge step for them to take. Libra will be ready to walk down the aisle
long before the Aquarius, and this is where their communication skills will
come into play. Open lines of communication and compromise will help the
relationship last.
Sagittarius: This pair makes an amazing team. Both are forward thinking
and enthusiastic with super charged chemistry and a shot at being
soulmates. This pair has so much in common that their viewpoints are often
quite similar as well. Sagittarius are not necessarily detached, but they are
far from clingy, and the Aquarius will appreciate that. To outsiders, this
relationship may seem somewhat lacking because neither sign is the type to
enjoy public displays of affection. The opinions of others mean little to this
pair because, ultimately, they are happy.
Aries: Both signs are highly independent, which is great. This means that
neither part will feel suffocated by the other. Both signs have similar senses
of humor, and neither are overly emotional, possessive or jealous. The only
pitfall to this match is Aries’ sense of control in any given situation, which
may come off as clingy to the Aquarius.
Chapter 5:
Pisces — The Fish
(February 19-March 20)

Unlike the water carrier symbol for the air element, Aquarius, the Pisces
fish is a true water symbol. Their luckiest days of the week are Mondays
and Thursdays. The ruler of Pisces is Neptune. They are generally
compassionate, intuitive, wise and artistic. Pisces like, sleeping, spiritual
themes, solitude, music and are usually quite romantic. They do not take
criticism well, and loathe being witness to any kind of cruelty, or people
who consider themselves a “know-it-all”. Pisces also have a thing about the
past coming back to haunt them, and often dwell on things that happened a
long time ago. They are most compatible with Taurus, Cancer, Scorpio and
Capricorn.
Pisceans are popular with just about any crowd because they are easygoing,
and have a submissive nature about them that makes them less of a threat to
those they associate with. They are most often selfless, and will help out
others without expecting anything in return. As a water sign, they are quite
empathetic and highly emotional. Pisceans are also compassionate,
extremely faithful and caring individuals. A common trait that hurts their
well-being is that they tend to concern themselves with the problems of
others, rather than face and deal with their own.
This sign easily withdraws from reality, and prefers to spend a lot of time in
fantasy worlds. There, they can do anything — from being rich and famous
to living the life of a nomad; never settling down in one particular place.
They often believe that their best work comes from the outside world, or the
inspiration created by a muse. They find great pleasure in appreciating art,
and yearn to travel to exotic places.
Downside to being a Pisces who can feel the emotions of others is that
sometimes they worry themselves sick. They can also worry to the point
that they are indecisive, and fear making a decision because they don’t want
others to disagree with them. This sign can easily forget to finish a task and
might need a gentle reminder. They do not do well in managerial positions,
but excel as support staff.
On the upside, Pisces are empathetic to the plight of others, and feel sorry
for people whose lives are not going well. They usually believe what they
are told, and try to reach out to those in need. They are caring people who
feel deeply, even if it is not always apparent on the surface. They are
creative and imaginative, and know no bounds when they are supported by
their loved ones.
Taurus: This is a great match for Pisces, because Taurus is an authoritative
sign. This means they are strong willed and decisive, which works well for
the indecisive Pisces. Both signs are passionate, caring, romantic and loyal.
Taurus are stable and grounding, which provides the Pisces with a sense of
stability. The main issue with this match is career and money. Taurus tend
to be very materialistic whereas Pisces are not. Because both are balanced
signs, however, there is a lot of room for compromise.
Cancer: Of all the compatible signs for Pisces, Cancer seems to be the best
match. Both are intuitive, deeply romantic, caring and understanding of
each other. Their compassion and tenderness is the stuff romance novels are
made of. Cancers can be very moody and emotional, which seems like a
bad thing. The empathetic Pisces is able to see that their partner is
distraught and can react accordingly.
Financially, they are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Cancers like to plan
and budget while Pisces prefer to live in the now. Despite their difference of
opinion in this arena, Cancers and Pisces will be unlikely to argue over
finances. Both seek commitment and loyalty, and prefer to hang out at
home rather than going out to socialize. Pisces and Cancer also need alone
time, but because of their deep, emotional connection, they may not realize
this.
Scorpio: This pair connects on such a deep level that outsiders take note
and might be a tad bit jealous. Where Pisceans can be easy to manipulate,
Scorpio will take on the protective role and stop just about anyone from
taking advantage of their Piscean partner. Scorpio are stubborn and, in this
relationship, the Pisces is the most flexible. In this relationship, both can be
possessive, but not in an alarming way.
It makes both partners feel secure and loved. Scorpio is somewhat like the
Cancer in that they can be moody or paranoid at times. The fish is good at
sensing this, and will eventually get their partner to open up. This is what
will build a strong foundation of trust between Scorpio and Pisces, because
it is unlike Scorpios to feel like they can trust someone fully.
Capricorn: This is an intensely harmonious pairing. Each are imaginative,
but Capricorns have the practical approach to life where Pisceans are much
more care-free. Capricorns bring grounding and practicality to the
emotional relationship. The Capricorn partner is very ambitious, patient and
loyal. Capricorns are incredibly understanding of Pisces tendencies to have
insecurities. While Capricorns aren’t romantic in general, when they are in
a relationship with the perfect match, their romance has the potential to
blossom.
That is where the emotional, empathetic and inspiring Pisces comes in. If
anyone can bring out the romantic in another, it is the feely fish. Capricorns
can be much like Aries when it comes to finances in this relationship. They
are preoccupied with social status and material possessions, and have a hard
time understanding the Pisces generosity. Both signs can learn a great deal
from each other, and this partnership will benefit from compromise as well
as open communication.
Chapter 6:
Aries — The Ram
(March 21 -April 20)

This fire sign is ruled by Mars. Aries are confident, optimistic, courageous,
passionate and determined. They do well in leadership roles, and enjoy
individual sports and physical challenges. They can also be impatient,
aggressive, impulsive and short-tempered and will not find their calling in
any role or job that they are not able to utilize their dynamic talents.
Although this sign begins in March, it is actually the first sign in the
Zodiac. March 21 is the spring equinox, which is the beginning of the new
zodiacal year, making Aries the sign of new beginnings. The ram is
ambitious, impulsive, adventurous and energetic. They are usually very
intelligent, and develop new ideas which they immediately want to put into
action. They take on new challenges head on, but — because of their
signature impatience — they can get agitated if results aren’t immediate.
Aries make great, compassionate leaders in most fields. They are
responsible, and have a genuine concern for their subordinates. Because
they are a ‘take charge’ sign, they do not make good followers, and may
actually be unwilling to submit to or obey directions.
Because this is the first sign in the Zodiac, Aries have a “lead-the-way-and-
get-things-started” attitude. This also has to do with Mars being the ruling
planet for this sign. Fire signs take action, sometimes before they’ve
completely thought it through. Despite that, they have wonderful
organizational skills, and don’t like any sort of clutter in their environments.
Downside to this sign is when working a project, they focus solely on the
goal alone, and can appear selfish to others. As mentioned, they are usually
quite impatient, and if they are not promptly recognized for their hard work,
they can become sarcastic and rude.
On the upside, this sign is highly energetic and willing to work long hours
to complete a project. They generally take initiative, and in doing so,
experience new discoveries and breakthroughs. Incredibly thorough, Aries
have a knack for being precise. Their motto might just be, “live hard, play
hard.”
When it comes to compatibility, Aries get along best with Leo, Aquarius,
Sagittarius and Gemini.
Leo: This sign brings openness, sincerity and a big heart to the table. They
have no secrets, nor are they emotionally needy, both of which are things
the Aries can appreciate. The Leo/Aries match can be a powerful couple,
and together they often appear a bit scary to other signs. They are both
natural leaders, and in this relationship it will bring about a healthy rather
than harmful competition.
Both stubborn signs, as an Aries you might find yourself in a battle for
control in many areas of your relationship. A helpful hint in dealing with
Leos in this area is to praise or flatter them. Leo’s have a rather large ego,
and they find it difficult to say no to someone who is telling them how great
they are.
When it comes to arguments, neither sign tend to hold grudges, making the
relationship free of long-term bad feelings between the pair. The exception
to this rule is that of past lovers. There is a tendency for jealousy with both
signs. Make it a practice never to bring up an old flame or new, potential
flirts — especially during an argument. This works both ways. Neither sign
likes to hear about past lovers, meaning those relationships should be left
where they are.
Aquarius: This sign will draw the Aries in with their unpredictable nature
and unique style. Air and fire make a great match, and those elements are
typical of the analogy of Aquarius’ air being fuel for the Aries’ fire.
These signs are both rebellious, and neither need, nor seek, approval from
anyone else. They are fine having the love and understanding of each other.
They are both usually optimistic of future endeavors, and leave things in the
past where they belong. To these signs, there is no sense in dwelling on
things that cannot be changed.
Aquarius and Aries are as stubborn as they are rebellious. The Aquarian is
the least stubborn of the two and, in an argument, they will generally let
their Aries partner have their way. In instances where your Aquarius partner
does not relent, it is best to let them “win”.
There may be times where you might not fully understand your Aquarian
partner. Their quirks are unique to them, but in the end, it is all part of their
charm.
Sagittarius: With this sign, you’ll find a great exercise and sports-minded
partner. They will enjoy many of the same activities, and this pair will form
a healthy sense of competition. This can turn into an aggressive and
physical competition, but only if the two of you allow it to go that direction.
This also affects the sex life of the pair, where things will be “hot and
heavy” more often than not, due to the amount of pent-up, competitive
energies.
There is strong charisma between these two signs. Outsiders looking in will
see a happy couple that feeds positively off of one another. There are no
sickly sweet public displays of affection, however. These signs prefer to
keep those things private.
Sagittarius are adventurous by nature, but generally lack the leadership and
determination to embark on those journeys. They will look to the strong-
willed and natural leader in their Aries to lead the way.
Neither of you will be in a rush to make a solid, relationship commitment
— although Sagittarius will be in less of a rush than any other sign. There is
no need to be concerned, however, as it has nothing to do with the Aries’
personality in general. Even in perfect relationships where the next obvious
step might be cohabitation or marriage, the Sagittarius will drag their feet.
Gemini: This fluid and chameleon-like sign has the ability to mimic the
characteristics of their partner. This doesn’t make the Gemini weak,
however. Rather, this allows them to copy all of the good characteristics of
the Aries sign, while discarding the negative aspects such as the Aries’
tendency to be uncalculated and aggressive. Initially, your Gemini partner
may seem distant. Given enough time, though, they will be just as
passionate as the Aries.
In this relationship, your Aries sign is the one to take charge. Gemini are
great at letting you lead the way. While the Gemini is more intellectual,
whereas Aries are more physical, they are still a fantastic team. Because
Aries are strong leaders, they can convince their Gemini partner to hit the
gym or go on a hike with them.
On the other hand, your Gemini will be great for deep, meaningful
conversation — and maybe a friendly debate. Gemini are more thick-
skinned than any other sign, and are not easily offended. This is not meant
to be a challenge, however...
Chapter 7:
Taurus — The Bull
(April 21-May 20)

This sign falls under the Earth element, and is governed by Venus. Taurus
are reliable, practical, devoted, stable and responsible. They are also known
for their patience. With the bull as their animal, one might be led to believe
that Taurus are aggressive when in fact, the opposite is true.
Characteristically, Taurus are methodical and peaceful. Their actions are
deliberate while relaxed, and they enjoy everything sensual. This includes
food, sex, luxury and drink. Their love of luxury means that they will
usually obtain it by working hard and purposefully. Taurus enjoy music,
cooking, gardening and high quality clothes. They are not fond of sudden
change, insecurity or complications in work or life.
Taurus are incredibly stable, well-balanced and conservative. They are good
citizens who obey the law and love peace. Because they love luxury, they
are terrified to be in any serious debt, and will do everything they can to
maintain their sense of security. This makes the Taurus hostile toward
change. To them, the familiar is what keeps them in the lap of luxury, and
they will always want to keep the status quo.
This sign is also very keen-witted, and often practical over intellectual.
Once they’ve established an opinion, they are very unlikely to change it
regardless of popular consensus. Their unwillingness to change their ideals
makes them incredibly dependable and steadfast. They are just, and can
keep their cool in the face of any difficulty.
On the downside, they are stubborn and unwilling to change the ideals
they’ve adopted. This can make them quite difficult to get along with,
especially when it comes to cooperating on a project in school or at work.
In social situations, they are leaders that prefer to be held in high esteem. If
they are not, they might refuse to work and could try to find ways to
sabotage relationships or projects. Although they value the law and follow
it, if they see an authoritative figure they deem unworthy to lead, the Taurus
might seek to sabotage them as well.
On the upside, Taurus finish what they start. It is rare to see them leave
something undone. They think deliberately, and when they make a decision,
it tends to be the right one. If there is a reward of luxury or anything
sensual, they can be adaptable. They are very family oriented, and love to
spend time with their loved ones.
The best matches for Taurus are; Cancer, Capricorn Pisces and Virgo.
Cancer: Taurus’ Cancer partner is intuitive and affectionate. They will
understand their needs and enjoy spending time with them. They will
support the Taurus emotionally, and is the one who will give the
relationship the emotional depth it needs to thrive. The Taurus will find this
sexy as well as flattering.
This pair has a lot in common; Both enjoy financial security and working
toward it, family, stability in their partner, loads of affection and being
nurtured. Since family is important to both, opting to stay at home and
enjoy the company of those you love makes for an ideal Saturday night.
The only negative aspect to this match is that both signs are a bit jealous
and possessive. But, seeing as both are so affectionate and loyal, those
negative traits are not likely to manifest themselves in your relationship.
Both of your signs are stubborn and like to be in control. However, since
you are equally stubborn, it’d be hard for anyone on the outside to tell who
is really in the captain of the ship, so to speak.
Capricorn: This is a great match in its practicality and sensibility on pretty
much all levels. Your Capricorn will fall in love with your sensible and
cautious nature, while you’ll adore and admire their ambition, sense of
humor and work ethic. Because you are both conservative, neither will
embarrass the other. You are also both on the same wavelength, which
makes it easy to understand one another. Almost instantly, you’ll see
potential in this relationship. Because of this, it’s possible marriage or
cohabitation will be discussed relatively early on.
You and your Capricorn partner will see eye to eye on many key issues,
including commitment, parenting and finances. Your views on most
mainstream topics are quite similar, making for stimulating dinner
conversations.
Because both of you are quite sensible and incredibly hard working,
someone needs to take the lead when it comes to down time or vacations.
Everyone needs some good old relaxation, and if neither of you recognizes
this and takes the initiative, you might be in for a bumpy road. Date nights
once a week are good for any couple. Perhaps the both of you can utilize
your sensibility to plan ahead for family vacations, even if they wind up just
being a “staycation”. Downtime is a necessity, especially in a powerhouse
couple.
When it comes to style, both signs love antiquities, and this couple is likely
to decorate their home accordingly. Along those lines, each of you has a
tendency to form a sentimental bond with material possessions. This means
your garage may house all of your collective items rather than your cars.
Pisces: This is an interesting match. Pisceans are so selfless that they need
someone who will ultimately stand up for them, to make sure that they
aren’t taken advantage of. In this pairing, the Taurus needs to be sure that
they are able to love a caring, super sensitive artist. What is great about the
Pisces/Taurus match is that each partner has strength in areas where the
other is lacking. Ultimately, if you can get past the sensitive nature of the
Pisces, you’ll find an emotional and self-sacrificing partner in the fish.
Pisces do not like any sort of confrontation, and will often go to great
lengths to avoid it. This means that they are much more flexible than the
stubborn Aries, which means you will likely be the victor in almost any
argument. Remember, you can learn a lot from the Pisces, so on those rare
occasions when the argument becomes heated…listen to what they have to
say and keep an open mind. Your Pisces has an interesting way of looking
at the world, and the both of you can benefit from that.
Virgo: In this sign, you will find another stable and steady partner. Each of
you understand the other intuitively, and share a mutual respect for
productivity and responsibility. As a team, you complement each other well
in that your Virgo is organized and has a clever sense of humor, while you
are patient and have a strong character. The Virgo will also admire your
ability to understand the importance of deadlines, but not stressing out
about them. Virgos do tend to worry, however, and need their Taurus to
remind them that they will meet their deadline and not to freak out over it.
This partnership sees value in stability and commitment. You will feel
secure with your Virgo as they will with you. The two of you prefer an
evening at home with one another or your families over the loud, crowded
bar scene. Each of you also see eye to eye on many different topics.
However, Virgos do not do well with explosive tempers, which the Taurus
can sometimes have. It is best to try to avoid having an outburst in their
presence as they do not handle that type of behavior well.
Ultimately, this match is almost perfect. It requires very little work on either
side to make it a great relationship!
Chapter 8:
Gemini — The Twins
(May 21-June 20)

Gemini, with their twin sign, means they are elusive, complex, dual-natured
and contradictory. Their element is air, and their best day of the week is
Wednesday. The great Mercury rules this sign. Mercury is the planet or god
of youth, and those who fall under his sign tend to exhibit the behaviors and
faults of the youth. Being almost childlike means they are gentle, curious,
adaptable, learn quickly and are affectionate. This also means they can be
inconsistent, indecisive and nervous. Gemini love music, talking to anyone
and everyone — including strangers — books and magazines.
As twins, they rarely like to do anything alone. They are happy in groups
having meaningful discussions, sharing concepts and ideas or just having
fun. Gemini are great in any social situations. They can find and talk with
people they’ve never met, though to others it’d appear as though they’d
been friends forever. They are easy-going and adventurous by nature.
Traveling appeals to them, because it gives the Gemini the opportunity to
meet new and exciting people as well as learn new things.
As an air sign, Gemini have the tendency to have “airy” personalities that
draws people in. They almost crave intellectual stimulation and often push
the mental, physical and spiritual envelope. Gemini are gluttonous for new
experiences; Although they enjoy people, they will sometimes find their
adventure alone, although the time spent by themselves is limited.
On the downside, they must be the center of attention. All the time. If it
appears as though they’ve fallen out of the crowd’s favor, they will simply
leave. Unfortunately, this can include careers, relationships and friendships.
They need to feel important and because of this, they are prone to little
white lies. When they have taken to focusing solely on themselves, they
will be rude and often times unsympathetic to those around them.
On the upside, this sign is great with conversation, and are overall very
charming. They are interesting to listen to because they know at least a little
about almost everything. They are also quite funny and optimistic most of
the time. Because they loathe boredom, they have been known to make
their own fun.
Gemini are most compatible with Aries, Libra, Leo and Aquarius.
Aries: This pair compliments each other in almost every respect. You have
so much in common, it’s hard to believe you aren’t one in the same person.
Your Aries partner will rev your engine, and once your ideas are racing
toward the finish line, Aries will be there to act on those ideas. Together, the
two of you will have great end results.
Communication and excitement are key in this partnership. Aries will be
drawn to your intellect, while you’ll love their spontaneity. The two of you
are like muses who consistently inspire the other, meaning your Aries will
bring out the spontaneity and passion in you.
Since Aries are more aggressive by nature, this pairing allows the Gemini to
function as the think tank of the relationship. That means you’ll be the one
spouting ideas, while your Aries helps the both of you act on them. That
being said, both of you love starting new and exciting projects, but neither
have the tendency to finish them.
You each find something bigger and better to hold your attention for a
while, before moving on to the next project. Since this is a source of
constant entertainment, neither of you will concern yourselves with all of
your unfinished projects. Perhaps, one day, you’ll go back and finish them.
If not, it will stress neither of you out.
Libra: This is the stuff romance novels are made of. The Libra/Gemini pair
are so in tune with one another that other couples may become jealous. You
are both energetic, which is as good as it is bad. The only problem with this
much energy in a relationship is the possibility that you might wear the
other out.
Gemini are flirtatious by nature, and your Libra partner will hold your
interest where others were unable to. Marriage is important to your Libra,
and since you are both indecisive, you may change your mind about dates
and venues ten times over. Gemini are usually reluctant to take that step, but
your Libra partner will be worth the commitment.
Communicative, intellectual and highly analytical, either one of you are
sharing a new idea at any given moment. Sometimes, it might even be the
both of you simultaneously. Because of your intellect, debates in your
household will be lively, and if it winds up in an argument, neither will hold
a grudge; You are both forgiving, and forget easily.
The only negative aspect to this relationship is that the both of you like to
spend your money, and can be indecisive at times. This is where
communication is key. Make sure that both of you discuss major purchases
before indulging, to avoid any financial hardships.
Leo : Dramatic, bold and outgoing, Leos live life to the fullest. Gemini
aren’t quite as extravagant, but you’ll love the dramatic element to your
Leo. It spices up the relationship and, with them, you’ll always have fun
and exciting places to go to, as well as new activities to try. Like the
Gemini, your Leo loves to be in the limelight — which means there may be
a little friendly competition to be the center of attention. It will be fun and
light-hearted, as neither of you will try too hard to outshine the other.
Leos are incredibly charismatic, while Gemini are creative and intelligent.
Both are very affectionate, and enjoy bringing laughter to just about any
situation. Because you are both comedic, an appreciative audience might
make the two of you leading entertainers or hosts for a night.
Since both of you are flirtatious by nature, a few Leos can be bothered by
their even more flirtatious Gemini. If you see your Leo becoming
possessive, it might be a good time to discuss what each of you is
comfortable with early on, to avoid any confrontation over harmless
flirtation.
As with most matches, there is a negative aspect to this pair. Leos are
highly organized, while Gemini thrive on a little bit of chaos from time to
time. They often get distracted in the middle of a project, and won’t see it
through to completion, whereas the Leo will want to make sure it’s
completed on time and that it’s near perfection.
Aquarius: What’s great about this match is that, even if the love part of the
relationship doesn’t last, your friendship certainly will. Gemini are usually
unsure of what they want in a significant other, and your dynamic Aquarius
is okay with this. Aquarius will find your indecisive nature inspiring
whereas others might disagree.
Both signs are likely to be highly intelligent and great communicators
meaning there is an endless supply of insightful and fascinating topics to
discuss. Being objective is more important than letting emotion come into
play, and you will both switch between topics rapidly without leaving your
last talking point open. There are few signs who are appreciative of this
ability, and the Gemini/Aquarius couple does this well!
If one could call hating chores a negative side to this relationship, then
that’s all you’ve got. No one likes chores, though, and at the end of the day
you two are having so much fun — who cares if there is a sink full of dishes
or the carpet needs vacuuming?
Chapter 9:
Cancer — The Crab
(June 21-July 22)

A water sign, and ruled by the moon, Cancers are sentimental and deeply
intuitive. This is known as one of the most challenging signs in the Zodiac
to get to know. They are sensitive and emotional, and care tremendously for
their family and home. They are attached to the people around them and
prefer to stay near those they know.
They are highly imaginative, tenacious, sympathetic, persuasive and loyal.
They love any hobbies they can do at home, are artistic as well as
appreciative of art, they enjoy a quiet meal with good friends and relaxing
near the water. Sometimes, Cancers can be moody and pessimistic,
manipulative and insecure.
The crustacean symbolizes this sign for a good reason; Like the crab who
carries his shell on his back, typical Cancers are dedicated, loyal to friends
and family and stay close to home. They are all about everything that
revolves around their home, which mostly includes their close circle of
friends and their family. Once they find something that makes them happy,
the crab will hold on tight and never let it go.
The key trait for Cancers is that they are the type of person who needs to be
needed. They have to matter to someone and must be secure in their love.
They are brave, protective and courageous, which are a few of the best
qualities of this sign. If their needs are not being met, they can become
reclusive, shy, brooding and moody. Like most water signs, Cancers are
quite mysterious. When it comes to friends and family, they are quite
nurturing and gentle.
On the upside, these crabs have an odd sense of humor. They often find
things funny when others just don’t get it. They are great listeners, and are
empathetic to the plight of others. People who need someone to listen often
gravitate toward Cancers, because intuition tells them that they will
understand exactly how they feel. Cancers make outstanding friends.
Once you are able to get close enough to them, you’ll know you’ve made a
friend for life. Cancers are true to their loved ones, and do not use others to
benefit themselves. They are dependable and reliable. Like those drawn to
them for their loyalty, Cancers are drawn to others they know to be honest
— which makes it so they will reveal anything about themselves, if only
asked.
There isn’t much to it, but on the downside, Cancers can be clingy, insecure
and moody if they get the impression they might be losing a friendship. On
rare occasions they will lie, but that stems mostly from their insecurities
about being alone.
Cancers are most compatible with Virgo, Scorpio, Pisces and Taurus.
Virgo: This match is incredibly harmonious, and you will bring out the best
in each other. Intuitively, you’ll understand each other on a level not many
signs can. You have a lot in common, and each are supportive and stable in
all aspects of life. Your Virgo will constantly and consistently work to build
your self-confidence. This is great for the sometimes insecure Cancer.
On occasion, you can both be moody or unpredictable, but in this match it
is manageable. Your Virgo has the understanding and patience of a saint —
meaning they can take your mood swings in stride. Their natural stability
helps to ground you until your moods have passed.
Your Virgo is very loyal. They value security and stability in a relationship
just like you. Routine and order are important, and you are both organized.
Virgos are also very courteous, and are predictable partners. Both of you are
hard-working, even if it is for differing reasons. Your Virgo feels the need
to be productive, while you like to save for a rainy day. When it comes to
spending, both of you are conservative and frugal. You take pride in your
home and prefer to stay in over going out to party. The end result is the
same, and the two of you will respect each other for these similarities.
Negatively, the both of you are critical at times. You both have a tendency
to worry, and in this aspect you are somewhat unable to support each other.
This can lead to irritation or nagging that will eventually blow over.
Scorpio: Of the four, Scorpio is one of the best sign matches. You’re both
highly intuitive, empathetic, possessive, loyal and emotional. What’s great
about that is you’ll always make your partner feel more loved than in
almost any other match, and vice versa. You will be drawn to the strong
personality of the Scorpio, though both of you can be controlling in a
relationship. In this pair, however, Cancers feel at ease enough with the
Scorpio to let them take control of the situation from time to time.
Scorpios need more alone time to recharge than other signs. This can be
unnerving to the insecurities inside the Cancer, but if you are able to accept
this early on in the relationship, you’ll feel better about this space as time
goes on. It’s good to remember that this doesn’t mean there is anything
wrong, it is just what the Scorpio needs. If you misinterpret, it can cause
your Scorpio to become reclusive and possibly vindictive, which might lead
to the end of the relationship. Let them have their space, and your Scorpio
will be a happy camper.
There isn’t much to negative aspects for this match with the exception of
both being possessive by nature. When it comes down to the nitty gritty of
this relationship, however, it’s the possessiveness that makes the other feel
loved and secure.
Pisces: Considered an ideal match, the Pisces partner can use their empathy
to absorb your moods. This will ensure that the two of you are in constant
harmony. Being a fellow water sign, your Pisces will understand you on a
deeper level than most other signs are capable of. In this relationship, both
of you are equally sentimental and romantic. You give each other the
sensitivity, tenderness, stability and compassion the both of you need to
thrive.
Your Pisces will also need alone time to recharge. Deeply empathetic signs
like the fish usually absorb all emotions, both negative and positive, and
this can affect them adversely. They do not require as much space as the
Scorpio, however.
The Cancer/Pisces match is one that connects on an amazingly emotional
and spiritual level. So much so that the two of you can isolate yourselves
from the world. This can become the only negative aspect to this match in
that, if your moods sour, it would be difficult for you to cheer each other up.
That being said, you enjoy staying at home as opposed to going out.
Taurus: To the Cancer, Taurus is a great match. They are strong-willed and
know exactly how to get where they are going, so to speak. This is
comforting and inspiring to Cancers. Taurus will also support as well as
enjoy your emotional needs. They have the patience and maturity to be able
to shrug off most of your moodiness. The two of you have many things in
common, including home, family, financial security, enjoying affection and
being nurtured, and you both appreciate food and cooking. With this match,
there is more likely to be an argument over who gets to cook dinner rather
than who should cook.
This pair also prefers to enjoy a quiet evening at home rather than spending
time socializing in loud, overcrowded hot spots. Each of you are also
sentimental with people, places, routines and even possessions.
There are a couple of minor, negative aspects to this relationship, however.
Cancer and Taurus are naturally jealous and possessive. Still, since the both
of you are also fiercely loyal, it is unlikely that jealousy or possessiveness
will ever manifest in your relationship. You are both stubborn as well, and
may fight for control in the relationship. Since the two of you are a perfect
match when it comes to control, it will be difficult to tell if either of you
truly are.
Chapter 10:
Leo — The Lion
(July 23-August 22)

This fire sign is ruled by the sun. Leos are creative, generous, warm-
hearted, humorous and passionate. They enjoy the theater, holidays, bright
colors, fun with friends and being admired. The symbol for this sign is
fitting, because the lion is the embodiment of all the very best traits Leos
have to offer. They are regal and relaxed, proud and in charge. Leos know
that they are in charge of just about any situation, even if it appears to those
on the outside that they are not. Fire signs, like the Leo, are bright
individuals that use their warm energy to draw people in. With the proper
balance, those in the presence of a Leo will feel appreciated and loved.
Of all the signs, Leos are the most dominant, creative and spontaneous of
all the Zodiac. They are strong-willed, positive, independent and self-
confident. They are born leaders, and can either revolt against or support
the status quo. Their magnanimous personality gives them a great,
commanding presence, and they work well with — and get great loyalty
from — their subordinates. They tend to be easy going and fairly
uncomplicated individuals.
On the downside, their sense of self-worth can quickly cross over to
arrogance. Leos can be extravagant if they cannot find satisfaction with
what they have. Their domineering personality and need to be in charge can
smother their friends and mates who, if they don’t understand their Leo,
might be prompted to leave. Loss and divorce are particularly devastating to
Leos because community and family are incredibly important to them.
On the upside, Leos are decent and honest people. They prefer to do the
right thing no matter the situation. They are highly organized, mainly so
that they can find their material goods. They enjoy luxury, and want the
people they love to enjoy it as well. They tend to accept everyone, at least
in the beginning, and usually make long lasting relationships.
Leos are most compatible with Aries, Libra, Sagittarius and Gemini.
Aries: This match has a lot of potential. Each of you will be able to
understand each other without having to try too hard, and — as a team —
your personalities are complimentary of each other. The great thing about
this pair is that you are both aggressive, passionate, somewhat egotistical
and all around fun. Your Aries has the get-up-and-go attitude to get projects
started, and Leos have the strength to see them to completion. This is great
because Aries love to start something, but sometimes lack the patience to
see them through, whereas they have the motivation to see a project started
— and sometimes Leos do not.
Both of you will want to take the lead and be in control of this relationship.
In other signs and their relationships, it can lead to a healthy competition.
The Leo/Aries match will want to avoid this, as it can lead to long-term
grudges and is unhealthy.
In this relationship, it’s best to avoid discussing previous relationships. Leo
and Aries want to be the best lover their partner has ever had. If either of
you feel that might not be the case, this can lead to disagreements. When it
comes to past lovers, leave them where they belong and both you and your
Aries will be happy.
Libra: Leos are drawn into the Libras refined and sophisticated lifestyle as
well as their quick mind and charms. Libras are diplomatic and very
affectionate partners, giving them the ability to complement their Leo and
truly mean it. Leos don’t appreciate empty compliments, and much prefer
none at all if the person giving them is not genuine.
Both of you love to be social, are outgoing and enjoy being the center of
attention. You’ll love to show off your classy Libra, especially when the
both of you are dressed to the nines. Leos are slightly more charismatic, but
both are just as playful — which leads to friendly and entertaining rivalry.
Since you are equally addicted to receiving attention, it’s fun for you to
compete for it.
The only downfall to this matchup is that your Libra can encourage you a
little too much. Since Leos can get carried away, especially in front of an
audience, you may come off as boisterous or rude. Neither of you are great
with money because you enjoy spending it on fun, adventurous things. This
can lead to an argument, however, so it’s best to have a solid financial plan
in place.
Sagittarius: You have a tremendous amount in common with this partner.
Overall, this will probably be a highly energetic, fun-loving relationship.
Both signs are optimistic, generous and enthusiastic. Each of you also enjoy
playing with fire, and this relationship is likely to develop quickly because
of it.
You are the stubborn one in this relationship, and your Sagittarius will be
great at helping you find solutions you might not see otherwise. Sagittarius
are notoriously slow to commit, but this shouldn’t concern you too much.
The danger zone for this match is how brutally honest Sagittarius can be.
They are not good at tact or criticism, which is something Leos hate. Money
may also be an issue here; Mostly because the two of you prefer spending
over saving.
Gemini: In the twin sign, you will find a fun and light partner who is best
suited to bring out your competitive and playful side. Geminis prefer to
always be talking to someone, which is great for Leos. Both of you are
creative, outgoing and sociable. As with other matches, both really like to
be the center of attention. The competition for center stage is fun and light-
hearted, and will make others laugh.
As the both of you are flirtatious, it’s best to discuss what is acceptable or
not early on. Avoiding crossing lines in this department will save you. Since
you are more possessive than your Gemini, it is likely to be you, the Leo,
who is more upset than your Gemini partner, and you are the one who will
be looking for long-term commitment well before your other half.
Remember, they are free-spirited and not easily tamed. They can be put off
by a partner whom they perceive is trying to smother them, especially early
on in a relationship.
Overall, there isn’t anything negative to worry about with this relationship.
The two of you mesh well together, and as long as there are open lines of
communication, things should work out well.
Chapter 11:
Virgo — The Maiden
(August 23-September 22)

Virgos are Earth elementals ruled by Mercury. They are loyal, hardworking,
practical, kind and analytical. They like and connect with animals, enjoy
books, cleanliness and nature. This sign is cool, calm and collected, which
is why the symbol of the maiden was chosen. Like a maiden, on the surface
they appear mild mannered, but underneath there is a barrage of activities
going on. Their minds are always on the go, they never stop thinking, and
they are always calculating or assessing their situation. They are nurturing
and detail-oriented. In general, they don’t mind being alone as long as they
know that someone, somewhere needs and appreciates them.
As an earth sign, Virgos enjoy making things with their hands, often from
the land — such as pottery or woodwork. They are not bossy or loud, and
are brilliant strategists, making them an asset to teams. Their brilliance
sometimes leads to their taking on more than they should and, in the end,
their work will suffer for it.
On the downside, Virgos are attentive to their health and that of everyone
else’s, which leads to obsessive behavior. They can be judgmental of those
they believe aren’t living up to their potential or are working inefficiently.
They are opinionated and will share them with others whether they’ve been
asked to or not.
On the upside, Virgos are truly compassionate when it comes to their fellow
man. They are patient, love to laugh and are kind. They tend to be the
strong, silent type and are creative thinkers. They are family oriented.
Virgo are most compatible with Cancer, Scorpio, Capricorn and Taurus.
Cancer: This match has a tremendous amount in common, and your Cancer
will constantly help you build your self-confidence. Your natural stability
will overcome Cancers occasional moodiness and take it all in stride. You
both like to feel a sense of security and feel loved, which you are equally
equipped to give to your partner. Each sign is hardworking, although
Cancer is saving for a rainy day, while Virgos prefer to simply be
productive. Financially, you are both conservative, meaning money should
not be an issue in your relationship.
The only negative in this relationship is that both of you are overly critical
at times, which may lead to a confrontation. In the end, neither of you are
grudge holders, and will forgive easily.
Scorpio: Your Scorpio has confidence in spades, which is something you’ll
admire about them. You will also appreciate their stubbornness and
strength. They are able to read you easily and without much effort, which
works well for you. Scorpios like to be in control of a relationship, which
you are okay with so long as they allow your personal space when the need
arises. You are logical, whereas your Scorpio is very emotional. Attempting
to figure them out using logic will not get you very far. There is no need to
analyze your Scorpio mate. They are good for you in nearly every way.
Negatively speaking, there isn’t much bad going on in this relationship.
Scorpios have a lot of self-confidence, so it’s best not to judge yourself by
their high standards. It’s that confidence that makes your Scorpio so sexy
and irresistible, so go with it!
Capricorn: This sign is top notch and your best match, right alongside
Taurus. Your Capricorn has some serious soulmate potential, and the two of
you are so incredibly similar that you will understand one another on a level
most others cannot. You are the same, but not to the extent that the
relationship will become boring quickly. You are both mature, caring,
hardworking, intelligent and rational. That’s the short version of a very long
list of things you have in common with your Capricorn.
Relationships with opposing signs can be bad for your self-confidence.
Capricorns are great at ego boosting, and are genuine when they pay a
compliment. They will always encourage you and approve of just about
anything you do.
Capricorns can have a detached air about them, which to others makes them
seem aloof. You are able to understand this quirk, and are appreciative of
their reserved and sophisticated nature. Unlike Aries’ loud nature, the
Capricorn is quiet and reserved, though not so much as the Virgo.
There are no negative aspects to this pairing, unless you consider you being
more flexible than your partner to be a bad thing. Overall, this is one of
those rare matches made in heaven, or taken from the pages of a heated
romance novel. Whichever analogy you prefer.
Taurus: Like the Capricorn, Taurus is almost a perfect match for Virgos. In
a committed relationship, both are loyal. You share many of the same
values and goals with your Taurus partner and you understand each other on
that deep level most signs cannot obtain. You equally value stability and
will find this quickly in your relationship making you both feel secure and
valued. Your Taurus is someone you can always depend on and you will
each prefer quiet time at home as opposed to going out to socialize.
Financially, you are also on the same page. Hardworking and appreciative
of the value of savings, you both feel the need to accumulate wealth for
financial security. Your Taurus can have slightly more extravagant tastes
than you, but overall you will see eye to eye on most major purchases. The
need to be frugal outweighs the Taurus’ desire to buy flashy and expensive
things.
Like the Capricorn, Taurus/Virgo match has little to no negative aspects.
Overall, this is also a truly sustainable and happy pair.
Chapter 12:
Libra — The Scales
(September 23-October 22)

As the symbol for this sign suggests, Libras are all about balance, and need
it more in their lives than any other sign. They like to find that balance
between work, social, recreational and family lives and are quite capable of
doing so. Eventually, that is. Because they need to take their time to come
to the right decision, Libras can seem wishy washy to those around them. In
the end, however, whatever choice they make is almost always a win/win
for everyone involved.
Libras are air elementals ruled by Venus. They are diplomatic, gracious,
cooperative, social and most of all, fair-minded. They like harmony,
sharing, the outdoors and are generally very gentle. This sign finds
happiness when others are happy, and when the world around them is
balanced and harmonious. They are charming, and that charm is what draws
people to them. They enjoy just about any form of meditation, because it
helps them find balance on the inside that they so desperately need.
On the upside, Libras are fair and just. They become upset if this is not the
case. They like to discuss their favorite topics at great length, and the
decisions a Libra make will benefit the greatest number of people. They are
self-sacrificing for the greater good of their family or teammates.
On the downside, because they take so long to make a decision, it may
appear to others that they are lazy or absent-minded. Libras don’t like to be
in charge, but they will make it a point to be heard. If they perceive a
situation to be unfair or unjust, they will become argumentative.
This sign is most compatible with Gemini, Sagittarius, Leo and Aquarius.
Gemini: In this relationship, the two of you meet each other’s needs on just
about every level. You are both highly intellectual, analytical and openly
communicate well. Adventure through travel is something you both enjoy
as well as the experience of new and exciting things. Socially, parties and
gatherings are something you do together and you are rarely at home. Any
conversation between the two of you will be intelligent and fun, even if the
topic is something you disagree on or is hotly debated.
The negative side to this relationship is short and simple: Both of you are
indecisive, which may lead to arguments over where to have dinner or
which of your friend’s parties to attend. In the grand scheme of things,
though, it is minor, and will not affect the overall relationship.
Sagittarius: Your Sagittarius partner is very spontaneous and adventurous.
They are also more likely to bring these traits out in you over other signs
you are compatible with. Your Sagittarius partner is passionate and intense
but incredibly fun, and you will enjoy spending time with them. You are the
more sociable of your two signs, but your Sagittarius is willing to hang out
and be comfortable in your social circles as well.
Of all the signs, Libras are most diplomatic, while Sagittarius are
sometimes overly blunt and direct. You each have a wonderful and similar
sense of humor. Sagittarius value their freedom and independence, meaning
you’ll be the one looking to take the relationship to the next level first. The
bright side to this is that once your Sagittarius commits, it means they are
completely smitten, and you’ll have a loyal partner for life.
Money seems to be the main negative aspect of this match. Class and
sophistication are expensive, and while Sagittarius aren’t necessarily frugal,
they like to spend their money on adventures over clothing.
Leo: Your Leos dominating nature will draw you in quickly. Of all the
signs, they have the highest self-confidence, and are so dramatic they will
take your breath away. You’ll enjoy their sense of bravado and fun,
especially while they are showing you off. You don’t like being forced to
make decisions, and this works well with a bossy partner who is more than
happy to take the reins. Leos almost always want to be in control of
relationships, which usually works for Libras.
In this relationship, you are intellectual, while your Leo is passionate.
Conversations and debates will be abundant and Leos admire Libras social
skills in this area. Leos act on a whim, while Libras like to take the time to
analyze the pros and cons of almost every situation. Leos always have an
opinion, and this gives the Libra the opportunity to help them change their
mind.
Be careful not to agree with your Leo on everything. Sometimes, they can
get carried away and extreme, meaning they need the careful, calculated
Libra to keep them grounded.
Aquarius: Your Aquarian partner is fun, and you have much in common.
There is a deep, natural mental connection between the two of you. Their
quick wit and objective nature will appeal to the balanced Libra. You are
both fun loving yet rational people. You are also excellent communicators,
which is a great base for any relationship. First and foremost, the two of
you will be friends before lovers. You’ll always find meaningful
conversation with your Aquarius.
Aquarius are prone to rebellion, however, which does not always appeal to
the fair and just Libra. Alternatively, Aquarius have a difficult time with
anyone who is too bossy, which is a trait most Libras have. Also, in this
relationship, the Libra is most likely to be ready for commitment long
before their Aquarian partner. There is nothing to be concerned with,
though, as they are simply independent; It has nothing to do with their
willingness to commit.
Chapter 13:
Scorpio — The Scorpion
(October 23-November 21)

This water sign ruled by Pluto is resourceful, passionate, stubborn, brave

and a true friend until the end. They appreciate the truth, longtime friends
and have fun teasing those they are comfortable with. The sign that
represents Scorpios typifies them well. Scorpions aren’t necessarily
aggressive until they are provoked and, even then, they would rather be
contemplative as opposed to fight. They are excellent keepers of secrets,
and feel emotions much more intensely than any other sign. Because of this,
they are able to help people with their problems, and are capable of getting
to the root of any issue.
On the downside, Scorpios could half-jokingly be said to be credited with
inventing the term ‘vendetta’. Once they’ve been wronged, Scorpios never
forget it. They can also be pessimistic and see threats when there really
aren’t any. That makes them suspicious, paranoid and stubborn without any
real cause.
On the upside, Scorpios have self-control in almost every other area of their
lives. Likewise, they expect the same from others. They are protective and
disciplined. They are very giving and, again, expect the same in return.
Scorpio are most compatible with Virgo, Pisces, Cancer and Capricorn.
Virgo: Your Virgo tends to be shy, reserved and timid making way for your
strong personality and supreme confidence. This will go over well with
your Virgo who will bring organization to the relationship, which is an area
Scorpios are lacking. Virgo are also cautious and reserved. In the beginning,
it may appear as though they are uninterested by your advances, which is
normal. You’ll find your Virgo is mostly willing to give you control of the
relationship. Initially, you will be the talkative one but, over time, Virgo
will feel comfortable, and perhaps be the chattiest in the relationship.
Scorpios are stubborn, volatile and secretive. Virgos are intellectual,
analytical and fairly critical. As long as the two of you are able to accept
these differences, your relationship will flourish.
Pisces: Your Pisces will benefit greatly from your strength and
protectiveness. They will put you first, and you will stop allowing others to
take advantage of them. In this relationship, you both feel completely
secure, which is no easy task for most other signs. Although possessiveness
can be viewed as a negative attribute, it works well for this relationship,
because it provides the security you both need. You are both loyal, which
leads to trust; an important thing in all relationships.
Stubbornness doesn’t work well with your Pisces. If angry, direct it
elsewhere and not at your sensitive Pisces. For the most part, Pisces are not
the type to be pushed away over petty bickering. However, they can be
notorious for up-and-leaving if they’ve been unhappy for a long time. It
would surprise a less intuitive partner, but pay attention and you’ll have
plenty of warning.
Cancer: This sign is a close tie with Pisces for a great match. In this
relationship, you are both emotional, highly intuitive, possessive, loyal and
empathetic. This has the ability to make you both feel more loved than any
other sign and no one should be surprised if you marry quickly. Whirlwind
romances work well within this pair.
Cancer is more sensitive than they let on, and while Scorpios are known for
being vindictive, Cancers can be as well, if they are pushed far enough. The
biggest risk in this relationship is the Cancers’ moodiness. To your Cancer,
it may appear as though their mood is pushing you away when in reality,
you just need a little more space.
Capricorn: You have similar goals and values and, through this, the two of
you will have a deep respect for each other. You both value hard work and
security, are reserved and appreciate a quiet and nice home environment.
Your Capricorn has a lot of ambition, sense of purpose and determination,
all of which are admirable qualities to you. In return, they will admire your
insight, passion and amazing intuition. Your Capricorn is incredibly down
to earth and responsible. They are reliable and grounding, both of which
appeal to you.
Loyalty is something you each have in spades, and you are able to get
through the toughest of times in your relationship. Your Capricorn can be
less emotional than you’d like, but Scorpios have a way of bringing out
emotions in others.
Overall, this is a nearly perfect match. The only negative aspect is that you
are both stubborn. Your Capricorn is slightly more flexible and likely to be
able to provide a little more give when it comes to disagreements.
Chapter 14:
Sagittarius — The Centaur
(November 22-December 21)

This fire sign is ruled by Jupiter. Sagittarius are happy, creative and
adventurous. The Centaur in mythology was half horse and half man.
Shown with a bow, the centaur follows wherever the arrow goes. He
retrieves it, then shoots again. People born under this sign love to travel,
discover and learn new things and meet new people. They are also
generous, have a great sense of humor and are idealistic. Sagittarians are
unhappy when they are tethered to a mundane or normal routine. They
become restless if there is not enough variety. Because of their love of
travel and experiences, this sign is a lot of fun to be around. They have a
great number of friends. Sagittarius question everything, and believe their
friends should do the same.
On the downside, confining a Sagittarius will make them uncooperative and
rude. They come up with grandiose plans, but rarely follow through. It has
nothing to do with capability and everything to do with them being
sidetracked easily.
On the upside, they are incredibly intelligent, and enjoy being around like-
minded and equally intelligent people. They are creative at their core, and
are spiritually inclined. These are the type of people who would travel to
the Himalayas to speak with and possibly even pray with the monks. They
seek enlightenment in every sense of the word.
Sagittarius are most compatible with Leo, Libra, Aries and Aquarius.
Leo: Overall, this relationship is fun-loving, energetic and quite possible
explosive! The two of you have a lot in common, and you will be drawn to
how self-confident your Leo is. Because you are hardly ever jealous, your
Leo will enjoy a long leash to lavish in the attention of others. You are
confident that they only have eyes for you, and are okay with their
flirtatious nature.
The biggest risk in this relationship is you offending your Leo, who is
incredibly sensitive to any kind of criticism, especially personal. Ultimately,
you are both optimistic and carefree, making this a great match.
Libra: This sign is exceptionally attractive, optimistic and outgoing, which
are traits you appreciate and enjoy. You’ll be drawn to their intensity,
spontaneity and passion and there is likely to be an immediate attraction in
this match. You both have a tremendous number of things in common
including charisma, being extroverted and outgoing, although because your
Libra is the most sociable of all the signs, they are likely to have you beat in
those areas.
Differences between these two signs are minimal. Libra is classy and cares
a lot about their appearance. While you are far from slovenly, you are not
quite as worried about how you look when you go out. You will almost
always be ready before your Libra. Money may also be an issue in this
relationship, but only because you’d disagree on what to spend it on, not
because either of you are particularly frugal.
Aries: This is one of those signs that might just be your soulmate. They are
passionate, adventurous and intelligent. They will always inspire you and
blend almost perfectly with your personality, needs, desires and outlook on
life. You are both charismatic, and your friends will adore the way the two
of you feed off each other. Aries are more philosophical, which Sagittarius
often lack. The two of you may not always see eye to eye, but your
conversations may just lead to great debates.
If one considers occasional outbursts an issue, then that might be the only
setback when it comes to this match. Aries tend to be explosive and angry
at times. Luckily, you are able to defuse the situation with ease.
Aquarius: One of the best astrological matches for you, the Aquarius is
also soulmate potential. You both value independence, and are wary of
taking that huge leap to marriage too soon. This will probably stay a casual
relationship for quite some time, which the both of you are perfectly happy
with. This is also one of the rare matches in which long-distance
relationships are sustainable. Neither of you are overly emotional, and are
both brutally honest. This is one of the few partners who will not be easily
offended by your candid nature.
The only real weakness in this relationship is that neither of you are
domestic or very practical. Just remember not to do it yourself and hire a
handyman. Problem solved!
Chapter 15:
Capricorn — The Mountain Sea-Goat
(December 22-January 19)

This earth sign ruled by Saturn has the mountain goat as its symbol because
of their desire to constantly climb higher and higher. They are goal oriented
and successful despite all odds. They work long hours in order to obtain
their long-term goals. They are self-disciplined. Some of the world’s
greatest leaders, teachers and scientists were born under this sign. Capricorn
are also responsible and make good managers. They enjoy family, music,
quality craftsmanship and tradition. Because achievement is so important to
them, they take life seriously and are intolerant of people who do not.
On the downside, their dedication to minute details and the big picture
seems dull to others. They come off as emotionless on the surface, and their
mind is always running. They are sometimes selfish and stingy, strategically
withholding valuable information tor their own purposes and eventual gain.
They are less imaginative than the other signs, and often refuse to face the
facts in a situation that might prove them wrong. Capricorns hate to be
wrong.
On the upside, they make logical and realistic decisions. They can see the
bottom line, which makes them a true asset to any corporation that values
teamwork. They are family oriented, have a dry sense of humor and are
sarcastic. They are incredibly smart, and are good with numbers and
analysis.
Capricorns are most compatible with Virgo, Taurus, Scorpio and Pisces.
Virgo: This partnership is fulfilling and calm, with both being equally
respectful, supportive and having shared goals. You will love your Virgos
reliability, attention to detail and drive for perfection. This is a partner that
will always approve of the determination and ambition you bring to the
relationship. You are similar enough that deep down, you understand each
other well. You are different enough, however, to keep your relationship
exciting.
It doesn’t seem that there is a real downside to this relationship. You are
more flexible than your partner, but ultimately their strength of purpose will
be a consistent source of security and inspiration.
Taurus: You are on the same wavelength and easily understand each other.
Your views on just about any topic are almost identical including the
important issues of finance, parenting and commitment. You trust without
question, and marriage or cohabitation is likely to be discussed early on in
this relationship. Intuitively, you know that you are right for each other, and
that your Taurus partner is a safe bet. They will always be loyal and
committed while practical and sensible at the same time.
The biggest risk here is that the both of you are so hardworking that it may
become an all work no play situation. This means that enjoying life
becomes a low priority. Don’t forget to live life to the fullest; You can work
hard and enjoy the fruits of your labor as well.
Scorpio: While you may come across as aloof, your Scorpio will see
through that exterior to who you truly are. They are capable of bringing out
your romantic side as well as your emotions, and you may even find
yourself wondering how you could possibly be such a different person
when they are around. Scorpios are very intense and passionate. Their
ability to use their insight and intuition when dealing with others will be a
surprise as well as a source of admiration for you. They are a street-smart
person capable of helping you deal with the world.
In this relationship, you will provide the grounding and a stable
commitment Scorpios crave and often demand from their partner. The two
of you will make an incredible team in love and in business.
Alternatively, you can both be stubborn, but disagreements will be so rare
that this will hardly ever manifest itself. Overall, this is one of the great,
complimentary matches of all the zodiac signs.

Conclusion
First and foremost, thank you for reading this book. As you might have
noticed in the beginning chapters, astrology — in its complete form — can
be a rather intense subject to study. Even though we’ve gone through so
much fascinating information here, we’ve barely scratched the surface of
this ancient, cosmic science. With that in mind, I encourage you to delve
deeper into the more advanced knowledge of this starlight field.
As stated earlier, if this is something that truly interests you, consider
contacting a certified astrologist somewhere near you, and get a full,
professional reading. As a beginner, it will provide so much insight into you
as a person, when you are able to see how the houses, signs, elements and
everything else comes together to form, well… you!
The knowledge is available. The universe is waiting. What more will you
uncover? What secrets will you rediscover; about the world, about others,
about yourself?
