AUTOMATED QUERY RESOLVER FOR COLLEGE PLACEMENTS

Abstract

This project entitled as “Automated Query Resolver for College Placements” is designed to
develop the application package for well secured dynamic application. This package is originated
using front end as ASP.NET, coding C# with SQL Server as back end. This package requires
Visual Studio IDE in the server for processing the WebPages and client systems requires
Windows operating system and one web browser like internet explorer.

Placements are benchmark to the performance of any management institute and it depicts the
success and the growth of the students. The Objective of the placement cell is to facilitate the
process of placement & ensure that each eligible student gets an opportunity in the industries.
The placement cell aims to achieve 100% placement assistance to our students. The placement
cell consists of student placement representatives and the placement coordinator from each
department.

Most of the students will be having placements queries in different categories of colleges
placements and different company placements Most of the time students will find it difficult to
get the proper answers and suggestion for their query.

The main goal of this project is to develop the web based software, using which a user can login
and can ask queries about placements to other colleges. This application is capable to automate
the query response with keyword search. It is also capable of posting queries in discussion forum
for the queries which are not getting the auto response answers. Here all the queries will be
stored in the database for future reference. Hence all the queries will be categorized by the
administrator future search will be made easy. The forum members can also conducting training
programs for all the students on soft skill developments and new technology trends. Training
starts right from first year of the course. This discussion placement forum will be more useful in
getting more suggestion for the student's queries.

MODULE DESCRIPTION:

 User registration

User Registration and login module is used to perform the new user registration process,
login authentication process, user account activation and deactivation process and forget
password process.

 Query Posting

Query posting module is used to post the new queries by the registered users and also
view the posted queries and track its status. Administrator can view the posted queries and other
registered users can also view the queries.

 Query Analysis

Query Analysis module is used to analyze the posted queries. Initially this module parses
the posted query and extracts the key words. After that keyword matching process will be
performed in the existing query and response table. Matched query’s response messages are
automatically delivered to the user. Unmatched queries are automatically posted into the
customer service department and get the response from the customer support executives.

 Discussion forum

Discussion forum module is used to post the answers for queries/ opinion/suggestions by
the users. Newly arrived query consists query id, query, query category and duration for answer
posting . User can post the answers for all questions within the specific duration. Answer Poll is
used to select the right answer by the other users. Best answer will be selected and posted as a
response to the user for his/her query. Selection of best answer is based on the rating.
 Feedback module

Feedback is used to post the feedback messages by the users to the administrator
regarding service, suggestion, complaint, etc.
