Climate Change
Climate change is the long term change in weather
patterns, and it threatens our existence as humans. To
help you understand just how serious and dangerous it
is, the WHO (World Health Organization) has marked it
as the biggest threat to global health in the 21st century.

Now climate change didn’t just come out of the blue,

no, our reckless actions as humans is what made it so
powerful. The main cause of climate change is the
increased use of fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are widely used
to run cars, generate electricity and more. The reason
fossil fuels are one of the main causes of climate change
is their production of carbon dioxide. When burned, co2
is produced, and then traps heat in the atmosphere,
which then leads to climate change. Another important
cause of climate change is deforestation. We do get
some benefits from deforestation, like more space or an
extra source of materials. However, when trees are cut
down and burned or left to rot, stored carbon is released
into the air as carbon dioxide, which leads to climate
change.

Climate change’s effects aren’t as bad as they seem

in sci-fi movies, but they still are pretty serious. Believe it
or not, climate change actually increases the odds of
natural disasters. With increasing global surfaces and
temperatures, droughts and storms become more
common, and more lethal. Another effect is rising sea
levels. This happens because of increasing temperature,
as a warm climate causes seawater to expand, and the
ice over land to melt. If sea levels continue to rise at this
rate, chronic flooding will be spread and more land will
be permanently lost to the ocean.

To sum up, climate change is a serious matter, that

needs to be dealt with. Waste management and
recycling, and renewable energies are two solutions to
climate change. We can maybe use reusable bags
instead of plastic ones, and maybe even reusable
batteries for our home appliances. Let’s start now before
it’s too late.
