Building Blocks The Most Common English Words in 44 Sentences
Building Blocks The Most Common English Words in 44 Sentences
Dear student,
These sentences were created especially for you. They are, in general, short
and simple sentences, but they can be of great help in your learning process
for this reason: they contain the majority of the 200 most common words in
English. The sentences are not connected to each other, but they function as
building blocks – with them you will be able to create new sentences, then
increasing your vocabulary and developing your skills.
Don’t try to translate word by word, but try to guess their meaning according to
the context, as much as possible. And don’t forget to use the .mp3 file as well,
because besides being able to read the sentences, you must know how to
pronounce them and also recognize them in speech.
Here are some tips of how you can use this material:
▪ Don’t try to study all the 44 sentences at once! You can choose from 3 to
5 sentences each day and then work on them.
▪ Read them. Listen to them. Read them out loud.
▪ Then, try to create 3 new sentences out of these “building blocks”. You
can change the subject for one of your relatives or friends, for example,
as a way to make it “personal”.
▪ You can also try to create a dialogue or maybe a short story out of each
sentence. It’s totally up to you! Be creative!
Good luck!
