Rubric, Mentee’s Performance in the Mentoring Program

Note: Mentee’s performance rating may constitute 5% of the final grade.

Mentee’s Pledge (8 provisions)

hereby solemnly swear to perform my duties and responsibilities in the Mentoring Program of MHAM
College of Medicine.
1. I commit to attend all the mentoring sessions with dedication, enthusiasm, and energy.
2. I commit to building a relationship, act with courtesy and respect and observe professional boundaries
between me and my mentor.
3. I commit to open up to my mentor difficulties, incidents and problems I may encounter in the pursuit of
my academic studies and demonstrate a positive attitude towards them.
4. I commit to be guided by my mentor in developing, establishing and achieving my academic goals.
5. I commit to listen and respect the opportunities and advice of my mentor, and the limitations and
design of the mentoring program of the institution.
6. I commit to receive constructive feedback from my mentor regarding my weaknesses and strengths and
if I am proceeding in the right direction in the accomplishment of my academic goals.
7. I commit to take actions to attain my academic goals.
8. I hereby commit to become a dedicated and responsible mentee.

1. Psychosocial advancement
• Indicators:
 Increased self-awareness and sensitivity to others; improved
self-esteem and confidence; improved teamwork skills; increased ability to cope with stress and
deal with problems; improved ability to adjust to medical school life, new environment and
colleagues
2. Personal advancement
• Indicators:
 Realization of one’s potential; acquisition of a good body of knowledge and clinical skills;
development of critical thinking, research capabilities, decision making, leadership and
communication skills; improved learning skills; improved academic performance based on grades
in quizzes, examinations, case-based discussions, small group discussions, OSOE, OSCE
3. Professional advancement
• Indicators:
 Increased awareness of professional behavior and responsibilities; respect towards themselves,
others and their mentors; improved accountability and responsibility towards their schoolwork
and other tasks; improved compassion, decision-making skills, and self-directed learning; honesty
and integrity; improved punctuality & time management
