ESSAY:
How will your life be in the absence of electricity? In the absence of gadgets and the
internet?

The world is now powered by electricity and using advanced technology. Everything we
have in our house mostly worked with the help of electricity, appliances and gadgets.
They are essential part of our lives because it provides comfort. In big companies and
factories, their machines are working because of electricity. The mode of our
transportation and communication are now powered by electricity. A lot of things that
electricity and technology give in our lives to make it easier, but how my life will be in
the absence of electricity and technology.
If I put my life in the absence of electricity, technology and the internet, it would be hard
for me because I grew up with them. My life will not be easier anymore and my days will
not be complete if I can’t watch TikTok, scroll on social media and watch movies or
news, it feels like a day without them, I would feel left behind from the latest trends or
news. My sleeping pattern will be not good because there will be no more appliances to
make me sleep comfortably. In cooking, I need to make a fire out of woods and
preserving the food is also difficult since there will be no more refrigerator to avoid spoil.
In nights the light we could only use is “Lampara” or Light Gas Lamp to brighten our
night and it has also disadvantage because in the long run our ceiling will be dark. In
communication also It's difficult because we need to write letters to reach out my love
ones and I will be waiting for a month to receive a reply. My life will be turned upside
down since I can’t live a day without internet, electricity and technology. But there’s one
thing good in the absence of electricity, gadgets and internet is that I will have a quality
time with my family, know things how to survive, and away from the toxic social media
and more on physical activities outdoor that will replace the finger and eyes only
activities which is scrolling or online gaming.
We may live in modern world that human being can’t resist technology for they use it for
their living and making their selves easier, we live in the era that reduces human effort,
but we may not forget how to live if life is in the absence of electricity, gadgets and the
internet.
