QUESTION 6
The labour department has received a complaint from a solid waste collector for
City A on the amount of the time spent for off-route activities. The collector says
that they spend less than 15% of each 8-hour workday on off-route activities
whilst the management claims that the amount of time spent is more than 15%.
As an appointed consultant, calculate the actual time spent for off-route
activities based on data given in Table and Figure. (10 marks)

Two environmental engineering students volunteered in a community project
which involves managing waste collection service in a small rural community
near Machang Bubok, Pulau Pinang. The students proposed to provide waste
collection service using a four-wheel drive pickup truck with the truck size of 3m
x 4m x 1.5m (no compaction). Using the following information given in Table,
determine whether the students can dedicate 3 hours per week to the project.
