ART APPRECIATION

ACTIVITY SHEET
MODULE 4
NAME: SANGALANG, PATRICIA ELENA J.
COURSE AND SECTION: BEED 1-1
DIRECTION: Essay type of question

● Explained the three (3) content in arts level of meanings.

o The Factual
➔ The literal statement or narrative material in the
work that can be understood immediately because
the items presented can be quickly identified is
known as factual meaning. In order to explicitly, that
is, fully express the message of the artwork to the
audience, the artist establishes harmony among the
parts of art. It is similar to its conventional
meaning's opposite. Understanding the recognizable
or recognisable forms in the artwork and how these
components relate to one another might help one
deduce the meaning at its most basic level.
I have observed some factually inspired conceptual
art. To portray troops in one piece, hand-painted
paper was cut out into the shape of leaves. One
fallen soldier was represented by each leaf. It was
Jane Hammond's creation.
o The Conventional
➔ In contrast to the unconventional, which is not
based on or adhering to what is typically done or
believed; in other words, it is irregular, the
conventional approach of creating art might be
based on what is generally done, believed, or
standard. They both live in the same universe and
are frequently mutually exclusive. To understand my
own abstract ways of creating and elevating an
ordinary piece of work to something far greater, I
need the balanced framework of having a
conventional frame of thought. Making art involves
its own mental process, in which decisions are
created and made, then changed with a brush
stroke. If one were to create in the traditional
manner, they might find themselves engaged in a
protracted war with paint, cloth, and time. It takes a
lot of time to layer beautiful colors, and each layer
tells a different tale that brings to life faces,
landscapes, and candid moments. The canvas and
oil paint mixture give the artist's creation life, much
like when you first breathe after birth. In contrast to
its competitors, such as watercolor and acrylic
paint, oil-based paint has its own unique
requirements from the application process to the
drying process in order to generate its brilliant, rich
hues. As the paint soaks into and intertwines with a
typical cotton canvas surface, the drying period is
merely prolonged further. Because oil paint has
such a deep base, drying times can range from
months to years. In order to transform a
conventional technique into an unconventional
expertise for creating portraits, this is where my
unconventional method excels. I chose to utilize a
more natural recycled material like wood instead of
the customary canvas.

o The Subjective
➔ Art has been present for centuries and has
undergone ongoing change due to shifting subject
matter, methods, and purposes for art. The most
typical definition of art, however, is an item that
elicits aesthetic qualities that a person or group of
people may sense and experience.Art created by
the artist themselves is referred to as subjective art.
Art is created based on the creator's own emotions
and sentiments. Although subjective art has been
around for a while, it has recently become more
popular as a result of the development of social
media and digital technology. With subjective art,
artists attempt to produce individualized and
one-of-a-kind pieces for each person. When
producing subjective art, artists use their own
emotions and sentiments to convey themselves via
their work. The techniques, mediums, and styles
used in subjective art can be incredibly diverse. It is
challenging to define subjective art precisely
because there are so many different ways to
produce it. One item could appear to one person to
be an abstract painting while appearing to another
to be a surrealist one. The expressionistic style,
which employs emotionally charged colors, shapes,
and lines to portray thoughts or feelings through
creative expression, is the most prevalent type of
subjective art.
