Instructions for use :

Preparation of the sub-floor :

The surface to be finished has to be clean, load-bearing, dry, free of impurities, paint, glue, mortars and any
other contaminants such as oils and greases. It is recommended to shot-peen, grit, sandblast or mill the floor.
Before pouring, any large defects or holes should be repaired using an appropriate repair compound in
accordance with accepted practices to provide a strong and flat surface. The surface should have the stripping
strength of at least 1.5 MPa.

All prepared surfaces should be thoroughly wetted out with LEVEL-CEM PRIMER, applied with a suitable
brush, roller or broom. The application of LEVEL-CEM PRIMER increases the adhesion of the SCL LEVEL-
CEM GP compound, improves its ease of spreading and simultaneously prevents the formation of air bubbles in
the fluid, mixed compound and any loss of water.
TECHNICAL DATA SHEET

After application of the LEVEL-CEM PRIMER, the prepared floor should be left for at least 5 hours to dry and
absorb any residue into the concrete substrate. Any remaining liquid or ponding of the LEVEL-CEM
PRIMER should be removed. If the sub-floor is porous or weak, it should be treated with LEVEL-CEM
PRIMER 24 hours before pouring the compound and if necessary this treatment should be repeated until a
dried gloss of the LEVEL-CEM PRIMER is evident. Good standard concrete sub-floors should be treated
and left up to 5 hours before applying the SCL LEVEL-CEM GP compound.

*The LEVEL-CEM PRIMER is prepared by diluting NITOBOND PVA at a ratio of l:1 with clean water.

Preparation of the compound and water addition :

Add all the powder with a slow and consistent pouring action to a suitably sized mixing drum or bucket
containing 4.5 liters of clean water. Mix constantly with a slow-speed mixer, Mix until there are no lumps and
the consistency of the mixture is homogeneous. Leave for 2 minutes and then mix for a further 2 minutes. The
compound is then ready to be placed on the prepared, primed surface. Do not prepare more compound than you
are able to use within 15 minutes. The best results will be achieved when the compound is applied without
stopping the application across the whole surface.

Do not exceed the recommended amount of water.

The compound can also be mixed in a suitable pump provided that the pump can provide accurate and reliable
dosing of powder and strict monitoring of water addition.

Application.
By means of adhesive tape or foam, divide the prepared and grounded concrete surface into plots not wider than
5 meters. If application of the LEVEL-CEM GP is by a mechanical pump, the area can be up to 15 meters wide.
All expansion joints should be reflected through into the surface of the newly created floor.
The compound should be poured onto the surface in strips and spread into required thickness by means of
toothed trowels of adequate size or by means of screeds. Use a spiked roller to de-aerate the LEVEL-CEM GP
compound while still wet and ensure that all gaps are filled and that the material is laid to an even thickness and a
level finish.

Consumption.
Depending on the sub-floor preparation and the precision of performance, the mean consumption amounts to:
SCL LEVEL-CEM GP : 1.7 Kg / m2 per each 1 mm of a layer thickness.
LEVEL-CEM PRIMER : 0.2 l / m2
Maintenance.
A light walking is allowable within 4 hours from the pouring. However, the utilization of the floor should be
limited for 12 to 24 hours in order to protect the surface from damage. Regular walking and expansion joint
performance is allowable within approximately 24 to 48 hours. The floor can be fully loaded and used after 7
days. Low temperature and high humidity while laying and curing prolongs the times provided.
The work should be carried out within the temperature range of +50C and +250C. While laying the surface and
for the following 24 hours, the floor should be protected from wind, rain and harsh sunlight.

Cleaning.
Immediately after completing the work, wash tools with water. Hardened compound should be removed
mechanically.

Packages.
SCL LEVEL-CEM GP is packaged in 25 Kg three-ply sacks with a moisture proof barrier. A pallet contains 40
TECHNICAL DATA SHEET

sacks (1000 Kg).

Storing.
The SCL LEVEL-CEM GP should be stored on pallets in original, closed packages in a dry and cool place. It
should be protected from exposure to water and dampness. The shelf life of the product is 6 months from the
date of manufacture.

Precautions.
SCL LEVEL-CEM GP contains cement which, when in contact with water, reacts to produce an alkaline
product. Before commencing the work, read the information provided on the package and the MSDS of the
product. Provide adequate protective clothing and safety measures.
