COURSE DESCRIPTION : The course is designed for Master in Education Management students from the Open University System, which deal with the identification of educational laws/legislation governing the Philippine Educational System; to
provide school officials, administrators, supervisors, principals and classroom teachers’ authority, purpose, direction and guidelines in the management of teaching and learning practices and become future-ready leaders
fulfilling their roles to enhance humanity. Further, this also examines framework to address emerging issues and trends in education that are potentially significant to influence the future direction of the Philippine
Education; that will thereby build educational leaders competence and develop them into a more accountable leaders who can deal effectively in addressing the potential controversy likely to emerge from educational
management, policy formulation, planning and goals identification in the Department of Education, Commission on Higher Education and TESDA and appropriately integrate digital technologies to properly mediate
learning via Distance Education mode.

Assignments/Online Assignments: Answer to Module and other required written assignments = 30%
Position/Reaction Paper/Reflection Paper/Action Research = 30%
(Each student will select an emerging issue or trend topic that is of importance to the management of education, The paper should be understandable and complete with 8 to 12 pages of information
that clearly states the issue of the various opinions. It should also identify what the student see as the greatest challenge responding to the emerging issue. Reference should be listed at the end of the paper and should follow reasonably accurate APA format.
Analysis of readings, comparing and contrasting the views of the authors and critique of arguments presented will be graded for accuracy of interpretation, rigor or argument and clarity of

Classroom Policy
1. Students should attend both the offline and online meetings
2. Students are required to participate in online discussion through chat. (FB group/google hangouts or through LMS will be employed to discussed issues and interest)
3. Students strictly required to follow appropriate ‘NETIQUETTE‛ or online ethical considerations in the submitted requirements
4. Students should submit on-time the requirements of each module chapter assignments for them not to experience overloading of assignments
5. Assignments submitted later than the set deadline will not be accommodated not unless with reasonable excuse.
