SKILLS TEST 5 & 6

READING
1 Read Laura’s holiday blog. Tick [P] the seven things that she writes about.

I’m sorry that I didn’t write any new blog posts last 1 the type of holidays her parents like
month. Let me tell you why!
2 the place she wanted to go to
My parents enjoy strange holidays, in weird places.
Last week, we went on a very strange holiday – in a 3 her first holiday
forest! Yes, that’s right, a little house, in the middle
of a forest. And, the house was at the top of a tree! 4 how she went to the tree house
My parents told me about the idea three months 5 the size of the tree house
ago. I didn’t really want to go. I wanted to go to the
beach, and have fun near the sea. 6 the kitchen and the bedrooms
We travelled a long way by car. Then, we walked for 7 her father’s feelings
ages through the forest (with our bags!) to the tree
house. It looked very small. We went up the stairs, and 8 what she did at night
I looked for somewhere to charge my phone. But there
9 the food she ate
wasn’t any electricity! Also, there wasn’t any water!
There was a small bathroom, but it used rainwater. 10 what she liked about the tree house
My father was very happy. ‘No Internet, no emails!’
he said. 7
‘Thanks, Dad,’ I thought. ‘This is really annoying.’
But, I was wrong. After one week, the little tree house
was like my home. I liked being near the trees and
listening to the sound of birds every day. I loved looking
at the stars. It was amazing. I don’t see stars in the city.
We arrived back home two days ago. It felt really
strange. I didn’t like all the cars, and noise. Now, I’m
really interested in nature and animals. I told my
friends about my holiday. Now they all really want
to go to a tree house!
