2ND QUARTER

I. Objective
At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to:
 Describe healthy school and community environment.(H6CMH-IIa-1)

Materials: Television, Laptop, Pen, and paper
Value Focus: Emphasize the importance of environment

True or False activity. This activity aims to check what you already know about the
lesson to take for today.

4. Motivation : “Be a Word Hunter!”


This time,let’s warm up my dear learners, let’s do the word hunt! You are going to
identify at least five (5) words relating to a healthy school community whether arranged
vertically or horizontally.
Great!

B. Lesson Proper
1. Presentation
Now, my dear learners let me show you pictures that could be best describe to
those words we hunted from the word puzzle. Look closely and tell me your observations
on each picture.
How will you describe the picture A?
How about the picture B?
Does your school environment look like the picture A?
How about your community environment? Does it look like the picture B?
Your observation is very keen. Well Done! Now, based on the pictures, what it is being
shown from these two,the school and the community?
A healthy environment. Great!
Today, you are going to learn more on how to describe environment like this on our
lesson.
2. Analysis/Discussion
These pictures show a healthy school and community environment.
Schools plays a vital role in developing the children’s mind. A healthy school
environment can help improve your academic performance.
Living in a healthy community is what human needs.
Do we really need a healthy community environment?
Why is it so?
Having a healthy lifestyle are the priorities amongst families nowadays.
Remember! Being healthy is the new trend. People become more aware of living a healthy
life.
And yes! A healthy community makes us healthy and happy.
A healthy school and community has a physical characteristic like clean air, clean water
And flexible spaces.
This time, let us learn more from my two buddies.
I want you to meet my two buddies. Eyes on the TV screen and listen carefully as they
further discuss about our lesson for today.

Moving on, let me ask you some questions that our two little buddies discuss to you
about the characteristics of a healthy school and community environment.

World Health Organization?

What are these two types of characteristics of a healthy school and community
environment? (Physical and Psycho-social Environment)

Very Good!

Since physical environment includes safe, clean and good quality of air and water
quality, visually pleasing and have flexible spaces
Do you think our school have these qualities?
Is our school safe?
Do our spacious surroundings are free from harm?
I am glad that you feel safe in our school.

Let us have the psychosocial environment. It includes warm atmosphere, healthy


interpersonal relations, and free from abuse and discrimination.
Now, how will you describe a warm atmosphere?
How about healthy interpersonal relations?
What do we mean by free from abuse and discrimination?
C. Application
Since our lesson is all about a healthy school and community environment.
Now, class let me ask you, in your own experiences were you able to do your part in
taking care of our environment?
In what ways?Can you site an instance in your life that you were giving importance to
the environment?
My dear learners, stopping pollution is the best solution because remember, only
when the last tree will die, the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught,
we will realize that we cannot eat money and one way to take care of it is to segregate
our garbage properly.
Activity
Alright then, thank you for you positive cooperation.
Now, you are going to answer the activity on your module. Kindly turn your module in
page 8. (Refer to 2nd quarter Health 6, Module 1, page 8.)

D. Generalization

Good Job! This time,you are going to have another activity to recheck if you really
listened to our lesson for today. Please turn your module in page 9, What I have learned.
(Refer to 2nd Quarter Health 6, Module 1, page 9.)

And now, let’s turn your module in page 10 for another activity. In this activity you
are going to match each characteristic of a healthy school community and environment to
a statement that best describe of it. (Refer to 2nd Quarter Health 6, Module 1, page 10)

And now,my dear learners, in order for us to be safe we should follow the safety
protocol. We don’t have a group activity now however in your assignment that will
be given later you will be group into 5. you will do it through text or call or you may
answer it through fb chat group.

In your assignment, you will be group into 5 and each group will choose a leader.
The leader will make a group chat for you to answer the additional activity. Answer
page 12.
