Godzilla Vs Zilla

Godzilla has battled Zilla twice, defeating it easily both times with attacks like an atomic breath barbecue and simple beat-down, as Zilla lacked Godzilla's weapons, durability, and ability to withstand nuclear attacks, despite Zilla's ability to reproduce and burst speed, cementing Godzilla as the true "King of the Monsters".

Godzilla versus Zilla: The King of the Monsters versus

his namesake counterpart that rampaged through New

York City in 1998 – a giant mutated iguana eventually re-
christened ‘Zilla’. Zilla was a large beast, but lacked the
sort of weapons and durability that seem customary to
Kaiju. Zilla’s worst threat came from its ability to
reproduce asexually, which could have resulted in a large
population of giant monsters. However, this ability did
not seem to carry on to the only surviving member of the
parent Zilla’s brood. The second generation beast, also
acquired a flaming Atomic Breath not in evidence in the
parent (although the parent did demonstrated a hug-and-
puff hurricane-breath weapon, that once seemed to catch
fire when it sprayed gasoline into active flame. Zilla is
also fast enough to out-sprint military fighter choppers,
and is an active burrower. On the other hand, it was
killed by on only a few missiles… which doesn’t bode well
against an opponent that has lived in volcanoes and
withstood nuclear arms.
Verdict: Godzilla has battled Zilla twice – once in film,
(the future-story, ‘Godzilla: Final Wars’), and once in an
IDW comics series. Both fights were pretty much
wipeouts. The Final Wars battle was a tail swat and a
quick barbecue with Atomic Breath. The IDW fight was
more of a simple beat-down. Despite a lot of initial hype,
‘Zilla’ was never a contender for ‘King of the Monsters’.
