Funnel Builder Secrets Video Tips
If you’ve never done video before, the idea of shooting video might be overwhelming. Here are
some ways to combat that feeling so you can get them done quickly and easily!
● You will always be harder on yourself than others will. Remember this!
● If you don’t have a teleprompter and really need a script, the easiest way to do deal with
this is to use a webcam on a laptop or computer and have your notes on the screen.
Yes, you will need to briefly look away from the camera to look at your notes, but you
can also edit it out. To do this, follow this routine:
○ Look at your notes, look up at the camera, smile and then talk
○ Pause...look down, read the next note, look up at the camera, smile and talk
○ This way, you can easily make edits and transitions so you never see yourself
looking away from the camera
● Hire someone to do post-production editing if it’s not your thing. There are lots of
inexpensive editors out there who will put your video together quickly. Here’s an e xample
of one that I had edited.
● If you don’t like editing, then the best idea is to get as much of it done in one shot as
possible. Work on your script a few times, until you have it memorized. Then go for it!
This is the secret to Russell producing a lot of videos. He works to do them in one shot.
● You can also go for the raw and uncut look. This is growing in popularity due to
Facebook Livestreams so just get your camera out, walk slowly around your backyard or
in a nice environment, and talk. It’s best if you have a stabilizing handheld tripod for this.
● Look at the camera, not at the screen of yourself (tempting if you’re using a selfie
camera).
● If you truly can’t stand to be on camera, you can choose to do a voice over cartoon
video. This way, you record the audio and have someone create cartoons or a slideshow
or graphics. It’s not always as compelling, but in some cases, it can really work.
● Practice it a few times without your makeup, clothes, background looking perfect. It’ll
take the pressure off and you can see where in your script you tend to fumble.
● Shoot ALL the video at once. Get your scripts written and done, and pick one time to
shoot it all. Batch filming is the most productive and effective way to get it done.
