Thank you for selecting the Verbatim Fingerprint Secure USB Drive as your external
data storage device.
For optimal use and performance we advise you to read this manual carefully before using
this product.
Please note: this manual is a general manual which is used for several Verbatim products.

1. Connect Fingerprint Secure to your PC. A removable disk ("Fingerprint Secure") and
a Virtual DVD RW Drive ("DVD RW Drive") will appear in "My Computer". The Virtual
DVD RW Drive is an undeletable partition on your Fingerprint Secure on which the
Fingerprint Secure software and user manuals are stored.
2. If the virtual DVD-RW drive does not automatically open after the Fingerprint Secure
has been connected, double-click on the Virtual CD ROM drive icon ("CD ROM Drive")
to open it.
3. Double-click on the Fingerprint Secure User Manager application icon. When the
application opens you will be asked to set up an administrator password. This
password is a backup access method for the administrator.

4. You will be asked to enrol an administrator fingerprint. Enter the user name and select
Read Only if the administrator will not be able to make changes to data stored in
the secure partition. Gently press your finger on the sensor and release, then press
again. Tilt and roll your finger slightly each time and keep pressing until the process is
complete.
5. If the administrator’s fingerprint is correctly enrolled you will see the user name in the
table of authorised users.

1. Open the Fingerprint Secure User Manager application as outlined in steps 1-3 of the
previous section. Note, adding/removing/editing a user is only possible if you are a
registered Administrator.
2. To add a user click the + symbol and follow the same sequence as registering the
Administrator’s fingerprint
3. To remove a user, select the username in the table of authorised users and click the –
symbol.
4. To edit a username or change their privileges, select the username in the table of
authorised users and click the pencil symbol.
Administrator:
You can only use the “Fingerprint Secure User Manager” software if you are an
administrator.
Read Only:
User can only read data in the secure partition and is are not able to add, change
delete files.

1. Connect Fingerprint Secure to your PC and wait until the LED stops flashing.
2. Gently put your finger on the sensor. If the secure partition will doesn’t open
automatically, try again touching a different part of your fingerprint on the sensor.
3. Double click the secure partition file folder in “My Computer” to access the secure
data.

1. Connect Fingerprint Secure to your PC and open the Fingerprint Secure application.
2. Gently put your finger on the sensor. If the fingerprint is recognised the software will
display a tick and the secure partition will open.
3. If the fingerprint is not recognised the software will display an X. Try again touching a
different part of your fingerprint on the sensor.
