ENGAGE (5 minutes): What’s In the Puzzle???
 The teacher will distribute to the students a cut out pictures and let them post it to
complete the puzzle.
 The puzzle looks like this:

Questions:

1. What can you see in the puzzle?

2. What do you call these things?
3. Is law important in our everyday life? Why?

 The teacher will flip up the puzzle to reveal the words form at the back.
 Then introduce the new lesson based on the words flash on the screen.
EXPLORE (10 minutes): (Inquiry, Critical and Higher-order Thinking Skills)
Task 1 : Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down (Show in a Power-point Presentation)
 Which of the following is/are correct? Show your THUMBS UP if it is correct, and THUMBS
DOWN if it is wrong.
1) 42 = 4 • 4 = 16 CORRECT
2) 24 = 2 • 2 •2 •2
=8 WRONG
3) 2 = 2 • 5
5

= 10 WRONG
4) 33 = 3 • 3 • 3
= 27 CORRECT

Task 2: Think-Pair-Share
 The teacher will instruct the students to think possible answers to the questions display on the
TV. Let them find a partner and share their answers to each other.
 The teacher will call the students randomly to answer the given questions.

Guide Questions:
1. Based on the previous given, how will you express repeated multiplication in simplified form?
2. What is exponent?
3. How to simplify the given in exponential form?

 The teacher will give an idea of exponent.

an = a • a • a • a .....(n times)
In an, a is called the base and n is called the exponent.

EXPLAIN (25 minutes): Interactive Discussion

 The teacher will show a video on different laws of exponents. After the video, the
teacher will ask the following questions:
a. What are the Laws of exponents?
b. Why do we need to follow the Laws of exponent?
Task 3: Form Me A Wheel

Group 1
 The group will be given 3 circles: circle of laws of exponents, circle of rule of every law
of exponents and circle of examples.
 The group will provide examples in every law of exponents and paste the three circles.
Cut out the broken line with a scissor in order to flip it easily.
Task 4: Match Me Up

Group 2
 The teacher will give a puzzle (where the given is written) to match up with the answers
in a puzzle board.
