KNOCKOUT TOURNAMENT
 A single-elimination, knockout, or sudden
death tournament is a type of elimination
tournament where the loser of each match-up is
immediately eliminated from the tournament
which means they do not get a second
opportunity. Only the winning teams continue in
the tournament.
ADVANTAGES OF A KNOCKOUT
TOURNAMENT.

 Easy to conduct and cost effective.


 It forces the teams to perform their best in order
to proceed further in the tournament.
 It is not time consuming because of less no of
matches.
DISADVANTAGES OF A KNOCKOUT
TOURNAMENT.

 Spectators might lose interest if their team is out


of the tournament.
 Stronger teams might get eliminated from the
tournament early if they do not play well.
LEAGUE TOURNAMENT
 A League or Round Robin is a tournament format
in which each team participating plays each
other team irrespective of win or defeat or draw.
Here each team plays with every other team once
or twice depending if it’s a single league or a
double league tournament.
ADVANTAGES OF A LEAGUE TOURNAMENT.
 Every team gets maximum opportunities to show
their efficiency and performance and improve to
themselves.
 League tournament helps to determine the true
deserving winners at the end.
 Spectators or viewers also get good opportunities
to watch the games for many days.
DISADVANTAGES OF A LEAGUE
TOURNAMENT.

 As the numbers of matches are more, thus it is


more time consuming.
 League tournament, requires large amount of
arrangement like more play grounds, more
officials, more finance, etc.
 Weak team often lose interest due to repeated
loss of matches and get psychologically
demoralized.
