Ques:1. What is SMART goal? What steps have you taken to achieve your goal? (Pass)
Ans.

Goals are part of every aspect of business/life and provide a sense of direction, motivation, a clear focus,
and clarify importance. By setting goals, you are providing yourself with a target to aim for. A SMART
goal is used to help guide goal setting. SMART is an acronym that stands for Specific, Measurable,
Achievable, Realistic, and Timely. Therefore, a SMART goal incorporates all of these criteria to help focus
your efforts and increase the chances of achieving your goal.

Seven steps to achieve a goal are as follows:-


1. Write down your goal. Get your goal out of your imagination and on to a piece of paper.
2. Set a deadline. Set a target date by which you will complete your goal.
3. Work on your mindset.
4. Develop your skillset.
5. Take the first step.
6. Continue to completion.
7. Reward yourself.

Ques:2.List five areas in which you hold negative attitudes. How can you change these to positive

I possess negative attitudes in the below areas and also have listed out the respective ways which I
follow to change them into positive one's.

Ans. Steps to improve Time Management:-

1. Start your tasks early.


2. Set limits for what you'll say yes to.
3. Give yourself breaks.
4. Prioritize your tasks.
5. Schedule your tasks and deadlines.
6. Organize your workplace.
7. Learn your patterns of productivity.
8. Use technology to help keep you accountable.

Five areas where I commit to improve my Time Management:-

1. The career aspect which involve job And study.


2. Physical aspect which involve health and body.
3. Intellectual aspect involes learning and other mental growth activities.
4. Emotional aspect involving appropriate feeling and desire.
5. Spiritual aspect involving personal guest of meaning.
The emotional aspect is one of the most common aspects that dictate the productivity of peoples as far
as resources are concerned.

Ques: 1. Name one external and internal motivational factor which motivates you to achieve what you
want. (MERIT)
Ans.
External motivation is a force that triggers a person to set and achieve a particular goal i.e.; money and
prize. Whereas internal motivation is a force which boosts the person to accomplish the set goal due to
personal desire or satisfaction.

Among many one External motivational factor is Money and one internal motivational factor is being
independent. There are many motivation factors in my life. A few of them are internal and a few are
external. I strongly feel motivation is present in each and every human being. If we know the art of
making right choices, we can keep the supply motivation always renewed. However, when we dissipate
this power in useless trifles, we lost it. My internal motivational factor is my intense desire to succeed in
at least one field. I really want to excel in something. This keeps me motivated.
External Factors: I get immensely motivated when I read, hear, or see a highly successful personality.
Their struggle, charisma, and hard-work motivate me.

Ques:2. What are the seven functions of leadership? Which function do you feel is the most important?
Why? (MERIT)
Ans.
Functions of Leadership:
1. Lead.
2. Influence.
3. Motivate.
4. Control.
5. Stimulate.
6. Assert.
7. Cooperate.

Motivation is what I feel is most important.


It is primary function of a leader to guide and direct his group and motivate people to do their best in
the achievement of desired goals, he should build up confidence and zeal in the work group in which
motivation is important.

Ques:3. What are the ego states? Which ego state do you operate in most often? (MERIT)

Ans.
Ego States are consistent patterns of feeling, thinking and behaviour that we all possess.
Transactional Analysis identifies three Ego States:
1. Parent
2. Adult
3. Child.
This is not about actual parents, adults and children, but about different ways of experiencing.

Ego state which I operate most is – Adult Ego State; When I am with my family and friends, I am in adult
ego states.;With my colleague and senior, I behave in adult ego state ;With my grandparents, I behave in
adult ego state.

Ques:1. Do you think personality development is important? Justify by giving own example.
(DISTINCTION
Ans. Yes personality development is important. It plays an essential role in improving one’s
communication skills.
For example: An individual’s personality refers to his/her appearance, characteristics, attitude
and behaviour with others. When we go for an interview the first thing that they notice is our
personality in which comes our behaviour, body language, communication, grooming, thought process,
knowledge. You need to set an example for people around. Personality development not only makes
you look good and presentable but also helps you face the world with a smile. Personality development

goes a long way in reducing stress and conflicts. It encourages individuals to look at the brighter sides of
life.
It helps gain confidence, self-esteem, positive impact on one's communication skills and the way one
sees the world. Students should develop an outgoing and impressive personality that will enhance the
quality of learning. Everyone has qualities that make them unique by trying to develop their persona.

Ques:2. What steps can you take to become more emotionally intelligent? Give examples for each.

Ans. 1. Utilize an assertive style of communicating. (I respect your opinion but let’s agree to disagree)
2. Respond instead of reacting to conflict. (Stop blaming)
3. Utilize active listening skills. (talk less listen more)
4. Be motivated. (keep motivating yourself)
5. Practice ways to maintain a positive attitude. (never give-up, because nothing is impossible)
6. Practice self-awareness. (must know what kind of a person you are)
7. Take criticism. (blind self, see yourself with people’s eye)
8. Empathize with others.(Let me manage my emotions and not emotions will manage me)
9. Utilize leadership skill. (become a leader with moral values)

Ques:3. Explain the ladder of inference with an example. (DISTINCTION)


Ans.

The Ladder of inference describes the thinking process that we go through, usually without realizing it,
to get from a fact to a decision or action. The thinking stages can be seen as rungs on a ladder and are
shown in the figure given below…

Example: A friend hasn’t returned your calls and less time you talk to her now and you also had a little
heated conversation. In your head you think ; she hasn’t returned my calls therefore she doesn’t care for
me anymore guess what “ I don’t care as well”…… there you go when you create your own story inside
your head. Well it might happen that she must be feeling upset. The next time you meet her you’ll act
with her politely but with a distance, and also u created a problem that didn’t exist in the first place
you’ve just climbed the ladder of inference… you observed fact “she didn’t call” inferred “she doesn’t
care” acted based on your inferences “you acted distant” To come down the ladder check your
assumptions.
List all the possibilities “is she not feeling good” “is she busy in work” ask the person out and than come
to an conclusion.
