CHAPTER 1
Introduction
According to Daczynski (2009) students should learn time management for them
to manage their time properly. There are factors affecting the time management of
students which affect their everyday activities. These factors causes the students to
have lack and poor management of time. Students should know the factors that
affecting their time management in order for them to solve their time management
issue.
According to Young (2017), lack of time management affect the student’s lives
such as students perform poorly both on school activities and household activities.
There are factors such as procrastination and unmotivated that affects the time
management of students. This situation causes the students to have unfinished works.
Time, when not manage properly by students will make them function poorly towards
their daily activities.
According to Kaufman (2004), noted that students who are chronically unpunctual do
not manage their time schedule properly. The factors affecting time management
include being unorganized, not keeping time schedules, unsettling goals, and not
2
establishing routine. These factors should not be practice by any individual especially
students.
CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK
•Procrastination
•Unmotivated
•Unclear Goals
•Unestimated Time
•Being Impatient
•Unorganized
Theoretical Framework
The Pickle Jar Theory is a theory and study about time management. This theory helps
students to determine what factors are useful in setting priorities in daily life. This theory
help students to manage their time and plan activities or task everyday. This theory
represents the students daily activities as sand, pebbles, and rocks put inside the pickle
jar which represents the students daily lives, what keeps them busy and how they divide
or manage their time.
In this theory, it is stated that time is limited which means students have to
control their time and set their priorities. Students should set plan or schedule to help
them finish their activities in their scheduled time. Factors such as not setting priorities
and being unorganized affect the time management of students. Procrastination,
unmotivated, and being unassertive on doing the said activities are included as factors
as well that affects the time scheduling of students.
This theory provides insight into the students time table. It offers opportunities
to students in aiding them to make an effort and avoid the factors that affects them in
doing their task. This theory also shows that in a simple way, the students can manage
their time through surpassing the factors affecting time management. In this theory,
students will be able to know the factors and can use their time table wisely.

CHAPTER 2
Foreign
Time is perpetual, and the time expended by everybody can never be recovered.
Time could seem stream continually, but because it is went through on certain
exercises, a few may discover it not sufficient to wrap up the things to be wiped out a
day. Time management may be a ability that everybody ought to have to effectively and
proficiently finish their errands. Legitimate time management leads to way better
choices, particularly on the off chance that one isn’t constrained, and in this way, by
making the proper choices in a careful way, one can accomplish a effective life fair by
properly overseeing their time. In addition, time administration abilities and methods can
be characterized by one’s individual approach, which contributes to various essential
qualities in common. And a few of the most and essential components/factors that ought
to be considered in one’s time administration abilities are objective setting, arranging,
prioritizing, and planning (Carroll, 2015).
and strategy on achieving good management of time. A student time management will
be substantially improved if they have a good task and time allocation system in place.
Having a successful timetable entails knowing what needs to be done in the time
provided. When there is a lot of energy stored, the difficult tasks should be planned first,
and the most important activities should be completed first according to Chapman,
Rupured, Price, Carney, and Clews (2020).
Every student should not only understand, but also practice time management.
When asked to do a task, many students worry about running out of time and becoming
angry because they are unable to complete it before the deadline. Time management is
incredibly important, especially for senior high school students, because it will help them
improve their grades and productivity (Laurie & Hellsten, 2002). Students are frequently
confronted with variables such as task aversion, ambiguity, and procrastination, all of
which have an impact on their time management. As a result, pupils will be unable to
organize their responsibilities according to their priorities, causing them to become
easily sidetracked and procrastinate. As can be seen, time management is crucial for
each student, and it is one of the keys to completing various duties (Kelly, 2004).
Students should begin developing time management skills on their own during
their school years by reading materials used in the classroom and adopting effective
time management attitudes and practices to select how and where they spend their
time. The various groups of students that made use of their time management skills
were able to complete a variety of activities. Students who practice good time
management proves to have reach and performed multiple tasks in a day. They
discovered that students who do not use time-saving measures in their educational
environment had much fewer completed work than students who use time-management
approaches (Mercanlioglu, 2010).
strategies also serves only one objective, implying that time management serves
several purposes. Participating in proceedings and practicing time management skills
not only assist students in their activities, but they also manage their time effectively
when completing tasks. Several studies have shown that time management strategies
are beneficial for a variety of reasons, not just for challenging students’ everyday
routines. Time management techniques explain not just how to get to different activities,
but also how to stay on track (Faisal, Miqdadi, Abdulla, & Mohammad, 2014).
Using time effectively and competently requires procedures and good planning
behaviors: keeping time logs, setting immediate and long-term goals, prioritizing
responsibilities, creating to-do lists and arrangements, and organizing one’s workspace,
as studies from earlier periods and a plethora of how-to books suggested, one can
make effective and competent use of time by keeping time logs, setting immediate and
long-term goals, prioritizing responsibilities, constructing to-do lists and arrangements,
and organizing one’s workspace. Time-saving approaches and behaviors can be
divided into several categories, and they are all likely to contribute to a number of core
features. Short-range planning, long-range planning, and time attitudes are the three
surfaces of time management behavior. Limited-term planning refers to the ability to
organize and systematize obligations in a short amount of time (Laurie & Hellsten,
2002).
Long-term planning entails setting long-term goals and sticking to a set of habits.
It’s been dubbed “having the perception of a liking for structure” by several studies, and
it’s similar to long-term planning. To obtain a summary of the daily tasks that must be
completed, time limitations, and priorities, which strengthens the feeling of having
control over time, allowing one to deal with all activities in the long term. It may be
tackling to be familiar with how much effort is required to be completed within hours,
days, or weeks; it may even be the immediately measurable effect of planning. It directs
to have less perception of control over time because it may be tackling to be familiar
with how much effort is required to be completed within hours, days, or weeks. This may
give the idea that time management techniques have an impact on students daily
11
accomplishments. It was also discovered that students who used goal-oriented time
management strategies had higher overall tasks achievements (Brigitte et al., 2005).
Local
Time management is the key for the students to achieve different set of goals
and tasks. Students should begin planning early and in great detail so that everything is
completed on schedule. Others thrive under the pressure of having to reach a last-
minute deadline. Whatever type of student they are, they will need to manage a variety
of duties at the same time, thus they will need to intentionally manage their time in some
way. The overall goal is to teach students how to manage their time so that they can
finish their studies while still having time for other vital and fun activities in their lives
according to Mendoza, Gonzales, Masa, Mingi, & Ocampo (2009).
Students may be able to complete multiple things/activities in a single day if they know
how to manage their time effectively. Time management is a crucial component and
aspect to a student’s life because it allows and help them to complete a variety of things
on a daily basis. Time management is required and needed for a student to complete
many activities in a timely and orderly manner. Building or creating a consistent and
long-term time management schedule will allow students to make multiple progress on
their many projects/tasks without overworking themselves, as well as keep them
happier and more focus. Students can reach and accomplished variety of
tasks/activities in a day if they build efficient time management which will make the life
of student to become manageable according to Magulod (2019).
plans, prioritize duties, and deal with unexpected chores, they can reduce their time
spending and increase their workday efficiency (Laguador & Agena, 2013).
Anyone, especially students, values their time. For students, time is critical in
completing their various tasks on time, and every minute can be converted to
productivity. The key to achieving success in life is to manage the time and resources
that everyone has equally, as well as to pay close attention to planning. Time
management include training in skills such as goal – setting, scheduling, prioritizing
tasks, self – monitoring, problem – solving techniques, and delegating which are helpful
for students. This can also be true in places like schools, colleges, and universities.
Students must attend classes on time and complete activities and assignments in order
to attain their personal goals and complete tasks. Students must value their time in
order to build routines and schedules for their everyday activities. Students should
practice time management in this manner according to Marpa (2014).
Time management is critical for a variety of reasons. The fact that students use
time in their daily lives implies that time is a part of their daily lives that must be handled
in order to conclude the day with a sense of success, as time cannot be reversed.
Students’ time management is greatly influenced by their ability to manage their time.
They went on to say that every student should be able to properly arrange their
activities, set goals, and prioritize those that demand immediate attention, among other
things. Students’ capacity to make judgments can also be improved through time
management, allowing them to use time more efficiently. Even though there is no
universally approved method for managing time, it is critical for students to appreciate
time management and use it in a variety of situations (Balatbat & Dahilig, 2016).
the tasks and accomplish them within the time frame provided. Prioritizing the tasks to
be completed is related to how students manage their time successfully by controlling
the urgency of the needs and the time allotted to each activity in order to maximize time
according to Lorenzo, Padua, Panganiban & Peña (2013).
There are several methods for pupils to develop time management skills in order
to complete various activities. Proper time management, for example, can greatly assist
students in completing a number of responsibilities. Planning (both short- and long-
term) and time attitude are two elements that might be considered while demonstrating
time management. Prioritization, procrastination, and sociability are all aspects that
affect time management in students according to Tus (2020).
