COT 2 Math Grade 1

The lesson plan aims to teach students how to illustrate subtraction as taking away objects from a set. The teacher will have students come to the front of the class and remove some to demonstrate subtraction. Students will then participate in an activity using popsicle sticks to represent different amounts and practice subtracting by removing some. Finally, students will complete an assignment solving additional subtraction problems by taking away objects from a set.
