IV. PROCEDURES
The students will identify the similarities and differences of the two statements presented
by the teacher.
A. Introduction

The students will determine the topic today based from the example statements. The
teacher will give a hint by reviewing the topic during Week 1 which is Determining
Terminologies using Dictionary, Thesaurus and Online Sources.
The teacher now will explain how the word “SLAY” functioned differently in the sentences
furthermore.

B. Development The teacher will discuss about Definition and its kinds: Technical and Operational
Definitions.

The students will review the two statements and the teacher will ask them which of those
statements is the Technical and Operational Definitions.
Activity 1
GAME TIME: What Could It Be?
The students will play a game via Quizziz. The link and code will be given by the
C. Engagement teacher through their Group Chat.

The students will read each statement carefully and identify its technical
definition. The Top 3 scorers will win a prize.

During checking, the teacher will ask the following questions:

 Do you still remember what reflection is? Is it a characteristic or function


of a mirror?
 From this technical definition, where do we use solution?
 Why do terminologies differ when we use it in different subject areas?

Activity 2

SEVEN WORDS TO OPERATE

The students will be grouped into 7 using the Random Team Generator application and
they will have a separated Google Meet Link for brainstorming. A Canva link will be
sent in the Group Chat.

They will create an operational definition for the term/word assigned to them, based on
the given context and put it on their respective Canva slide.

They will do this for 7-10minutes only.

During checking, the teacher will ask the following questions:

 In this activity, how are the operational definitions differ from the
technical definitions?
 Which is easier provide: technical or operational definition? Why?
Processing Questions:
 What have you learned today about technical and operational definitions?
 How are you going to use it in your research or thesis?
D. Assimilation  Why do we need to know the process of using and creating these
definitions?
