1. INTRODUCTION
Computer Marketing Company (CMC) started it beginning in 1984 with focus on Pakistan’s IT
market. With gradual and continual growth, CMC became a leading player in enterprise
hardware, Defense, and turnkey project solutions of Pakistan's market. Our three-decade
experience in helping organizations has enabled us to complete your projects with precision
and effectiveness while considerably reducing the cost and response time.
CMC enjoys premium relationships with world's leading brands like Hewlett Packard, Hewlett
Packard Enterprise, Lenovo, Huawei, Emerson, Printronix and others. Strong and long-lasting
relationships with our partners enable us to achieve new levels of excellence and efficiency for
your project. In addition to our partners, we have also invested in human capital. Some of the
best, highly trained and industry leading professionals are working at CMC
We are also expanded our portfolio into satellite systems in recent years with partnerships with
different vendors and manufacturers from around the world like Anovo Satelitte Solutions, ST
Engineering IDirect, Memotech etc. With this proposal, we aim to introduce and present Anovo
Satcom System for the replacement/backup of IDirect HUB at Cybernet. Anovo is a branding of
the modem system from China Space Star Technology Co., Ltd. Space Star is a company and
also an institute who dedicated for satellite applications, a subsidiary of China Academy of
Space Technology (CAST).

Figure 4: AUPC
Both hub site and terminal site support real-time AUPC to improve the overall link availability.
Under ACM mode, every DVB-S2 frame to terminals in forward channel can adjust different
MODCOD to correspond the real-time SNR quality.
In return channels, system can automatically adjust MODCOD from QPSK 1/3 to 8PSK 5/6 or
adjust uplink power level at over-20dB range to correspond the SNR quality
9
QoS
Anovo system supports to configure different priorities and bandwidth limitations for terminals
and/or application based on customer demands.
Security
Anovo system provides a secure and reliable network with data encryption, authorization,
authentication, network isolation and other customized features.
In Anovo system, encryption, available in application layer and network layer, can be deployed
in single layer or multiple layers, as well as support to use 3 rd-party encryption algorithm
directly. To ensure better security, Anovo system applies IPsec-based VPN, separated signaling
and service, service authentication, intrusion detection and alarm, real-time critical data
backup, etc.
Link encryption, signaling encryption together with service encryption provide high-standard
security for special customers, whose algorithms can be customized. The multiple encryption
levels can meet variable security demands from military, government, corporations and other
customers.
Extensive Terminals
Anovo system supports fixed terminal, flyaway terminal, man-pack terminal, COTP terminal,
COTM terminal etc., to meet customer’s different applications requirement.

2.3 Highlights
Flexible Network Topology
1) Hybrid Network Topology
A single Chassis is able to support start network and mesh network simultaneously.
11
Figure 10: Network Topology
Start Network: It takes one hop between any terminal to Hub while 2 hops between any two
terminals. Under this topology, terminals with smaller antennas support broadcast, internet
access, end-to-end file transfer, and other scenarios.
Terminals receive TDM carrier from Hub, and transmit signal to Hub under MF-TDMA or SCPC
model.
12
a) Symbol Rate: 1Msps-10Msps,Max. Information Rate: 27Msps;
b) Modulation: QPSK, 8APSK;
c) Auto Uplink Power Control(AUPC), Adaptive Code Modulation (ACM)。
Terminal is ready to use once powered on. During operation, if there are any unexpected
interrupts, such as a power-off maintenance, terminal is able to automatically access network
without any further configuration.
When system is running, terminal will be functioning without any further configuration, that is,
Hub updates terminals’ configuration automatically, for example, the frequency or bandwidth
change in both forward and return links. After operations personnel changes parameters in
hub, system will broadcast new configuration to all terminals directly, without manually setting
new parameters terminal by terminal.
Each terminal has two receive frequency points: active and standby. Even if terminals are shut
down when being configured by hub, they can still access network and update parameters
trough the standby frequency point in the next time they are turned on.
13
Terminal Roaming
System supports terminal roaming by beam switching technology, whose overall architecture is
shown in the figure below.
(1) Features
a) Switching in different scenarios: single satellite with single station, single satellite with
multiple stations, multiple satellites with multiple stations, etc.
b) Switching between Ka-band and Ku-band.
c) Support maritime, airborne, vehicle, high-speed train, etc.
d) NMS supports to import and process beam coverage information, display coverage area
and remote station trajectory, etc.
e) Continuous business during beam switching.
f) Remote station access authentication in any carrier coverage area.
g) Support single antenna and dual antennas, single channel and multiple channels.
h) Support wireless resource load balancing and QoS consistency policy guarantee during
the handover process.
i) In the beams-overlap areas, if resources are available, system will switch to the beam
with better signal quality.
j) Ping-pong switching prevention.
k) For specific remote stations or all remote stations in the VNO, a beam switching
strategy, based on the track known in advance, can be predefined.
l) Remote stations support service buffering and service transmission optimization.
14
m) The map information, stored in the mobile remote stations, can be updated real-time
online, but which may be incomplete depending on network scales.
(2) Beam Switching Specifications:
a) Airborne remote station with same satellite and same polarization: handover-free dual-
channel switching with continuous service
b) Vehicle or maritime stations with same satellite, same polarization, and same gateway
station: switching time is 500ms, service interruption time is less than 1s.
c) Polarization Changing in remote stations:about 5s-6s.
d) L.O Changing in remote stations:about 1s.
15
3 subnets:
Software VNO
Users in each subnet share forward and return resources, whose service is isolated through
VLAN.
Hardware VNO
Users in each subnet monopolize forward and return resources, like equipment or system,
whose service is isolated through physical equipment .
Software-Hardware-Mixed VNO
Users in different subnet share one forward carrier and monopolize own return carriers, whose
service is isolated through VLAN.
