Technology Licensor or Technology Vendor Identification

We are seeking the Technology Licensors for:


 Thermal Phosphoric Acid Plant (NOT the wet acid process) https://en.cd1958.com/html/122.html. These plants also make white phosphorus or yellow
phosphorus. They are also called TPA (thermal phosphoric acid). The wet acid process produces ppa (purified phosphoric acid) so this is the wrong plant.

Explanation of different types of Engineering Companies


1. Technology Licensor – Sells the Technology Licence and is responsible for the Process Guarantee. They will sell a Technology Licence (a plant design) to our
company. These engineers give the process design to General Engineering Contractors. The design includes process flow diagrams (PFD), mass and energy balance,
process guarantee and equipment specifications. Their design will include the entire plant not just some equipment items. The plant will cost between US$ 50
million and US$ 350 million.
2. General Engineering Contractor – Performs the Bankable Feasibility Study (BFS) and FEED. This work converts the Technology Licence into contracts for the
Construction Company.
3. Construction Company – builds the plant using the design from the General Engineering Contractor. Also called the EPC or EPCM contractor.
4. Owner – Owns and operates the plant

Discussion of Thermal Acid versus Wet Process


1. Electric-Thermal Process also called ‘thermal acid’ used widely from 1933 and 80 plants currently operational in China and 2 outside China. It uses a submerged
electric arc furnace and produces very high purity phosphoric acid and phosphorus (also called P4).
2. Wet Acid Process is used today for most bulk phosphate fertilisers. This process uses sulphuric acid, nitric acid or hydrochloric acid to dissolve phosphate.
Sulphuric acid is the most common but also precipitates a gypsum waste ‘phosphogypsum’.
