World Mental Health Day
World Mental Health Day
10.10.21
The overall objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental
health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health.
The Saint Francis Xavier college participates in this event to provide knowledge
and opportunity to all studens and school staffs working on mental health issues to talk
about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality
for everyone.
Keeping our minds healthy is what mental health means. Mankind is often more
concerned with maintaining bodily health. People tend to ignore their mental health.
Man's mental advantage over other animals is based on his higher intelligence.
Because of his advanced human brain, man has been able to control life. As a result, it
is critical for a man to keep both his body and intellect in good shape. Physical and
mental wellness are both critical for improved performance and results.
Mental, social, and emotional health, according to many healthcare
professionals, is an important aspect of overall fitness. Physical fitness, in fact, is a
combination of physical, emotional, and mental fitness. Emotional fitness has been
defined as a state of mind that really is capable of focusing on creative and critical work
while avoiding negative thoughts. It indicates that the individual should not be overly
sensitive. He should not become captivated by minor problems. He should not overreact
to situations. He should not get upset or disturbed by setbacks, which are parts of life.
Those who do so are not emotionally fit though they may be physically strong and
healthy. There are no gyms to set this right but yoga, meditation, and reading books,
which tell us how to be emotionally strong, help to acquire emotional fitness.
In the twenty-first century, mental illness is becoming more common. Not
everyone gets the help they need. Even though mental illness is more common these
days and can impact anyone, it still has a stigma. Because of this stigma, people are
still hesitant to embrace mental illness. They are embarrassed to admit it and seek
medical assistance. Physical and mental health are strongly intertwined. They are both
equally crucial to a person's well-being.
Our society's perception of mental condition or illness needs to change. The
stigma connected with this illness must be removed, and people must educate
themselves about it. The repercussions of not treating mental illness at the appropriate
time might be serious.
Being both physically and emotionally fit is the key to success in all aspects of
life. People should be aware of the consequences of mental illness and must give
utmost importance to keep the mind healthy like the way the physical body is kept
healthy. The mental and physical health cannot be separated from each other.
