CONTRACT LABOUR (REGULATION AND ABOLITION) ACT, 1970. No: GHR/2020/163 /CLA/152020/415126 /M (3) : WHEREAS certain draft rules were published as required by sub-section (1) of section 35 of the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970. (37 of 1970), at pages 232-1 to 232-1, in the Gujarat Government Gazette, Extra Ordinary, Part IV-A, dated the 2" December,2020, under the Government Notification, Labour and Employment Department No: GHR/2020/152/CLA/152020/415126 /M (3), dated the 26" November, 2020, inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby within a period of thirty days from the date of publication of the said notification in the Official Gazette; AND WHEREAS the objections or suggestions have been received by the Government in respect of the said draft notification; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercises of the powers conferred by section 35 of Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970. (37 of 1970), the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) (Gujarat) Rules, 1972, namely:- 1. (1) These rules may be called the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) (Gujarat) (Amendment) Rules, 2020. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Inthe Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) (Gujarat) Rules, 1972 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), in rule 24, for the letter and figure "Rs. 270" the letter and figure "Rs, 540" shall be substituted. 3. Inthe said rules, for rule 26, the following rule shall be substituted, namely:- 26. Inthe said rules, for rule 27, the following rule shall be substituted, namely: 27. Validity of licence. - Every licence granted under rule 25°shall remain in force for the period mentioned in Form-V. In the said rules, rule 29, rule 30 and rule 32 shall be deleted. In the said rules, for Form V, the following Form shall be substituted, namely:- "FORM V (see rule 21 (2)) Form of Certificate by Principal Employer Certified that I have engaged the applicant (Name_of Contractor) as contractor in my establishment. I undertake to be bound by all the provisions of the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970 and Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) (Gujarat) Rules, 1972, in respect of the employment of Contract Labour by the applicant for the period from (date) to (date) in my establishment.
